tricycledoesnotrequirethebalancingandcoordinationskillsas
inridingabicycle.Nevertheless,youneedtolearnthebasic
conceptofridingandfamiliarizeyourselfwithspecialhandling
andridingtechniquesthatareuniquetothistypeoftricycle.
Duetoweightandsizeofthesemodels,theconditionofthe
surfaceonwhichyourideyourtricycleaffectstheperformanceof
yourtricycle.Youmustlearntohandlethetricycleindifferent
surfaceconditions.Tryridingthetricycleinlowspeed,steering
thehandlebr,andexperiencingthehandlingwhileperforming
differentmaneuvers.Avoidmakingsharpturnsat2+mile/hour
speed.

blinkingredlightmountedontherear,normallybelowthe
saddle.Iftherearbasketisinstalled,mounttherearlightor
reflectorattherearsideofthebasketorontheleftsideofthe
rearfenderwhereitisvisible.
REFLECTORS‐Yourtricycleisequippedwithasetofreflectors,
mountedonthefrontandrearaswellasonthewheelspokes
andpedals.Yourtricycleshouldreflectlightfromalldirections.

abovetherearaxleofthetricycle.Donotallowcargotoextend
morethan10”beyondtheedgeofreartires.Spreadtheload
evenlyinthecargoareaandsecureallloosepartsorboxes.

Donotattempttojumpacurboraspeedbump.Ridingon

Due to size and weight of Husky cargo tricycles, avoid narrow
sidewalks and off-road bicycle trails.
Also avoid roads or ramps with steep grade. When riding
down a ramp or hill, exercise extreme caution and slow down,
using both brakes. Avoid sharp turns at high speeds.

STEP1–FRAMEASSEMBLY

1. Placethefrontandrearsectionsonaworkbenchand
positioneachsectionsothattheconnectingbracketsface
eachother.
2. Slidetherearsectionframebracketsovertheinsideof
bracketsonthefrontsectionaspicturedbelow.Insert4
largesquarekeyedframeboltsthroughtheinsideofthe
brackets(2oneachside)andinstallwashersandnyloninsert
nutsontheoutside.DONOTTIGHTENTHENUTS.

3.Removetheshortchainandchainlinkpackedinthehardware
box.Placethechainoverthecoasterbrakehubandrearaxle
sprockets.Connecttheopenendsofthechaintogetherusingthe
connectinglink.
Afterthelinksareconnected,applytensiontothechainby
pullingthefrontandrearframesapart.Whileapplyingtension,
tightentheframebolts.Beforetighteningthebolt,makesure
therearaxlesprocketislinedupwiththeinsidesprocketonthe
coasterbrakehub.Iftherearsprocketisnotcorrectlylinedup,
loosenthesetscrew,andslidethesprocketontherearaxleuntil
itislinedup.
Setscrew
Thechainsshouldnotsagorbetootight.Toomuchtensioncan
causeexcesswearoftherearaxle,axlesprocket,andcoaster
brakehub.Upordownmovementoftheshortchainshouldnot
bemorethan3/8”.
5.Afteryouhavetightenedtheframebolts,testthedrivesystem
bycrankingthetricycle.Rememberthatyoucanonlycrankin
onedirection(forward).Backwardcrankingengagesthecoaster
brake.Ifyounoticeexcessivepullorchainjumping,checkthe
ConnectingLink
chaintensionandmakesurethatcoasterbrakeandrearaxle
sprocketsarelinedsquarelyontherearaxle.

STEP2‐MountingtheWheels
1. Attachthefenders.Frontfenderisattachedtothefrontfork
usingthefenderbolt/nut/washerfromhardwarepackand
twoscrewsonforkdropoutsforfenderbraces.
2. Attachtherearfenderreflectorstotherearfendersbefore
installingtherearfenders.Thefenderreflectorsareattached
tothefenderusing8mmnutsandwasherthatarepacked
withtherearfenderreflectors.
3. AlltricyclemodelsexceptT‐326haveidenticalrearwheel
hubsforeachsideoftheaxle.DrivewheelhubforT‐326is
mountedonthedrivesideoftheaxle(rightsideorthecrank
side)byslidingthehub’ssquaremachinedboreoverthesquare
keyaxle.
Forothermodels,youcanusetherearwheelsoneitherside.
However,thedrive‐sidewheelsonT‐124,T‐320,andCruise

10mmboltonthebellcranktomakesureitissecuredtotheaxle
nut.Bellcrankmustbeattachedinahorizontalpositionand

suretheadjustingbarrelonthebellcrankisnotrubbingagainst
thechainstayandisfreetoturnincaseanadjustmentisneeded.

yellowdot,turntheadjustingbarrelonthebellcrank.Tighten
thelocknutontheadjustingbarreloncetheadjustingbarrelisin

SADDLE‐Removethesaddlefromplasticbagandplacethe
narrowendoftheseat‐postinthesaddleclamp.Securethe
clampboltswitha14or17mmwrench(dependingonthemodel)
butdonottightenyet.Placethesaddlewiththeseat‐post
attachedintheseattubeoftheframeandsecuretheseat‐post
clampwitha12mmwrench.

AdjusttheheightoftheseatpostbutDONOTEXTENDTHESEAT
POSTBEYONDTHE"MINIMUM"MARK.Onceyouhaveadjusted
thesaddleandseatposttodesiredpositionandheight,tighten

PEDALS‐Makesurethattheright‐handpedalisattachedtoright

Wheelreflectorsaresecuredtowheelspokes.Slidethespoke
underthewasherandsecurewiththenut.Positionthereflector
onthespokethatisbetweentwonearparallelspokes.
NOTE:WHENAIRINGTIRES,MAKESURETHATTHETIREBEADIS
SEATEDINSIDETHERIMBEFOREREACHINGMAXIMUM
PRESSURE.
Inflatetoabout10PSI,stopandchecktomakesuretireisseated
uniformlyontherim.Lookforanyareasofthebeadthatisnot
fullyinsertedintotherim.Nowyoucanfinishinflatingtothe
maximumpressure.Ifyouuseanaircompressor,makesureyou
stopandcheckthetirefrequentlybeforeyoureachmaximum
pressure(40‐50psi).Aircompressorsairthetiretooquicklyand
maycausethetubetoblowuporcausethetiretopop‐offthe
rimifthetireisnotseatedproperly.

padsontheframeandfenders.Checkalltheboltstomakesure

twoshortbasketbracketsalongwiththeboltsandnuts(seethe

Attachthelongbracketstotherearframeusing40mmbolt(E).
Placethebasketonthelongbracketsmakingsurethatthebasket
iscenteredontherearframe.Securethebaskettothelong
bracketswiththeshortbracketsusing30mmbolt(D)asshown
below.
CruiseMasterrearbasketcomeswithsmallclipsthatisusedto

BASICMAINTENANCE
YouhavemadeawisedecisiononpurchasingaHUSKYtricycle.
Tomakesurethatitstaysingoodconditionformanyyearsof
serviceandridingpleasure,wesuggestthefollowing:
CLEANINGANDLUBRICATION
Keepingyourtricyclecleannotonlyenhancestheappearanceof
yourbike,butalsohelpsmaintaintheperformanceofvital
components.Thefollowingistherecommendedprocedurefor
cleaningyourbike:
1. Donotwipeoffdrydirtormudasitcanscratchthepainted
surface.Firstwetyourbikethoroughlywithcleanwater,and
thenwipeoffdirtwithaspongeorcloth.
2. Removeloosedirtonthegears,chains,hubsandwheels.
3. Wipeoffwetpartswithacleandrycloth.
4. Excessgreaseorgumdepositsonchainandsprocketscanbe
cleanedusingchaincleaningfluidsanddegreasersavailable
atyourHuskydealerorhardwarestores.
Allmovingcomponentsofthebikerequirelubrication.
Certaincomponentssuchasheadset,bottombracket,and
hubbearingsshouldbetakenapartbyanexperiencedbicycle
technicianandlubricatedwithspecialbearinggrease.Oilor
otherlubricantsforsuchpartsshouldnotbeused.
Youcanlubricatethechainusingspecialchainlubricants
availableatyourauthorizedHUSKYdealer.Refertothe
lubricantmanufacturer’sinstructionsforproperapplication.
ROUTINEMAINTENANCE
Ifyouareado‐it‐yourselfer,possesstechnicalskills,andhavethe
propertoolsforrepairormaintenanceofyourbike,youcan
performmostbasicroutinemaintenancesuchaslubrication,
tire/tubemaintenance,adjustingchaintension,andtightening
loosenutsandbolts.Specialattentionshouldbegiventocrank
locknutandcoasterbrakeaxlenuts.Wedorecommendthatyou
takeyourbicycletoabicycleshopforallmajoradjustments,
wheelalignmentandtruing,componentreplacement,tirerepair
orreplacement.
Ifyourideyourtricycleformorethan120hoursamonth,we
recommendthatyoufollowaregularinspectionand
maintenanceschedule.ConsultwithyourauthorizedHUSKY
dealerforamaintenanceschedulethatfityourridingstyleand
time.
FIXINGAFLATTIRE
Therewillbeatimewhenyouneedtofixaflattire.Youcan
replacethetube,takethebiketoabicycleshop,orfixtheflat
yourself.Youcanfixaflatfollowingthesesimplesteps:
TOOLSNEEDED:2tirelevers,onebicyclepump,axlenutwrench,
aragorcloth,andatubepatchkit.
1. Removethewheelwithaflattire.Ifyouareremovingthe
frontwheel,youwillneedtodisconnectthefrontbrakecable
andbrakearm.
2. Openthevalveandsqueezetheremainingairoutofthe
tube.Toopenthevalve,usingasmallscrewdriverortipofa
tirelever,pressonthevalvepin.
3. Loosenthetirebeadfromtherimebysqueezingtheflattire
andpushingitinward.Repeatthisallaroundthetire,making
surethatthebeadisloose.

4. Pryonesideofthetirebeadupovertheedgeandinsertthe
tireleverunderthebeadbyabout1/4”.DONOTUSEANY
OBJECTSWITHSHARPPOINTSSUCHASASCREWDRIVEROR
AKNIFE.
5. Pullthetubefromunderthetire,leavingthetireontherim.
Ifyouareontheroadwithaflattire,werecommendyou
carryasparetubewithyou.Itismuchmoreconvenient.You
canpatchtheflattubelaterwhenyougetbackhomeand
keepitforlateruse.
6. Followpatchkit’sinstructionsforpatchingtheleak.Inflate
thetubebeforeputtingthetubebacktocheckforanyother
leaks.Youcandetectaleakbyeithersubmergingitwateror
sprayingtheentiretubewithsoapywater.Ifnootherleaks
arefound,drythetube.Feelaroundtheinsideofthetireto
findthecause.Checktherimforanydamageorsharpmetal.
Wipetherimandcleantheinsideofthetire.
7. Workonesideofthetireovertheedgeoftherim.Theother
sideshouldhangout.Insertthetubebetweentherimand
thetirebyfirstinsertingthevalveintothevalvehole.
8. Whenthetubeismountedovertherimandunderoneside
ofthetire,trypushingtheothersideoftirebeadoverthe
edgeoftherim.Onceyoureachthelast2inchesusethe
palmofyourhandtoslidetherestofthetireovertherim.
Trynotusingthetireleveratthistimeasthelevercanpinch
thetubeandcauseapuncture.Mosttirescanbemounted
ontherimwithouttheuseofatool.
9. Checkthebeadofthetireandmakesureyoudonotseeany
partofthetubeleftoutorpinchedunder.Thebeadmustbe
seatedwithinthewalloftherim.
10. Inflatethetirebypumping4or5strokes.Checkthetire
seatingandmakesurethebeadisnothangingoutofthe
edgeoftherim.
REPLACINGFRONTBRAKESHOES
Aworn‐outbrakeshoemustbereplacedassoonasthedepthof
rubberthreadis1/8"orless.Toreplacetheshoes,removethe
nutsandwasherusinga5mmAllenwrench.Whenreplacingthe
shoes,leaveabout1mmgapbetweentheshoesandthewheel's
side‐wall.Alsomakesurethattheshoesarecenteredonthe
