6. Starting - up
6.1 Preliminary steps
Important!
It is essential to determine size measurements and placement in advance in order to ensure
safe placement, running and emergency actions within the surrounding environment. These
conditions should be respected beginning with the preliminary stages, before skiving be-
gins.
• Place the machine on a steady and at foundation.
• Check the air pressure (min. 6 bars) and the electrical system. The machine has a safety
system for “to low air pressure”.
• Ensure that the skiving tool is securely tightened.
NOTE !
Before plugging-in the machine, make sure that the line voltage corresponds to
the voltage indicated on the machine.
6.2 Operator position
The placement of the tool/machine in relation of the operator’s position must make it pos-
sible to observe the result of the operation and maintain safety conditions. During this sta-
ge, make sure that the Start/Stop button and the Emergency switch are not blocked and that
there is sufcient visibility and lighting on the machine, the surrounding area and base.
6.3 Starting - up
The rst time using the machine do all of the following adjustments without any hose to see
the working conditions of the equipment and do remember to keep the ngers and any other
bodily parts and/or foreign material away from the hose grip system!
• Assemble the correct tooling and close the hatch.
• Release the Emergency Stop Switch by turning the button clockwise.
• Press the button “ON-OFF Switch” and the machine is ON.
• Adjust the “Pressure control Jaws” to max. pressure (6-8 bars).
• Adjust the “Pressure control stroke” to 6-8 bars for the skiving power.
• Adjust the skiving speed by valve 3 on the pressure control panel.
• Place the hose end on to the mandrel. VERY IMPORTANT: Keep the ngers around the hose
outside of the machine.
• Press the Foot pedal and the hose grip system will close and the tool will go forward.
• When a full stroke is done, release the foot pedal and the tool will go back to its starting
position and the hose grip system will open.
• Check the skiving result.
• Adjust skiving knife if necessary

Page 10
