Installation Instructions- CX
Warning
This replacement kit shall be installed by a qualified service agent in accordance with these
instructions and all applicable codes and requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. If the
information in these instructions is not followed exactly a fire, an explosion or production of
carbon monoxide may result causing property damage, personal injury or loss of life.
The qualified service agency is responsible for the proper installation of this kit. The installation
is not proper and complete until the operation is checked as specified in these instructions.

When to Install the P-1611 Gas Valve Outlet Line Replacement
Kit
Install the P-1611 kit if you need to replace a damaged or leaking gas valve outlet line.

CXGas Valve Outlet Line Assembly

Note
A ladder or step may be required to have a clear vertical view of the work area.
Do not attempt to remove the assemblies without a clear view, as damage to the connectors,
screws or refractory may occur.
Replacement of CXGas Valve Outlet Line
Preparing the Unit for Servicing
1. Remove call(s) for heat.
2. Remove power to the unit at a wall switch or a breaker.
3. Shut off gas supply to the boiler.
Do not drain the boiler unless freezing conditions are expected during this procedure.
4. Allow the boiler to cool down.
5. Remove the front cover, and then remove the four Torx 20 screws on the top panel of the combi boiler.

Removing and Replacing the Gas Valve Outlet Line
1. Unplug the electrical connection to the gas valve.
2. Undo the union nut(E) (see Figure 2) at the gas valve outlet (D) (see Figure 1).
3. Undo the union nut (I) connecting the gas valve outlet pipe to the mixer (C).
4. Carefully remove the gas valve outlet pipe (A) and o-ring (B).
5. Install the replacement gas outlet (H) by tightening the union nut on the gas valve outlet ensuring that
the nut retainer(G) and o-ring (F) are in place.
6. Tighten the union nut connecting the outlet pipe to the mixer, ensuring that the o-ring (B) is in place.
7. Connect the electrical connection to the gas valve.

Caution
Before restoring the combi boiler to normal operation, check for leaks at the gas valve outlet and
the gas valve pipe to mixer union.
Start-Up
1. Turn on the electric power and gas supply to the combi boiler.
2. Restore the call(s) for heat.
3. With the combi boiler operating, check for leaks at the gas valve outlet and the pipe to mixer union.
4. Replace the front cover, and install the four Torx 20 screws on the top panel of the combi boiler.
