Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite
accidents.
Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as
in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power
tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power
tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug
in any way. Do not use any adapted plugs with earthed(grounded)
power tools. Modified plugs and un-matching outlets will increase
the risk of electric shock.
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as
pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased
risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water
entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or
unplugging the power tool. Keep it away from heat, oil, sharp edges
or moving parts.
When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord
suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use
reduces the risk of electric shock.

power tool by insulated gripping surfaces only and second hand
on motor housing. Keep your body positioned to either side of the
blade, but not in line with the blade.
Do not hold the material to be worked in your hands, it’s
important that the material be adequately clamped down, reducing
the contact with the body and the possibility of losing control.
Do not operate the tool on surfaces under which there might be
electrical wires, and water or gas pipes. The contact with wires
or water might cause electrical shocks. The motor generates sparks
that, if in contact with flammable gases, might cause explosion.
Always use blades of correct sizes and parameters. Suitable
blades are available with the product.
Do not overload your tool, use it only for the adequate purpose.
Using the power tools for purposes that are different from what is
indicated in this manual (refer ‘Intended Use’) might lead to
hazardous situations.
Never force the tool. Forcing the tool can cause uneven cuts, loss

Jigsaw is a power tool which uses a reciprocating blade for
cutting shapes in a variety of materials, mostly to cut
irregular curves in wood, then metal and other materials.
They also work well for making short crosscuts on a board and
finishing inside corner cuts that you start with a circular saw.
Other applications include ceramic tile cutting, cutting counter-
tops, carpet cutting etc., making it suitable for straight and
curved cuts with bevel angles up to 45°.
This have a Quick releasing chuck system allowing a quick & tool-
free blade change with the help of a lever.
Three T-Shank cutting blades are available with the product.
The design of the jig saw provides easy handling and comfort
when operating in different positions at different angles.
The LED work light provides a guide beam on the work surface in
front of the saw. The light works purely on an additional battery.

The variable orbital cutting action provided by the Orbital mode
selector (8) allows to select one of four different blade angles.
This action varies the forward cutting angle of the blade for an
increased cutting efficiency. This can also be adjusted during no
load running. Do not use excessive blade force when cutting with
the action as the blade cuts on the upward stroke only.
This Jigsaw has a quick release tool holder (6) and works by
attaching a blade accessory to the tool (T-shank blades are
available with the product).

To fit the blade, depress the lever on the tool holder to loosen the
holder.
The blade’s cutting edge should be facing forward.
Insert the blade’s mounting portion into the groove in the blade
holder until it touches the bottom of the holder.
Ensure the blade is located and runs smoothly in the groove as
well as through the roller guide.
The finger protection located in front of the blade holder will
help prevent accidental contact with the moving blade
The base (9) plate must always be held firmly against the materials
being cut to reduce saw vibration, blade jumping or blade breakage.
Adjusting the angle of the base plate (between 0 and 45º) with
the provided allen key enables bevel cutting.
Loosen the bolts securing the base plate using the allen key. Tilt
the base allowing for bevel cuts between 0 and 45 º.
Hold the base plate in position and firmly tighten the bolts to
clamp the base plate at that angle. Check the accuracy of the
angle with a protractor and ensure the plate is firmly clamped.
IBL JS10-70
BASE PLATE ADJUSTMENT
WARNING! Always make sure that the tool is switched off and
unplugged before making any adjustment.

12
Always use a blade suited to the material and material thickness
to be cut. Always ensure the work–piece is firmly held or clamped
to prevent movement.
For easier control, use a low speed to start cutting, then increase
to correct speed. Any movement of the material may affect the
quality of the cut. Clearly mark the work-piece to locate the
position of the cut.
Once the jigsaw has reached the desired speed, gradually bring
the moving blade into contact with the work-piece at the
appropriate location.
Apply enough downward pressure to keep the jigsaw steady and
only enough forward pressure to keep the blade cutting freely.
The blade cuts on the upward stroke and may chip the uppermost
surface or face of the work piece. Ensure your uppermost surface
is a non-visible surface when your work is finished.
Straight cut: A straight cut can be made by clamping a piece of
wood or straightedge to the work-piece and guiding the edge of the
saw against it. Make the cut from one direction only. Do not cut
halfway and complete the cut from the opposite end.
Bevel cutting (Angle Cutting): Bevel cutting angles may be adjusted
from 0° to 45° either left or right. To adjust the bevel angle, follow
the steps provided on the ‘Base Plate Adjustment’ section on the
previous page.
Scroll cutting: Scroll cuts can be made with the jig saw by guiding
the direction of the cut with applied pressure on the handle.
GENERAL OPERATION
IBL JS10-70
WARNING! Designate a work area that is clean and well-lit.
Route the power cord along a safe route to reach the work area
without creating a tripping hazard or exposing the power cord to
possible damage.
Secure loose work pieces using a vice or clamps to prevent
movement while working.
Refer specific instructions on page no. 6 before operation.

13
Orbital Cutting: The blade of the saw cuts in orbital motion. This
feature is adjustable and provides faster, more efficient cutting. The
blade cuts through your work in the upstroke but does not drag
across your work in the down-stroke. The higher settings should be
used when fast cutting in soft material is desired. The lower
settings should be used when cutting materials with more
resistance (Refer ‘Orbital Mode Selection’ on page no. 10).
Plunge cutting: This may be used only on soft materials such as
wood, aerated concrete, gypsum plaster boards etc.,
To make a plunge cut, Mark the line of cut clearly on the work-
piece. Set the cutting angle at 0° and the orbital knob to 0.
Drill a pilot hole though any point on the line of cut. Using high
speed, start the saw and slowly lower the blade through the pilot
hole into the work-piece until the blade cuts through the wood.
Do not move the base forward until the blade cuts entirely
through the work-piece and the base is in complete contact with
the work-piece.
Move the saw forward to complete the opening. Use only the
seven teeth per inch blade for this type of cut.
Metal cutting: Use a finer tooth blade for ferrous metals and a
coarse tooth blade for non-ferrous metals. When cutting thin sheet
metals always clamp wood on both
IBL JS10-70
sides of the sheet to reduce vibration
or tearing of the sheet metal. Both
wood and sheet metal must be cut.
Do not force the cutting blade when
cutting thin metal or sheet steel as
they are harder materials and will
take longer to cut. Excessive blade
force may reduce the life of the blade
or damage the motor. To reduce heat
during metal cutting, add a little
lubricant along the cutting line.

14
Keep the tool clean. Never use water or chemical cleaners to
clean your tool. Wipe clean with a dry cloth. Your power tool
requires no additional lubrication.
Cleaning covers or guards; When accumulation of dust on the
cover looks excessive, loosen the clamp and remove the cover.
Wash off accumulation of dust inside the cover and wipe it and
reinstall. Cleaning the of blade should be done as well.
We recommend using the original package for covering the
product or suitable means to protect it against dust.
Before and after each use, check the product and accessories (or
attachments) for wear and damage.
Inspecting cutting blade; Check the cutting blade carefully for
cracks or damage before and after each use. Continuing to use a
dull blade may cause a dangerous kickback and/or motor
overload.
Inspecting the supply cord; Do not pull or carry the tool by the
electric cord or allow its contact with edges, sharp elements,
rough surfaces, oil or chemicals that may damage its flexible and
insulating properties.
Inspecting carbon brushes; The motor employs carbon brushes
which are consumable parts. Keep the brushes clean so that they
move freely on the support. Replace when they wear down to an
extended limit since an excessively worn carbon brush results in
motor trouble. Use only identical carbon brushes.
Both carbon brushes should be replaced at the same time.
The accessories or attachments included with the tool are
recommended only for use with this product. The use of any
other accessories or attachments might present a risk of injury to
persons. Only use accessory or attachment for its stated purpose.
This product does not contain any parts that can be repaired
by the consumer. Contact an authorised service centre or a
similarly qualified person to have it checked and repaired.
