1.1 Important Notice
NOTE:
This iSignager-300 user manual only contains the hardware information. For the
detailed information of the iSignager AdExpress for Frame software that came with
the iSignager-300, please refer to the iSignager AdExpress for Frame user manual.
1.2 iSignager-300 Overview
The iSignager-300 is a multimedia device developed by IEI to design and display dynamic,
visual and audio contents for a target audience. The user can update the display sources
anytime anywhere. The iSignager-300 comes with an application software, the iSignager
AdExpress for Frame, to help users to design and transfer dynamic contents for
iSignager-300. With the iSignager-300, an advertising station is easily established and
promotes the product and services in the simplest way. Optional wireless connection
enables the display sources to be updated anytime anywhere.
1.3 iSignager-300 Model Variations
Two IEI iSignager-300 models are available. The models are listed in Table 1-1.

1.5 System Overview
1.5.1 Front View
The power button of the iSignager-300 is located on the front panel. Figure 1-1 shows the
front view of the iSignager-300.

1.5.2 Rear Panel
All peripheral device connectors are located on the rear panel of the iSignager-300. The
following is a list of the rear panel peripheral device connectors used on the
iSignager-300.
12V power connector: Connects to power adapter.

RS-232 serial connector: This port can be connected to three COM ports
(COM 0, 3, 4). If a general RS-232 cable is used, it only connects to COM 0
for displaying player debug message (Please refer to Appendix A.1). For
other COM port connection (COM3 and COM4), a special cable is needed.
VGA connector: Connects to VGA connector of the display device.
RJ-45 Ethernet connector: Supports 10/100M BASE-T LAN for updating
display content, firmware and player settings via network interface.
SD card slot: For installing SD card with media content created in the
iSignager AdExpress for Frame.
USB connector: For installing USB flash drive to update display content,
firmware and player settings.
Audio out jack: Connects to audio input connector of the display device.
Reset button: Resets the iSignager player.
Antenna connector (iSignager-300WLonly): Connects to an antenna for
wireless LAN connection.
Figure 1-2 shows the rear panel of the iSignager-300 digital signage display.

1.9 Software - iSignager AdExpress for Frame
The iSignager AdExpress for Frame is the software the user can use to design display
contents for the iSignager-300. The iSignager AdExpress for Frame is come with the
iSignager-300. Please install the iSignager AdExpress for Frame in a PC. For more
information please refer to iSignager AdExpress for Frame user manual.
1.10 Supported Formats
The iSignager-300 supports many kinds of video, audio and graphic formats. The
supported formats are listed in Table 1-3.

2.1 Hardware Installation
2.1.1 iSignager-300 Set-Up
To set up the iSignager-300 (the player), follow the steps below:
Step 1: Insert a formatted SD card with display content and player settings generated by
iSignager AdExpress for Frame into the SD card on the bottom panel.

NOTE:
To remove the SD card, just push the card in again. When the card
pops up, remove it from the system.
Step 2: Place the SD slot cover to protect the SD card and lock it with the key.

Step 3: Connect the player to the power adapter and connect the power adapter to the
power source.
Step 4: Connect the VGAcable to the VGA port of the iSignager-300. Then, connect the
other side of the VGA cable to the display device.
Step 5: Connect the audio cable to the audio output port on the bottom panel of the
iSignager-300. Connect the other side of the audio cable to the audio input port
of the display device.
