Product Care
• Place the unit on a level surface away from sources of direct sunlight or excessive heat.
• Protect your furniture when placing your unit on a natural wood and lacquered finish. A cloth or other protective material should be
placed between it and the furniture.
• Clean your unit with a soft cloth moistened only with mild soap and water. Stronger cleaning agents, such as thinner or similar
materials can damage the surface of the unit.

Set Up
Connecting to Power Source
Connect the AC adaptor to the DC jack located on left end of the unit. Connect plug into a
working wall outlet that is not controlled by a wall switch. The display on the unit will show 12:00
PM. The unit does not operate on battery (the battery back up system maintains clock settings
during power failures). Remove battery pull tab before operation.
Display
Indicates what days alarm is set for:
7 Days (every day), Week Day (Mon. - Fri.)
or Week End (Saturday and Sunday)
When blinking, indicates backup batteries
should be replaced.
When lit, indicates Button Lock is active
When lit, indicates alarm is active
Note: This unit has motion detection that will
turn on the display for 15 seconds when the
unit is moved.

TURNING ALARM ON OR OFF
Press and release the Alarm ON/OFF
Button as needed to arm or disarm the
alarm, indicated by the alarm icon, alarm
time and alarm schedule.
When on and set alarm time is within 14
hours, the green alarm LED on top the unit
will light.
Press and release the Alarm Set
Button to confirm alarm setting. 2
beeps will sound to confirm alarm
setting is complete. The alarm icon,
alarm time and alarm schedule will
remain on the screen, indicating
the alarm is armed.

Press and hold the ZZZ Snooze Button for 3
seconds while alarm is sounding to silence the
alarm and reset it to come on again at the next
scheduled day. For example, if set to WEEK
DAYS, if pressed on Friday it will be reset to
wake you again on Monday.

USING SNOOZE
RESETTING ALARM TO COME ON THE NEXT SET DAY
Press and release the ZZZ Snooze Button
when alarm is sounding to silence the alarm for
9 minutes. After that the alarm will sound again.
NOTE: All buttons except the ZZZ Snooze
Button are disabled when the alarm is sound-
ing.

If no audio is detected or unit does not turn on, press and
release the Power Button to turn on the iM14. A blue Power
LED below the Power Button and another on the top the unit will
glow, indicating the unit is powered on.
Adjust the volume and track controls on the audio device as
needed. When done listening, press and release the Power
Button to turn off the iM14. The unit will turn off automatically if
no audio is detected for 15 minutes
The iM14 features a Button Lock Switch located on the bottom of the unit. Slide
the switch to the Locked position to prevent accidental button presses. A lock
icon will appear on the display. Slide to Unlocked to use buttons. Note that the
ZZZ Snooze Button is NOT affected by the Button Lock Switch.
Using the Aux-in Mode

Connect one end of the included aux-in audio cable to the Aux-in jack located on the left end of
the unit and the other end to the headphone or line-out jack of your audio device. Turn on your
device and put it in play mode. The iM14 has auto detect and will turn on if audio is detected.

Connect a USB cable (not included) to the 1 Amp USB Charging Port located under the rubber seal on the
right end of the unit and connect the other end to the device you wish to charge. Monitor charging status
on the device. Some devices require higher output USB. If device does not charge, use charger that
came with device. Unit must be connected to AC to charge devices via USB: it will not charge when
operating on backup battery.
Lithium Battery Warning
The backup battery in this unit uses is a Lithium battery
• Lithium batteries can explode or cause burns if disassembled, shorted, recharged, exposed to water,
fire, or high temperatures & not handled appropriately
• Do not place loose batteries in a pocket, purse, or other container containing metal objects. Do not store
with hazardous or combustible materials.
• Store in cool, dry, ventilated area. Keep Battery Pack away from moisture.
• Follow applicable laws and regulations for transport and disposal.

Installing and Replacing Backup Battery
Your new alarm clock includes 1 CR2032 button cell battery (installed). Pull the battery pull tab before
using the unit. This battery backup system will maintain the time and alarm settings during a tempo-
rary power interruption. When the Battery Low Indicator on the lower right of the display is flashing,
it’s time to replace the battery.
1. Keep unit connected to AC power when changing batteries to avoid losing your settings.
2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screw on the battery door.
3. Remove the battery door.
4. Remove the exhausted battery. Install 1 fresh CR2032 battery. Make sure the + polarity marking
is facing you.
5. Replace the battery door and tighten the screw. Do not over-tighten
NOTE: With battery installed, the display will remain and the clock will continue to run and maintain
your alarm settings and the alarm will sound.
Do not dispose of battery in household trash. Make sure to dispose of battery in accordance with
local regulations.

When used in the directed manner, this unit has been designed and manufactured to ensure your personal safety. However, improper
use can result in potential electrical shock or fire hazards. Please read all safety and operating instructions carefully before installation
and use, and keep these instructions handy for future reference. Take special note of all warnings listed in these instructions and on the unit.
1. Water and Moisture – The unit should not be used near water. For example: near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub,
swimming pool or in a wet basement.
2. Ventilation – The unit should be situated so that its location or position does not interfere with its proper ventilation. For example,
it should not be situated on a bed, sofa, rug or similar surface that may block ventilation openings. Also, it should not be placed in
a built-in installation, such as a bookcase or cabinet, which may impede the flow of air through the ventilation openings.
3. Heat – The unit should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other appliances (including
amplifiers) that produce heat.
4. Power Sources – The unit should be connected to a power supply only of the type described in the operating instructions or as
marked on the appliance.
5. Power-Cable Protection – Power supply cables should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items
placed upon or against them. It is always best to have a clear area from where the cable exits the unit to where it is plugged into
an AC socket.
6. Cleaning – The unit should be cleaned only as recommended. See the Maintenance section of this manual for cleaning instructions.
7. Objects and Liquid Entry – Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled into any openings or vents
located on the product.
8. Attachments – Do not use attachments not recommended by the product manufacturer.
9. Lightning and Power Surge Protection – Unplug the unit from the wall socket and disconnect the antenna or cable system during
a lightning storm or when it is left unattended and unused for long periods of time. This will prevent damage to the product due to
lightning and power-line surges.
10. Overloading – Do not overload wall sockets, extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles as this can result in a risk of fire
or electric shock.
11. Damage Requiring Service – The unit should be serviced by qualified service personnel when:
A. the power supply cable or plug has been damaged.
B. objects have fallen into or liquid has been spilled into the enclosure.
C. the unit has been exposed to rain.
D. the unit has been dropped or the enclosure damaged.
E. the unit exhibits a marked change in performance or does not operate normally.
12. Antenna – Do not connect an external antenna to the unit (other than that provided).
13. Periods of Nonuse – If the unit is to be left unused for an extended period of time, such as a month or longer, the power cable
should be unplugged from the unit to prevent damage or corrosion.
14. Servicing – The user should not attempt to service the unit beyond those methods described in the user’s operating
instructions.
Service methods not covered in the operating instructions should be referred to qualified service personnel.

These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and

However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or

CAN ICES-3 (B)/NMB-3(B)
1. The unit does not power ON.
The unit is not connected to AC outlet, the AC outlet has no power, or is controlled by a wall switch that is “OFF”. Check AC outlet and
wall switch.
2. Alarm does not come on?
The alarm time AM or PM incorrectly set, Alarm was OFF, alarm is not scheduled to come on, etc. Check alarm settings.
3. Low battery indicator is flashing.
Battery has not been installed correctly in the battery compartment or the battery may be weak or exhausted. Try replacing battery.
4. USB port not charging devices.
Unit is not connected to working AC outlet, USB cable is faulty or not properly connected or device requires higher amperage USB
port. Check connections, and device manual to determine if device requires greater than 1 Amp USB port.
5. Unit shuts “Off” unexpectedly.
AC outlet unit is connected to is controlled by a wall switch that is turned OFF. Check mode on unit. Check wall switch. Turn unit on
with Power Button.
6. Unit doesn’t respond (locked up or frozen).
The unit may need to be reset. To do so, unplug the unit from power source and remove the backup battery. Let unit stand for 2
minutes. Re-install backup battery and connect unit to power source. You will need to reset the clock, alarm and any other settings.

workmanship and materials, under normal use and conditions, for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of original purchase.
Should this product fail to function in a satisfactory manner, it is best to first return it to the store where it was originally purchased.
Should this fail to resolve the matter and service still be required by reason of any defect or malfunction during the warranty period,
SDI will repair or, at its discretion, replace this product without charge. This decision is subject to verification of the defect or
malfunction upon delivery of this product to the Factory Service Center authorized by Customer Service.
If service is required, please call Customer Service at 1-800-288-2792 to obtain a Return Authorization Number and shipping
instructions.
Disclaimer of Warranty
NOTE: This warranty is valid only if the product is used for the purpose for which it was designed. It does not cover (i) products
which have been damaged by negligence or willful actions, misuse or accident, or which have been modified or repaired by
unauthorized persons; (ii) cracked or broken cabinets, or units damaged by excessive heat; (iii) damage to digital media players,
CD’s or tape cassettes (if applicable); (iv) the cost of shipping this product to the Factory Service Center and its return to the owner.
This warranty is valid only in the United States of America and does not extend to owners of the product other than to the original
purchaser. In no event will SDI or any of its affiliates, contractors, resellers, their officers, directors,
shareholders, members or agents be liable to you or any third party for any consequential or incidental damages, any lost profits,
actual, exemplary or punitive damages. (Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusion of consequential
damages, so these restrictions may not apply to you.) This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other
rights which vary from state to state.
