Introduction
Introduction
With the successful release of version 4.20 of iBos (Inepro Back Office suite) software, this typically includes DocuPRO,
CashPRO and AccessPRO. Inepro has introduced a high secure fail safe feature. This version of the software release uses
a Software License Box to ensure high availability of the software within an installed environment.
The Software License Box operates as hardware “Dongle” in the system. The purpose of the dongle is a twofold reason (A)
to authenticate the software on the server and (B) to ensure high availability of the software within the installed environment.
In the previous versions of iBos the license was based upon the hardware and installed software in the server. With
virtualisations of servers, it was noted that the Inepro software lost its license due to the changes within the installed
environment in which the license was originally generated.
With the introduction of this Ethernet based Software License Box, we ensure a high availability license key to the
software. The new licenses are based upon the license box instead of the server environment. With this the server
environment can change as long as the Software License Box is accessible, the software will keep operational. For
clustered environments, the inepro Back office suite will continue operational with multiple Software License Boxes.
This new feature enhances “Customer Care” due to a new License Manager that stores all licenses and serial numbers of
the Software License Boxes. Upon requesting a new license, we provide a new license file based upon the serial number of
the Inepro License Box. This also provides the possibility to work in advance of expiry dates. i.e. multiple Software License
Boxes can be ordered as advanced stock. When an order for software is send we can be instructed to assign a license to a
certain Software License Box serial number, this way the end-user customer can have their software quickly installed and
fully functional without delays.
The Inepro License box will ensure the Inepro system will work during the license period and a grace period of 14 days
afterwards

System Overview
System Overview
The License box is connected to the server that runs the Inepro license service, that machine, the licence server will check
if the license box has a valid license. Each component of our system will check with the license server if a valid licence for
that component is present.
Network ports
Our software will use an UDP broadcast over UDP port 10044 on which the license boxes will respond by sending its
license information to the license server at the address in their configuration over TCP port 10044.
So assuming that license box A and license box B both have the server address set to the license (or in the broader sense,
'application') server in the image below, both license boxes will send their respective license information to the license sever
after receiving the UDP broadcast from the Inepro License Configuration Tool

Network Connections
Switch
On the IP controller board there are two network connectors. The IP controller board can be used as a switch because of
the Ethernet switch chip on board and can be placed between a wall outlet and an existing Ethernet device (like a printer or
multi-functional device).
Power over Ethernet (PoE)
If the power supply adapter is used both connectors can be used normally to connect to the wall outlet and the Ethernet
device. But the IP controller board can also be supplied with energy by a Power over Ethernet switch. In this case the
connection from the PoE switch must be made to the "PoE" Ethernet connector, the Ethernet device can be connected to
the "no PoE" connector.

11
If the cables are connected falsely (ie. the PoE switch is connected to the "no PoE" Ethernet connector), nothing will
be damaged. Only that (if no power adapter is connected) that the IP controller won't have energy and will not operate.
Switching the Ethernet cable to the "PoE" connector will activate the IP controller board.
