Pole HMI description
The pole command grip is started by a first press on the trigger (IMPORTANT, the pole
trigger and not the shear trigger)
The LED lights for a few seconds and indicates the battery capacity as per the following
table:
Visual indication battery level
Green steady from 100% to 10%
Red flashing from 10% to 0%
Red steady CR123A battery to be replaced, the pole
is no longer operational.
The grip turns off automatically:
• if the shears are disconnected from the pole.
• if the shears are powered off using the shear on/off button.
• after 10 minutes without use.
• if the battery is disconnected.

13
Telescopic pole length adjustment:
Models P9T120, P9T120B, P9T210B
When the shears are operating on the pole:
• the ½ opening feature is no longer operational, the shears are forced to maximum
opening regardless of which kit is used (standard, medium or maxi).
• The shears only operate in pulse mode.
• The shear DSES safety system is automatically disabled.
• After powering on, a first press on the pole grip trigger disables the shear trigger.

14
Before starting the working day, make sure the battery is sufficiently charged (3 LEDs on
on the pruning shears).
Always disconnect the shears from the pole during operations other than pruning and
ALWAYS WHEN SHARPENING OR LUBRICATING.
Users must be especially careful when the shears are located at the end of the pole in order
to prevent any risks of accidents.
Before any use of the pole, it is essential to read your shears user manual carefully and to
follow all the safety instructions.
IMPORTANT! The pole is made of carbon, a conductive material. Do not
use near sources of electricity or electric wires.
If the shears jam following a succession of jamming
cuts, wait for the blade to open. Do not make
any lateral movements that could damage both
the pole and the shears.
Do not leave the pole, the battery or the shears
on the ground, and do not expose them to bad weather conditions.
Make sure the battery’s protective plastic casing is not cracked and does not seem to have
suffered impacts or other aggressions.
When working, it is normal for the battery temperature to rise.
The recommended use temperature is between -5°C and 35°C
Use outside this temperature range may reduce tool performances.
After using the tool in the rain or in a damp environment, it is strongly recommended to
store the disconnected device outside its case in a heated and ventilated place.
Between two pruning seasons, you do not need to disconnect the battery from the pole
control grip if it is stored away from freezing temperatures and damp.
Precautions for use and safety

General safety warnings concerning the tool.
IMPORTANT. To reduce the risk of electric discharges, injuries and fire when using electric
tools, follow the fundamental safety measures indicated below. Read and follow these
instructions before using the tool, and keep the safety instructions!
Outside operations related to the use of the tool, the pole and its accessories must be
disconnected and stored in their respective packaging.
It is imperative to disconnect the pole from all power sources for the following
operations:
• Servicing.
• Battery charging.
• Maintenance.
• Transport.
• Storage.
Keep all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term” tool” used in warnings
refers to your battery operated tool (with or without a power cord).
1. Work area safety
Keep the work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas are prone to accidents. Never
use the equipment at night or in poor light without setting up additional lighting.
Do not operate electric tools in explosive atmospheres, in the presence of inflammable
liquids, gases or dust for example. Electric tools produce sparks that can ignite dust or
smoke.
Keep children and other people at a distance when using the tool. Distractions can result in
the loss of control over the tool.
2. Electric safety
The plugs on the electric tool must be adapted to the base. Never alter the plug in any way.
Unaltered plugs and suitable bases reduce the risks of electric shocks.
Safety instructions

17
Caution, the poles are made from carbon, a conductor. Do not use near sources of electricity
or electric wires.
Do not expose tools to rain or damp conditions. Water penetrating inside a tool will increase
the risk of electric shocks.
Do not mistreat the power cord. Never use the power cord to carry, pull or disconnect the
tool. Keep the power cord away from heat sources, lubricants, sharp edges or moving parts.
Damaged or tangled power cords increase the risk of electric shocks.
Never carry the charger by the cord, and do not pull on the cord to disconnect it from the
socket.
3. Safety of persons
When the equipment is in operation, always keep your hands well away from the cutting
head.
Before cutting, anticipate the branch’s trajectory once it has been cut, to avoid it falling into
your work zone.
Keep constantly vigilant when using the tool. Do not work with the machine if you are
tired, feeling unwell, under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A small lapse of
concentration when the device is running can lead to serious injuries.
Wear the specific recommended personal protection equipment for each accessory.
Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection.
Safety equipment such as dust masks, non-slip safety footwear, hard hats or ear protection
used in the correct circumstances will reduce the risk of injuries.
Not rushing and staying in a vigilant position at all times allows for better tool control in
unexpected situations.
Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery.
Keep hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts.
Loose clothing, jewellery or long hair can become entangled in moving parts.

18
Warranty conditions
Your tool has a two year warranty for manufacturing defects or faults.
The warranty applies to the normal use of the tool and does not cover:
- damage due to poor maintenance or lack of maintenance,
- damage due to incorrect use,
- wear parts,
- tools that have been taken apart by unauthorised repairers,
- external factors (fire, flood, lightning, etc.),
- impacts and their consequences,

Advice
Keep your work area tidy. Clutter in work areas increases risks of accidents.
Take into account the work zone. Do not expose electric tools to rain. Do not use electric
tools in a damp or wet environment. Make sure the work area is properly lit. Do not use
electric tools near inflammable liquids or gases.
Protect yourself from electric shocks. Avoid bodily contact with surfaces connected to
the earth, such as battery chargers, electric multi-plugs, etc.
Keep away from children! Do not allow third parties to touch the tool or cable. Keep
them away from your work area.
Store your tools in a safe location. When not in use, tools must be stored in a dry,
locked location in their original packaging and out of the reach of children.
Wear suitable work clothing. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery. It could be
caught up in moving parts. When working in the open air, wearing rubber gloves and non-
slip sole footwear is recommended. If your hair is long, wear a hair net.
Wear protective eye-wear. Also wear a mask if the work being carried out generates
dust.
Protect the power cord. Do not carry the tool using its cord and do not pull on the cord
to disconnect it from the socket. Protect the cord from heat, oil and sharp edges.
Maintain your tools carefully. Regularly check the plug and power cord condition and,
if they are damaged, have them replaced by a recognised specialist. Keep your tool dry and
free of oil.
Remove the tool keys. Before starting the machine, make sure the keys and adjustment
tools have been removed.
Check your tool for damage. Before reusing the tool, carefully check that the safety
systems or slightly damaged parts are in perfect working order.
Have your tool repaired by a specialist. This tool is compliant with applicable safety
rules. All repairs must be carried out by a specialist and only using original parts, failure to
do so could result in serious risks to user safety.
