Thismanual contains instructions and technical data to cover all
routineoperation and scheduled maintenance tasks by operation and
maintenancestaff. Major overhauls are outside the scope of this
manualand should be referred to an authorised Ingersoll–Rand service
department.
Thedesign specification of this machine has been certified as
complyingwith EC directives. As a result:
(a)Any machine modifications are strictly prohibited, and will invalidate
EC certification.
(b)Thismachine must not be used in USA/Canada. (Where EC
certificationis not valid, and other certification will be required.)
All components, accessories, pipes and connectors added to the
compressedair system should be:
.ofgood quality, procured from a reputable manufacturer and,
whereverpossible, be of a type approved by Ingersoll–Rand.
.clearlyrated for a pressure at least equal to the machine maximum
allowableworking pressure.
.compatible with the compressor lubricant/coolant.
.accompaniedwith instructions for safe installation, operation and
maintenance.
Details of approved equipment are available from Ingersoll–Rand
Service departments.
Theuse of repair parts / lubricants / fluids other than those included
withinthe Ingersoll–Rand approved parts list may create hazardous
conditionsover which Ingersoll–Rand has no control. Therefore
Ingersoll–Randcannot be held responsible for equipment in which
non–approvedrepair parts are installed.
Ingersoll–Randreserves the right to make changes and
improvementsto products without notice and without incurring any
obligationto make such changes or add such improvements to
productssold previously.
Theintended uses of this machine are outlined below and examples
ofunapproved usage are also given, however Ingersoll–Rand cannot
anticipate every application or work situation that may arise.

Thismachine has been designed and supplied for use only in the
followingspecified conditions and applications:
.Compressionof normal ambient air containing no known or
detectableadditional gases, vapours. or particles
.Operationwithin the ambient temperature range specified in the
GENERAL INFORMATION
section of this manual.
.Generationof electricity at110 volts or 220 volts nominal at 50 Hertz
withcentre tap earth.

The use of the machine in any of the situation types listed in
table 1:–
a)Is not approved by Ingersoll–Rand,
b)May impair the safety of users and other persons, and
c)May prejudice any claims made against Ingersoll–Rand.

Use of unsafe or unserviceable electrical equipment connected to

EXTENDED LIMITED AIREND WARRANTY
Ingersoll–RandPortable Compressor Division is pleased to
announce the availability of extended limited airend warranty.
Announcementof the extended warranty coincides with the
introductionof Pro–TecCompressor Fluid. Pro–TecCompressor
Fluidis an amber coloured fluid specially formulated for Portable
Compressorsand is being provided as the factory filled fluid for all
machines.
Allmachines have the standard airend warranty –

months from shipment to, or the accumulation of 4000 hours of service
by the initial user

Thewarranty against defects will include replacement of the
completeAirend, provided the original Airend is returned assembled
andunopened.
Theoptional limited warranty is the earlier of 60 months from
shipmentto, or the accumulation of 10,000 hours of service. The
optionalwarranty is limited to defects in major components (rotors,
housings,gears and bearings), and is automatically available when the
followingconditions are met:
1.The original airend is returned assembled and unopened.
2.Submissionsof proof that Ingersoll–Rand fluid, filters and
separatorshave been used. Refer to the Operation and Parts manual
for the correct fluids, filters and separator elements required.
3.Submissionsof proof that maintenance intervals have been
followed.
