ZUR KALIBRIERUNG
Jeder Alkoholtester, der bei ACE Instruments gekauft wurde,
kann auch von ACE Instruments kalibriert werden. Selbst-
verständlich kalibrieren wir auch Geräte, die woanders
gekauft wurden, sofern diese Geräte baugleich zu den von
ACE Instruments vertriebenen Geräten sind.
Sie sehen das Fälligkeitsdatum der nächsten Kalibrierung
am Kalibrier-Aufkleber auf Ihrem Alkoholtester. Wenn der
Aufkleber fehlt, dann sollte die Kalibrierung 6 Monate nach
dem Kauf-datum erfolgen:
z.B. Kaufdatum: 13.05. = nächste Kalibrierung am 13.11. und
danach am 13.05. des folgenden Jahres.
Sie können das Gerät zum Kalibrieren an die unter
www.alkomat.net angegebene Service-Adresse senden.
WARUM IST EINE KALIBRIERUNG NOTWENDIG?
Die Kalibrierung muss nicht zwingend vorgenommen
werden, die Genauigkeit des integrierten Sensors nimmt
jedoch ohne Kalibrierung stetig ab und zusätzlich erlischt
die Garantie, wenn die Kalibrier-Intervalle nicht einge-
halten werden.
WELCHE FAKTOREN DIE MESSGENAUIGKEIT
BEEINFLUSSEN
• Je öfter das Alkoholtestgerät verwendet wird,
desto stärker verschiebt sich der Nullpunkt.
• Bei hohen Alkoholkonzentrationen verschiebt
sich der Nullpunkt verstärkt.
• Bei wenig bis gar nicht genutzten Geräten nimmt
die Empfindlichkeit des Sensors ebenso ab.
ACE Instruments empfiehlt, mindestens ein Mal (1x) pro
Woche einen Test mit dem Alkoholtester durchzuführen,
unabhängig davon, ob man Alkohol getrunken hat. Zum
Erhalt der Messgenauigkeit sollte das Gerät außerdem
regelmäßig kalibriert werden.

WICHTIGE HINWEISE ZUR TESTDURCHFÜHRUNG
UND ZUR SELBSTEINSCHÄTZUNG
Nach dem letzten Schluck Alkohol sollte man mindestens
15 Minuten warten, da sich noch Restalkohol in der Mund-
höhle befinden kann, der das Messergebnis beeinflusst.
Rauchen sollte vor einem Test ebenso vermieden werden,
da Zigarettenrauch dem Sensor schadet.
Für jeden Test sollte man ein neues Mundstück ver-
wenden – nicht nur aus hygienischen Gründen, sondern
auch, weil ein bereits benutztes Mundstück das nächste
Messergebnis beeinflussen kann. Im Mundstück könnte
sich Restalkohol befinden, der bei einem erneuten
Gebrauch desselben Mundstückes das neue Testergebnis
beeinflusst (damit würde z.B. bei einer nüchternen Person
eventuell eine Alkoholisierung angezeigt werden).
Wenn am Display „FLo“ angezeigt wird, dann war die
abgegebene Atemprobe nicht ausreichend oder sie wurde
zu früh beendet. Pusten Sie bei Ihrer Atemprobe zirka
4 Sekunden konstant und am besten so, als ob Sie ohne
Ton pfeifen würden. Die Atemprobe ist beendet, sobald ein
zweifacher Piepton zu hören ist.
Wenn dieselbe Person 2 Tests hintereinander ausführt, dann
sollte sie zwischen den beiden Tests mindestens 3 Minuten
warten, da bei zu kurzer Wartezeit zu unterschiedliche
Messwerte angezeigt werden können. Die aus der Lunge
ausgeatmete Luft ist nach einem Test nicht mehr mit dem
gleichen Alkoholgehalt angereichert wie beim kurz davor
durchgeführten Test. Darum wird ein sofortiger zweiter Test
einen geringeren Messwert anzeigen.
Alle mit diesem Alkoholtester ermittelten Messwerte sind
stets nur ein Richtwert und nicht rechtsverbindlich.
WARUM DIE GEFÜHLTE ALKOHOLISIERUNG
UND DAS MESSERGEBNIS OFT NICHT
ÜBEREINSTIMMEN (KÖNNEN)
Bei einem Alkoholtest gibt es sehr viele verschiedene
Faktoren, die die Höhe des Messwertes beeinflussen. Dazu
zählen neben dem Geschlecht, Alter, der Körpergröße und
dem Körpergewicht auch der Körperfettanteil sowie die
Höhe des Anteils an Körperflüssigkeit.
Darüber hinaus sind auch der allgemeine physische und
psychische Zustand bzw. die jeweilige Tagesverfassung
zu berücksichtigen. Außerdem können die Art der Mahl-
zeiten vor dem Test (Art des Inhalts und Füllstand des
Magens) und die Einnahme von Medikamenten den
Messwert beeinflussen.
Zu den weiteren Einfluss-Faktoren gehören natürlich die
Getränkeart (Prozentanteil des Alkoholgehaltes im Getränk
sowie dessen Kohlensäure- und Zuckergehalt), die Trink-
geschwindigkeit und die von der Testperson abhängige,
individuelle Dauer in Bezug auf den Alkohol-Aufbau bzw.
den Alkohol-Abbau im Körper.
Manche Menschen haben schnell einen erhöhten
Alkoholgehalt im Blut, bei anderen dauert es länger bis
eine Alkoholisierung feststellbar ist. Etwa 40-50% des
konsumierten Alkohols befinden sich innerhalb von
15 Minuten im Körper, nach 30 Minuten sind es 65% und
nach spätestens 70 Minuten ist der zuvor konsumierte
Alkohol zu 100% im Körper aufgenommen. Zu beachten ist
dabei aber auch, dass manche Menschen – teils genetisch
bedingt – den Alkoholgehalt im Blut schnell wieder abbau-
en, wogegen andere auch nach einem längeren Zeitraum
noch einen erhöhten Alkoholgehalt im Blut aufweisen.

IMPORTANT NOTES ON THE CALIBRATION
Each breathalyzer which you buy from ACE Instruments
can also be calibrated by ACE Instruments. Of course,
we also calibrate devices which were bought from other
contractors, as long as these devices are identical in
construction to the devices sold by ACE Instruments.
You can see the due date of the next calibration on the
calibration sticker placed on your breathalyzer. If the sticker
is missing, the calibration is to be done 6 months after the
purchase date: e.g. purchase date: 13.05. = next calibration
on the 13.11. and the next on the 13.05. of the following year.
For a calibration service you can send the device to the
service address specified at www.alkomat.net.
WHY IS A CALIBRATION NECESSARY?
The calibration is not mandatory, but the accuracy of the
sensor installed in the breathalyzer will decrease steadily
without a calibration and additionally guarantee expires, if
you don`t pay attention to the calibration ranges.
WHICH FACTORS INFLUENCE THE MEASUREMENT
ACCURACY
• The more often the device is used the more the zero
point is influenced.
• The higher the alcohol concentration is, the more the
zero point is relocated.
• Devices which are used rarely have a decreased
sensibility, too.
ACE Instruments recommends using the breathalyzer at
least once (1x) a week independently of having drunken
alcohol or not. To maintain the measurement accuracy, the
breathalyzer should also be calibrated periodically.

IMPORTANT NOTES ON TEST EXECUTION AND
SELF-ASSESSMENT
After the last sip of alcohol you should wait at least 15 minutes,
as there may still be residual alcohol in the oral cavity, which
influences the measurement result. Also smoking should be
avoided before a test, as cigarette smoke harms the sensor.
For each test you should use a new mouthpiece – not only
for hygienic reasons, but also because an already used
mouthpiece can influence the next measurement result. The
mouthpiece could contain residual alcohol, which would
aect the new test result when the same mouthpiece is used
again (this for example could show an alcoholization of a
person who hasn`t drunken any alcohol).
If „Flo“ appears on the display, the given breath sample was
insuicient or ended too soon. Blow into the moutpiece for
about 4 seconds constantly (without a break) – preferably
as if you were whistling without a sound.
If the same person performs 2 tests consecutively, then
wait at least 3 minutes between the two tests, as a too short
waiting time may cause dierent measurement results. The
air exhaled from the lungs is, after a test, no longer enriched
with the same alcohol content as in the previous test.
Therefore, an immediate second test will indicate a lower
test result.
All measured values determined with this breathalyzer are
always indicative and not legally binding.
WHY THE ESTIMATED ALCOHOLIZATION AND THE
MEASUREMENT RESULT IN MOST CASES CANNOT
MATCH
An alcohol test is aected by a lot of dierent factors which
also aect the test result. Beside the gender, age, body size
and body weight, also the body fat percentage and the
amount of body fluid have a big influence.
In addition, the general physical and mental state or
the current daily constitution have to be taken into
consideration. Furthermore, the meals eaten before a
breath test (type of content and level of the stomach) and
the intake of medication may influence the measurement.
Other influencing factors are, of course, the type of drink
(percentage of alcohol content in the beverage and its
carbon dioxide and sugar content), the drinking rate and
the individual subject‘s duration of alcohol build-up or
degradation in the body.
Some people quickly have a high alcohol content in
the blood, with other people it takes longer until an
alcoholization is detected. About 40-50% of the consumed
alcohol is in the body within 15 minutes, after 30 minutes it is
65% and after 70 minutes the previously consumed alcohol
is 100% absorbed in the body. However, it should also be
noted that some people – partly due to genetic factors –
quickly reduce the alcohol content in the blood, whereas
others still have an increased alcohol content in the blood
after a longer period of time.
