Instructions
1. Turnoffpoweranddisconnectthe
audio/videoequipmentbyfollowingthe
manufacturer’sinstructions.
2. Makecertainthatoutletsandcrossconnects
towhichyouwillconnecttheDIGI‐HD‐IR2are
configuredproperlyandlabeledcorrectlyto
identifythepoint‐to‐pointcircuit.
3. Verifythedesiredtwistedpairsarenotbeing
usedforotherLANortelephonyequipment.
4. Verifythatthesourceanddestination
equipmentworkwhendirectlyconnected
withHDMIcables.BesuretotestbothHDMI
cablesrequiredforsysteminstallation.
5. ConnecttheIRemittertotheDIGI‐HD‐IR2
sendextender.
6. ConnecttheDIGI‐HD‐IR2transmittertothe
HDMIoutputofthevideosource.Donot
connectthe5Vpowersupply.
7. ConnecttheIRreceivertotheDIGI‐HD‐IR2
receiveextender.
8. ConnecttheDIGI‐HD‐IR2receivertothe
HDMIinputofthereceivingdeviceatthe
remoteend.Donotconnectthe5Vpower
supply.
9. Completetheconnectionbetweenthe
transmitandreceiveextendersusingtwo
runsoftwistedpaircable.Ensurethecable
conformstoEIA568Bcrimpstandardsand
therearenosplitpairsortaps.
10. Connectthe5VpowersupplytotheDIGI‐HD‐
IR2receiver.
11. Connectthe5VpowersupplytotheDIGI‐HD‐
IR2transmitter.Power‐onthevideo
equipment.
12. Verifypicturequality.
13. Ifnecessary,adjusttheDIPswitchesonthe
transmitandreceiveextenderstoselect
modesofoperation.
Caution: To minimize the possibility of equipment damage
from electrostatic discharge (ESD), all source and destination
equipment must be powered off during installation.
Caution: Do not connect the extender to a
telecommunication outlet wired to unrelated equipment.
Doing so may damage the unit or any connected equipment.
