Unpacking
Although your PV-6232 is neither complicated nor difficult to operate, we recommend you take a few minutes to
read this brief manual and familiarize yourself with the important information regarding product features, setup
and operation.
As with most electronic devices, we strongly recommend you retain the original packaging. In the unlikely event
the product must be returned for servicing, the original packaging (or reasonable equivalent) is required.

Never place this product in an environment which could alter its performance or reduce its service life. Such
environments usually include high levels of heat, dust, moisture, and vibration.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades
with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide
blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult
an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and
the point where they exit from the apparatus.
11. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
12. Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus.
When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.
13. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
14. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the
apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is
damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the

Features
- REPRODUCTION METHOD AND SOUND QUALITY
Can reproduce and record high sound quality of sound source by using 256kbps transmission rate on MP3 method.
- STORAGE CAPACITY
PV-6232 can record sound for a long time by adopting the built-in flash memory up to 1Gbyte.
(100Mbyte or so is capacity required for operating the system. Total file capacity for downloading from a
PC or recording should not exceed 900Mbyte when using.)
Scalability of saving capacity is excellent with outside USB memory interface.
- INTERFACE FUNCTION WITH A PC USING THE USB TERMINAL
This product can perform interface with a PC through USB communication and it is easy to upload and
download MP3 files from a PC.
- DISPLAY FUNCTION
Various functions can be indicated by adopting vacuum fluorescent display.
- ENTRY FUNCTION
It is convenient to record since there is an entry terminal of CD, AUX, MIC on the front and rear side.
- AUTO PLAY FUNCTION
When AC or DC power is supplied, the EMORG.mp3 file in the IMSND folder is played automatically.

1. USB PORT
This is a terminal used for uploading or downloading MP3 files from a PC by connecting an USB cable, or
operating this unit with USB memory mounted.
In connection with a PC with an USB cable, no function buttons operate, to play stored files, remove the
cable connected to a PC.
NOTE : For mounting the USB memory, function buttons operate for USB memory and it cannot play files
contained in the built-in memory. To play files stored in the built-in memory, remove the USB
memory.

(SKIP DOWN/UP) BUTTON
This is a button to select previous or next file during play.

(PLAY/PAUSE) BUTTON
Pressing this button one time will play the voice or music. Pressing this button a second time will PAUSE the unit.
4. (STOP) BUTTON
Pressing this button will stop playing or recording.
5. REC/PAUSE BUTTON
This is used for recording or pause.
6. REPEAT BUTTON
This button is used when repeatedly playing a file.
Press the button long (about 3 sec) in Standby, you can set AUTO PLAY (ON/OFF). (See to page 8)

7. DELETE BUTTON
This button is to delete files stored in memory.
Press the DELETE button and then select a file to delete with the

button. If pressing the ENTER
button, the relevant files are deleted.
8. ENTER BUTTON
This button is used in conjunction with the DELETE button to remove files from memory.
9. DUAL FUNCTION LEVEL INDICATOR
While recording, the meter shows the Input signal level. During playback the meter shows the output signal level.
10. INPUT LEVEL VOLUME
The position of this control knob determines the strength of the input signal while recording (amplitude is
shown on the LED level indicator). Turning the knob clockwise will increase the level, turning it counter-
clockwise will decrease the level.
11. STATUS DISPLAY
This window displays various operation information of this unit.
12. HEADPHONE OUTPUT JACK
Headphones can be connected to this jack to monitor the sound during record or playback modes.
13. MIC INPUT JACK
The input accepts a 1/4 balanced (or unbalanced) microphone (for recording a voice message).

1. AC CONNECTOR AND FUSE HOLDER
Connect the supplied standard AC input cable to this input. The fuse holder below the input contains the AC
overload protection fuse. If the fuse has blown out, replace it with a fuse of the same type and rating. If the
fuse continues to blow, refer servicing to a qualified service technician.
2. DC INPUT TERMINALS
This is a DC +24V power input terminal to operate this unit by connecting with DC power. Make sure to
check voltage and (+), (-) polarity before connection.
3. SERIAL PORT (to PW-6242A)
This is a terminal to connect with our product PW-6242A and can control this unit according to schedule
memorized in PW-6242A.
The maximum cable length of RS-232C is 15m (50 feet).
4. CD INPUT JACK
This input accepts a CD player (or other unbalanced line-level source) for the purpose of recording (storing)
an audio signal.
5. AUX INPUT JACK
This input accepts a cassette deck (or other unbalanced line-level source) for the purpose of recording
(storing) an audio signal.
6. OUTPUT (BALANCED)
This output connects to a paging system (or sound system) that will broadcast the selected audio program signal(s).

Operation
Operation
1. Play / Pause
This function to play or pause files stored in memory.
1) Press the PLAY button (

) after selecting file number with the (

button to play files.
2) PLAY or NEXT button is played if pressing the (
II)
button during play.
3) Press the (

) button once during play to pause, and press the button once more to stop.
4) Press the ( STOP) button to stop.
2. Recording
Function to record sound source from CD, Deck and tuner, etc.
1) If pressing the REC/PAUSE button, “RECORD WAITING” is displayed in the display window and a
REC/PAUSE button LED flashes to nodify it is ready to record.
2) If ready for recording is completed, “RECORD PAUSE” is displayed in the display window.
3) If pressing the REC/PAUSE button again, recording time is displayed in the display window while starting
to record.
4) If pressing the REC/PAUSE button to pause during record, “RECORD PAUSE” is displayed in the display
window.
5) If pressing the REC/PAUSE button once again, Recording continues to proceed. If using this method, you
can make a sound source file by recording the desiring portion.
6) Pressing the ( STOP) button will terminate recording.
7) If pressing the PLAY (

) button after termination, recording is played from the part last recorded.
3. Delete
This is a function to delete files saved in memory.
1) To delete, press the DELETE button and select a file with the (
II)
button and then press the ENTER
button in order to delete.
2) To cancel DELETE, press the ( STOP) button.
3) If all music saved in memory are deleted, “NO FILE” is displayed in the display window.
4. Repeat
This function allows you to repeatedly play files during play.
1) REPEAT OFF
The unit stops after playing a file if playing the file with “REPEAT” turned off.
2) REPEAT
“REPEAT” is displayed on the display window and a file during play is loaped repeatedly if pressing the
REPEAT button once.
3) REPEAT ALL
“REPEAT ALL” is displayed on the display window and all files during play are repeated if pressing the
REPEAT button twice.
5. Upload / Download (MP3 File)
This is interface function to connect a PC with this unit, to upload or download MP3 files from a PC.
1) If connecting a PC with the USB port on the front of this unit using USB cables, a PC automatically
recognizes it (WINDOWS 2000, WINDOWS XP).
“USB DEVICE” is displayed in the display window of this unit in this time and a mobile disc driver appears.
(Length of USB cable is maximum 2m.)

2) You can upload, download or delete MP3 files by double-clicking a movable disc.
NOTE : 1) If OS is based on WINDOWS 98, you must install a separate USB driver.
For the relevant USB driver and installation manual, you can download them from our homepage
(www.inter-m.com).
4 folders are automatically created in the “INTER-M” folder of the inner memory when
recording, and this folder is the part used by operation program. To use a folder in this
product, do not use a “INTER-M” folder not create a separate and different folder to use.
To remove the cable connected to a PC and this unit, first stop a “Large capacity USB storage”
using “SAFELY REMOVE HARDWARE” program from a PC, and remove the cable after
checking message for safely removing hardware. If failing to use such procedure, working data
and product may be damaged.
6. AUTO PLAY
When AC or DC power is supplied, the EMORG.mp3 file in the IMSND folder is played automatically.
1) Press the REPEAT button long (3 sec), you can see the setting in the display.
2) Press SKIP UP and it is turned on and Press SKIP DOWN and it is turned off.
3) After select ON or OFF, press ENTER then the setting is saved. (Initial setting is OFF)
4) If the Setting is ON, then you can see AUTO on upper of the display.
5) After connecting USB port to PC, save the file (MP3) which you want to auto-play in the IMSND folder with
named "EMORG.mp3".
NOTE : If the file name and the folder are not consisted correctly, then the file is not played.
Below folder is created automatically in Recording, if there is not, please make
the folder same as below.
7. BAUD RATE SETTING
Correct Baud Rate should be set to connect PW-642/9642/6242a or PW-9242N/ER-6116.
If the setting is not correct, you can't control SCHEDULE.
1) Press STOP button long, you can see the current Baud Rate on the display.
2) Select the Baud Rate as below to match the model with

(SKIP UP) or

(SKIP DOWN) button.
Initial setting is 19200bps.
3) After selection, press ENTER, then the setting is saved. On setting, press DELETE, then setting is canceled.
