After you remove the CK60 Handheld Computer Snap-On Serial Adapter (Model AA5) from
its shipping box, save the box and packing material in case you need to ship or store the
computer. The Serial Adapter shipping box should contain these items:
• CK60 Handheld Computer snap-on serial adapter
• CK60 serial adapter instructions
• Compliance insert
The serial snap-on adapter allows quick and easy attachment of the serial cable to the
CK60 handheld computer. Two metal guides ensure proper alignment of the adapter to
the handheld computer; spring clips hold the adapter securely in place.
The serial adapter provides screw locks to attach either a serial cable or a serial bar code
scanner.
A power connector on the serial adapter allows connection of an external power supply is
provided to the CK60 without removing the adapter.
Output power (500 mA @ 5V) on Pin 9 of the serial connector powers selected Intermec
handheld scanners.
Compatible scanners: 1551, 1553, 1555, 1800 Series, and 1470 Intermec scanners.

You must remove the serial adapter from the CK60 to insert the handheld computer
into a dock.
To attach the serial adapter:
• Align metal clips with guides on either side of the CK60 and press firmly. The adapter
latches into place.
To remove the serial adapter:
• Squeeze the finger grips on both sides of the serial adapter to disengage clips and
pull the serial adapter away from the handheld computer.
