Foreseeable Misuse
This is a motorized ice auger powerhead that drills into ice. It
has an electric motor that powers the ice auger blades. It shall
not be used for any other purpose.

UNPACKING AND ASSEMBLY
TO ASSEMBLE THE AUGER TO THE POWERHEAD:
1. Remove the allen wrench that is attached to the auger shaft
near the top with tape.
2. Insert the allen wrench into the bolt at the top of the auger
and remove by turning counter-clockwise.
3. Remove the protective plastic cap from the drive shaft. Insert
the drive shaft of the powerhead into the collar of the auger
assembly. SEE FIGURE 1.
4. Align the hole in the auger shaft with the hole in the powerhead
shaft. Tighten firmly, turning clockwise. There may be some

tight, disassembly may be difficult.
TO CHARGE BATTERY FOR FIRST USE:
 
light should appear on the charger. Always connect charger
to standard 110 or 240-volt wall outlet before inserting
battery. SEE FIGURE 2.
2. Charge the battery until the light on the charger turns solid
green.
3 To disconnect the battery, remove the plug from the wall
outlet then disconnect the battery from charger.
NOTE: Do not leave the battery on the charger after the
charge is complete. Unplug the charger from the wall and
remove the battery.
TO INSTALL BATTERY:
1. Slide the battery onto the powerhead until it is fully seated.
2. Pull the rubber hold-down strap over the battery to keep the
battery securely on the powerhead.
IMPORTANT
BATTERY MUST BE FULLY CHARGED PRIOR TO FIRST
USE.

OPERATION
The Ion™ is powered using the 36-volt battery supplied with the unit.
1. Make sure your footing is secure and that you have the unit in
the vertical position firmly in your hands.
2. Slide the operating lock button, then squeeze the operating
trigger. Following a two-second safety delay, the auger will
then start drilling. SEE FIGURE 3.
3. To stop the auger, release the operating switch.
4. When the auger is not in use, remove the battery.
NOTE: When the auger is not in use, be sure to situate
the auger so that electronic components (battery, motor,
switch, etc.) are away from water, snow or other moisture.
BATTERY CHARGING AND MONITORING
1. Remove the rubber battery hold-down strap by pulling it
towards the motor. SEE FIGURE 4.
2. Remove the battery by sliding it off of the powerhead.
3. Plug the charger into a 110/240AC outlet.
4. Slide the battery into the charger.
5. The charge indicator light should blink green. SEE FIGURE 5.
6.When indicator light is lit solid green, the battery is fully charged.
7. Once the battery has been fully charged, unplug the charger
from the wall.
8. Remove the battery from the charger.
9. Place the battery back onto the powerhead when ready to use.
10. Pull the rubber battery hold-down strap back over battery.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
Read the maintenance schedule and observe these

inspection procedures, and simple maintenance procedures
using basic hand tools.
Other service tasks that are more difficult, or require special
tools, are best handled by professionals and are normally
performed by a technician or other qualified mechanic.
The maintenance schedule applies to normal operating
conditions. If you operate your powerhead under unusual
conditions, such as sustained high-load, or use in unusually wet
conditions, consult Ion™ customer service for recommendations
applicable to your individual needs and use.

LONGTERM STORAGE

Steps for Long Term Storage
1. Charge the battery and leave it off of the unit. DO NOT leave
the battery on the charger. Store the battery in temperatures
between 40˚ F- 120˚ F.
2. Remove the auger from the powerhead and apply a thin layer
of grease to the drive shaft. SEE FIGURE 1.
3. Remove all debris from auger and powerhead.
4. Attach the blade protector to bottom of auger.
 
Connect the battery to the charger every three months to ensure

Warranty Terms and Conditions
PRODUCT WARRANTY: 2YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY*
Ardisam, Inc., warrants this ION™ICE AUGER POWERHEAD to be free from defects in the material or workmanship for a period
of two years from the date of purchase. During the two-year warranty of this product, Ardisam will furnish, at their discretion,
parts and labor to correct any defect caused by faulty material or workmanship. Any unit used in a commercial application is
covered for a period of 90 days after purchase. This warranty applies to the original owner with a proof of purchase and is not
transferable. For the warranty to be valid, the product must be registered online, or the warranty card must be lled out and
received by Ardisam, Inc., within 30 days of purchase.
BATTERY WARRANTY: 1YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY*
Ardisam, Inc., warrants its Ion™ battery under a one-year limited warranty to be free from defects in materials and workmanship

purchase by the first retail consumer or commercial end user, and continues for the period of time stated above. Any unit used
in a commercial application is covered for a period of 90 days after purchase. For the warranty to be valid, the product must be
registered online, or the warranty card must be filled out and received by Ardisam, Inc., within 30 days of purchase.
*These warranties apply only to products which have not been subjected to negligent use, misuse, uses other than those indicated
in the product’s owner’s manual, alteration, accident, use of unauthorized parts, failure to perform periodic maintenance as
specified in product’s owner’s manual, normal wear and tear, or repairs performed at non-authorized service centers. These

does not assume, and does not authorize any other person to assume for us, any liability in connection with the sale of our
products. To obtain warranty service, you must have prior approval by calling our customer service department at 1-800-
345-6007. If you choose to ship your product to Ardisam for warranty repair, you must first have prior approval from Ardisam
by calling our customer service department for a return material authorization number (RMA#). Under these circumstances,
all items must be shipped prepaid. Ardisam will at no charge, repair or replace, at their discretion, any defective part which
falls under the conditions stated above. Ardisam retains the right to change models, specifications and price without notice.

DÉBALLAGE ET ASSEMBLAGE
POUR MONTER LA TARIÈRE SUR LE BLOC MOTEUR :
1. Sortir la clé Allen qui est attachée près du haut de l’arbre de tarière
avec du ruban adhésif.
2. Insérer la clé Allen dans le boulon au sommet de la tarière et le
déposer en tournant dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d’une montre.
3. Déposer le capuchon protecteur en plastique de l’arbre


1. Brancher le chargeur sur une prise de courant standard de 110 ou

2. Charger la batterie jusqu’à ce que le voyant vert du chargeur soit
allumé en continu.

puis retirer la batterie du chargeur.
REMARQUE : Ne pas laisser la batterie sur le chargeur une fois que
la charge est terminée. Débrancher le chargeur de la prise murale
et retirer la batterie.
POUR METTRE EN PLACE LA BATTERIE:
1. Enfiler la batterie à fond dans le bloc moteur.
2. Tirer la sangle de retenue en caoutchouc sur la batterie pour la
maintenir solidement dans le bloc moteur.
IMPORTANT
LA BATTERIE DOIT ÊTRE COMPLÈTEMENT CHARGÉE
AVANT LA PREMIÈRE UTILISATION.

UTILISATION
La tarière Ion™ est alimentée par la batterie 36 V fournie avec la
machine.
1. Veiller à avoir les pieds solidement campés sur le sol et à tenir
fermement la machine entre les mains en position verticale.
2. Faire coulisser le bouton de blocage de gâchette puis serrer la
gâchette de commande. La tarière commence à forer au bout d’un

3. Pour arrêter la tarière, relâcher la gâchette de commande.
4. Lorsque la tarière n’est pas utilisée, retirer la batterie.
REMARQUE : Lorsque la tarière n’est pas utilisée, veiller à placer
la machine de manière à garder les composants électroniques
(batterie, moteur, gâchette, etc.) à l’écart de l’eau, la neige et
autre source d’humidité.
CHARGE ET CONTRÔLE DE LA BATTERIE
1. Dégager la sangle de retenue de batterie en caoutchouc en la
tirant vers le moteur. VOIR FIGURE 4.
 
3. Brancher le chargeur sur une prise de courant réseau de 110/240V.
4. Enfiler la batterie dans le chargeur.
5. Le voyant indicateur de charge doit clignoter en vert. VOIR
FIGURE 5.
6. Lorsque le voyant indicateur vert brille en continu, la batterie est
complètement chargée.
7. Une fois que la batterie est complètement chargée, débrancher le
chargeur de la prise murale.
8. Retirer la batterie du chargeur.
9. Remettre la batterie dans le bloc moteur avant utilisation.
10. Tirer la sangle de retenue de batterie en caoutchouc sur la batterie.
ENTRETIEN ET ENTREPOSAGE
Lire le calendrier d’entretien et respecter les délais préconisés pour
étendre la durée de service de la tarière électrique.
Un bon entretien est indispensable à un fonctionnement sûr,
économique et sans panne de la machine. Pour assurer des soins
corrects du bloc moteur, les pages suivantes comportent un calendrier
d’entretien, des instructions de contrôle courant et des instructions
d’entretien élémentaire au moyen d’outils à mains de base.
Il est préférable de confier à des professionnels les tâches d’entretien
ou de réparation plus difficiles ou nécessitant un outillage spécial et qui
sont normalement effectuées par un technicien ou autre mécanicien
qualifié.
Le calendrier d’entretien s’applique à des conditions normales
d’utilisation. Si le bloc moteur est utilisé dans des conditions
inhabituelles, notamment sous une charge élevée soutenue ou dans
des conditions inhabituellement humides, obtenir des conseils relatifs à
ces besoins et emplois particuliers auprès du service après-vente d’Ion™.

Préparation à l’entreposage à long terme
1. Charger la batterie et la laisser hors de la machine. NE PAS laisser la
batterie dans le chargeur. Entreposer la batterie à des températures
comprises entre 5 ˚C et 50 ˚C.
2. Retirer la tarière du bloc moteur et enduire l’arbre du moteur d’une
fine couche de graisse. VOIR FIGURE 1.
3. Éliminer tous débris de la tarière et du bloc moteur.
4. Attacher le protège-lame au bas de la tarière.
5. Conserver dans un endroit sec.
Placer la batterie dans le chargeur tous les trois mois pour la maintenir
à pleine charge durant un entreposage prolongé.
