Step 1
Remove the Spindle
Screw by turning it
counter-clockwise with
a flat bladed screw
driver.
Step 2
Remove the Dragknob
by turning it by hand
counter-clockwise until
you can remove it.
The dragspring and
dragknob washer may
follow the dragknob
out of the reel.
Dragknob - MAINTENANCE - Remove old grease and any grit. Clean center
threads using a Q-Tip or a small cloth. Apply a small amount of grease to the
back of the dragknob. Apply a small amount of grease to the internal
threads.
Spindle Screw - MAINTENANCE -Remove old grease and any grit. Apply a
very small amount of grease around the threads.
Pawl Assembly(ies) - MAINTENANCE - Remove old oil and any grit. Soapy
water and a tooth brush work the best. Rinse with fresh water. Apply a drop
of oil around the pawl(s) (ref. 16) and around the pawl springs (ref.17 and 18).
Clutch Assembly - MAINTENANCE - Remove old grease and any grit from the
bearing (ref. 19), inside and out. Apply a small amount of grease to the
bearing. Remove old grease from between the teeth of the clutch (ref. 20).
Apply a small amount of grease between the teeth.

Handle Assembly(ies) - MAINTENANCE - The handle assemblies need very little
maintenance. You may notice a black powder develop after long and extreme use.
This is normal. If your handles start to stick, you can remove the handle from the
base (ref. 21) by undoing the handle screw (ref. 23) and remove any grit. No
lubrication is required.
Clicker Assembly - MAINTENANCE -Remove old oil and any grit. Soapy water and
a tooth brush work the best. Rinse with fresh water. Apply a drop of oil through
each hole on the clicker and around the screw head (ref. 23) and a small amount of
oil around the clicker spring (ref. 24).
Rear Spool Bearing - MAINTENANCE - Remove old grease and any grit with a dry
cloth or one with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol (at least 70% USP). Apply a
small amount of grease to the exposed bearing shield.

C. HOW TO REASSEMBLE YOUR REEL
Reassembly is the opposite of disassembly. Make sure when
you are reinstalling the drag knob, make sure the stainless steel
washer is under the dragknob and not the dragspring.
