Required operator qualications
Personnelresponsibleforrunningorservicingthemachinemustbeinpossessionofspecic
professionalqualicationsforeachoftherequiredtasks.
Theoperatormustbeinstructedandhencefamiliarwiththeassigneddutiesunderhis/her
responsibility.
Thefollowingisadescriptionoftheprofessionalprolesformachineoperators.

Operator
Qualiedpersoncapableofperformingsimpletaskssuchasrunningthe
machinethroughtheuseofthepushbuttonpanelandloadingandunloading
ofthematerialsusedinproduction:theoperatoristypicallycapableof
performingsimpletasksofadjustment,start-uporresumptionofproduction
followingaforcedstoppage.
Maintenance Mechanic
Qualiedtechnicianabletorunthemachineinnormalconditions,torun
itwiththeprotectionsdisabled,toworkonmechanicalpartstoperform
adjustments,maintenanceoperationsandanyrepairsthatmaybeneeded.
Themaintenancemechanicisnotauthorisedtoworkonliveelectrical
systems.
Maintenance Electrician
Qualiedtechnicianabletorunthemachineinnormalconditionsandrunit
withtheprotectionsdisabled.Themaintenanceelectriciancanperformall
electricaladjustment,maintenanceandrepairtasks.
Themaintenanceelectricianisauthorizedtoworkinsideelectricalcabinets
andjunctionboxeswhiletheelectricalpowerisconnected.
Handling Operative
Personwithspecicskillsinliftingtechniquesandequipment,harnessing
techniquesandsafehandlingofloads.
Manufacturer's Maintenance Mechanic and Electrician
Qualiedtechniciansprovidedbythemanufacturerifnecessary
toperformcomplexoperationsinspecialsituationsorin
accordancewiththeagreementsenteredintowiththeuser.

Installation and commissioning
Themachineinstallationandareonlypermittedtoauthorisedpersonnel.
Duringinstallation,handlethemachinepartsasindicatedinthismanual.
Theinstallationareaforthemachinemust,asfaraspossible,befreeofmaterialsthatmay
prevent or limit visibility.
Checkthatallmachineinterlockandsafetydevicesareproperlysecuredandthatthereare
nomobileorlooseparts.Alsocheckthatthecontrolunitcomponentsareintact.
ChecktheconsistencybetweenthepowersupplyvoltageindicatedontheCEplateandthe
voltage value of the mains distribution network.
Checkthatthesafetyguardsareproperlyinstalledandperfectlyefcient.
Press the EMERGENCY button (A) to stop the machine in emergency situations.
The machine safety is not guaranteed if its safety device B is removed, by-passed
or tampered.

Performthefollowingoperationsbeforestartingthemachine:
Carefullyreadthetechnicaldocumentation;
Enquireontheoperationandpositioningoftheemergencystopdeviceonthemachine;
Knowwhichsafetydevicesandprotectionsareavailableonthemachine,theirlocationand
their operation.
Itisforbiddentodisconnectorpartiallyremovethesafetydevicesandprotectionslocatedat
theworkingareaaccess.
Thesameruleappliestothehazardsignalslocatedinparticularareasofthemachine.
Thesafetydevicesandprotectionsmustbekeptinperfectordertoallowproperoperation;in
thecaseoffailure,theymustbeimmediatelyrepairedorreplaced.
Theunauthoriseduseofcommercialpartsandaccessoriesformingpartofthesafetydevices
andprotectionsmaycausemalfunctionsandgiverisetohazardoussituationsfortheoperat-
ing personnel.

Decommissioning and disassembly
Themachinedecommissioningandremovalareonlypermittedtoauthorisedpersonnel.
Disassemblethemachinepreparingitfordisposal.
Disposaloperationsmustbecarriedoutincompliancewiththelegislationofthecountryof
installationofthemachine.

taking care to avoid shadows that prevent or reduce visibility

For the machine to operate in any operating condition including maintenance,
the presence of more than one person is not required.
The use of several people is unnecessary and, however, is not permitted for
safety reasons.
The employer must train personnel on the risks of accident, on the safety devices and
on the general prevention and protection rules provided by the Community Directives
and by the legislation of the country of installation of the machine.
The operator must know the position and operation of all machine controls and fea-
tures.
He must have also fully read this manual.
Maintenance interventions must be carried out by qualied technicians, after having
appropriately set-up the machine.
The tampering with or unauthorised replacement of one or more machine parts, the
adoption of accessories that modify the use of the machine and of processing materi-
als other than those recommended in this manual, may be cause of risks of injury.
SAFETY
General information
Hazards and residual risks - General information
Allareasatriskhavebeenevaluatedduringtheprojectphaseand,therefore,allnecessary
precautionshavebeentakentoavoidriskstopeopleanddamagestomachinecomponents.
Inordertoensurethehealthandsafetyoftheexposedpeople,themachineisequippedwith
appropriatesafetydevices:
•EMERGENCYbuttontoimmediatelystopthemachineandSTOPdevices.
•Electricaldevicesfordetectingpowersupplyanomaliesofthemachineandmalfunctionof
theelectricmotordevices.
As a precautionary measure for safety, it is necessary to check the regular
operation of the safety devices at the beginning of each shift.
Afterhavingcarefullyconsideredallpossiblerisksrelatedtotheuseandmaintenanceofthe
machine,allsolutionsnecessarytoeliminatetherisksandlimitthehazardstoexposedpeo-
ple have been adopted.

SAFETY
The exposure of personnel to the machine moving parts may create a serious
hazard to their safety.
It is strictly forbidden to start the machine if the provided xed protections
have not all been properly installed.

POINT.

4.Resetandrestartthemachineusingtherelativecontrols
Inthecaseoffailureontheemergencycircuit,itwillnolongerbepossibletoper-
formthesubsequentcommissioning.
Theelectricalmaintenancetechnicianmustverifythetypeoffailureonthecompo-
nents.
NOTE
Toresettheemergencystopfunction,turnthemushroom-shapedbuttoninthedirectionofits
arrowandresetthesafetyconditionsbypressingESCbuttononthecontrolpaneltoresume
theproductioncycle.

CAUTION
If, for any reason, the emergency button does not block the robot movement,
it can be stopped by pressing the ON/OFF button on the control panel and/or
by switching off the machine using the key switch.
CAUTION
The efciency of the EMERGENCY button must be checked at the start of
each work shift!
CAUTION
The “LEO” robot is also provided with a shock-sensitive front part for safety of work
and controls that stop the machine if, after the recordable time, the machine does not
steer.
After having pressed the front sensitive part, the robot continues its run for about 200
mm.

height of 2000.
Limits of use
Theelectricalequipmentworksproperlywithinthe
ambient temperature limits between +5°C and+40°C
and relative humidity limits not beyond 50% at 40°C
and not beyond 90% at 20°C.
Themachineisnotsuitableforoperationinthepresence
ofionizingradiationsandnon(X-rays,Laser,Microwave,
UV-rays).
Themachinemustbestoredattemperaturesbetween
-5°C and +55°C.
Reasonably foreseeable misuse
Themachinecannotbeused:
- In open spaces and/or exposed to
atmospheric agents
- In environments with over 50% of humidity
- In environments with corrosive and/or
abrasive steam, smoke or dust
