1. INTRODUCTION
The manual you have in your hands is a guide for the correct use of the multi-frequency receiver IT3R10.
This receiver, together with the associated remote control, has been specifically designed for the wireless
remote control of electromechanically operated machinery.
The radio signals used employ FM frequency modulation and FFSK encoding. The most advanced
technology and the latest generation microprocessors have been used in electronic design.
To avoid unwanted operations, the receiver is provided with various security mechanisms that will be
described in the next chapters. Any auto-detection of anomalies blocks the execution of operations.
The type of transmission used, GCFI (Intelligent Changing Frequency Management) provides the
equipment with an intelligent system enabling it to change to vacant frequencies automatically and at
random, thereby avoiding interferences which could cause continuous downtimes during operation.
The receiver works in the UHF band at frequencies between 433,050 and 434,775 MHz or between
868,000 and 870,000 MHz as prescribed in telecommunications regulations I-ETS 300 220.

2. GENERAL TERMS FOR THE CORRECT AND SAFE USE OF RADIO
REMOTE CONTROL
For maximum safety when handling the radio control, the user must follow the rules indicated in this
manual.
Whenever the crane has to be manoeuvred, the radio control operator must be in a place where he can
view the whole manoeuvre being performed. If this is not possible, he should position himself where he can
see as much of the manoeuvre as possible, and coordinate with another person when he cannot see
properly. Never perform a manoeuvre which may be partially uncontrolled.
When the operator finishes his work on the receiver, he must activate the emergency stop (STOP
BUTTON) of the transmitter and must take care not to leave the machine control accessible to
unauthorized personnel.

3. DESCRIPTION OF THE RECEIVER
The receiving unit consists of a cabinet, which houses the various electronic systems to receive orders
and activate/deactivate the corresponding relays for each operation of the crane.
FM radio modulation and FFSK coding are used for radio transmission of control signals.
The control module is in charge of verifying that the information received is free of errors, preparing the
pertinent orders to activate the appropriate relay.
For further safety, all surveillance systems are duplicated, both, at the software and hardware levels

5. INSTALLATION AND START-UP
5.1. INSTALLATION OF THE RECEIVER
The receiver should be installed in an accessible location to be able to work on it easily.
Please note in compliance with RD 171/2004 on the Coordination of Business Activities, that you must
guarantee the security conditions for the maintenance of the machine in question, especially in its
accessibility and transit areas up to the points where the operator must do their job.(

¡ATTENTION!:
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO CLOSE THE RECEIVER COVER
PROPERLY IN ORDER TO ENSURE ITS WATER TIGHTNESS, SINCE THE INLET OF
WATER CAN DAMAGE IT. THE GUARANTEE DOES NOT COVER THE DAMAGES
CAUSED FROM THE INAPPROPIATE CLOSING OF THE COVER.
In applications with an exterior antenna, it should be free of metal shields in order to achieve a better
radio link and avoid failures in communication.
5.1.1. FASTENING OPTIONS
For the magnetic fastening option, it should be placed on a metal surface with a MINIMUM THICKNESS
of 4 mm, in which the two magnets make contact in all their area with the surface

¡ATTENTION!: ONCE INSTALLED, CHECK THAT THE RECEIVER IS FIRMLY
ANCHORED AND IT DOES NOT SLIDE
5.2. CONNECTING
It is recommended to connect the equipment with a standard multi-cable hose. This hose will be
connected to the equipment at one end using the supplied Itowa terminal strip, while a multi-pin connector
will be placed on the other, identical to the one used in the machine to connect it to your conventional
pushbutton box.

The connection will be made through the terminal board that is screwed to the inside of the receiver
cover.
The below table indicates each operation and the terminals to be connected for the corresponding relay in
the standard receiver model:

¡ATTENTION!: THE OPERATIONS INDICATED IN FIG. 5-1 CORRESPOND TO THE
STANDARD RECEIVER. FOR SPECIAL MODELS YOU MUST CONSULT THE
OPERATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH EACH RELAY IN THE RELAY OUTPUT SHEET
PROVIDED WITH THE RECEIVER.
¡ATTENTION!: CONNECTION SHOULD BE MADE SO THAT WHEN GENERAL
SWITCHING IS TURNED OFF, THE REMOTE CONTROL RECEIVER IS ALSO TURNED
OFF.
¡ATTENTION!: AS A SAFETY MEASURE, IT IS IMPERATIVE TO MAKE SURE THE UNIT
IS EARTHED WITH THE CORRESPONDING PIN OF THE CONNECTOR.
Itowa will not be responsible for an inappropriate installation.
5.3. START-UP
Once the receiver is installed and connected, when the general switch of the machine is turned on, the
LED located on the front of the receiver set will light up, to verify its correct operation
The following steps will be done with the transmitter associated with the receiver:
Insert a charged battery into the transmitter set, release the STOP BUTTON and press the START1) button.
The remote control will start to work activating the stop and start relays of the receiver, and the2) general contactor will be locked. The LED on the transmitter and receiver will start to flash and the
S1 LED on the receiver will be activated, indicating that the radio control unit is in working mode.
From this moment, if any button is pressed, the corresponding operation will be activated. The3) selected operation will remain active while the button is pressed.
To keep the radio channel free and to avoid the operator could accidentally leave the machine on when it
is not in use, the remote control is equipped with an automatic stop system. This system is activated after
180 seconds (it can be programmed) after not operating, sending a stop sequence to the receiver,
causing the machine to stop.

6. MAINTENANCE
The product you have purchased is made with the highest quality materials that ensure the perfect
functioning and operability of the radio remote control. Like any other machine or equipment, the remote
control requires a minimum of basic maintenance that must be done.
In order to increase the life of your appliance as much as possible, and to avoid unnecessary repair costs,
we recommend that you carefully follow the following maintenance and maintenance tips:
¡ATTENTION!: ORIGINAL SPARE PARTS SHOULD BE USED FOR ALL REPAIRS,
SAFETY SPECIFICATIONS OF THIS EQUIPMENT AND OF THE TRANSMITTER AND
UHF RECEIVER SHOULD NOT BE MOVED.

¡ATTENTION!: BEFORE HANDLING THE TRANSMITTER, TURN OFF THE GENERAL
SWITCH OF THE MACHINE..
6.1. MAINTENANCE OF THE RECEIVER
During maintenance of the receiver the following parts will be checked:
The connection between the receiver and the electrical equipment of the machine.
The correct working order of the active and passive safety circuits.
The correct working of all LEDs through the start test.
The correct closing of the cover and gland.
The firm fastening of the whole unit.
If you have an external antenna, check that the connection is clean and free of rust.
To check the working order of the active safety circuit, simply press the STOP BUTTON while the remote
control is on. The general contactor should drop immediately..
To check the working order of the passive safety circuit, remove the battery from the transmitter. The
general contactor should drop after within a maximum of 1.6 seconds.

7. DISPLAY THE EQUIPMENT CODE
The code of the equipment is a unique hexadecimal code shared between the transmitter and the
receiver, and identifies and links them by radio frequency.
In case you need to know the equipment code, the receiver allows its display by acting on jumper J1 on
the motherboard.
To start the display, place the jumper in the position indicated in the following image:

At this point, starts the code display sequence through the LED, The value in hexadecimal of each
number will be represented by a LED on the front panel of the receiver by a number of flashes equal to
that value, starting with LED S1 with the first digit of the code (reading from left to right).
The following table indicates the correspondence between the hexadecimal value of each digit and the
number of flashes that will correspond to the LED that represents it.

Note once the receiver detects the position of jumper J1, the functional test of all LEDs begins, without
interruption. Between the presentation of one LED and another, all the LEDs flash as a separation mark.
If the position of jumper J1 is changed during the test, the sequence is not interrupted. For a better
understanding of this process, we propose an example of code and the result of its display.
With the example code 01A38E you get:

9. POSSIBLE INCIDENTS AND SOLUTIONS
