1. About this document
These Short Instructions are part of the overall documentation for the
device. They are only valid in combination with the Operating Instructions of
the device ("Documents of equal applicability and required files",
page 6).
WARNING! Improper use of the device.

fThe Short Instructions contain important information on the safe
handling of the device: Operating Instructions and Short Instructions
must be read thoroughly prior to installation and operation.
These Short Instructions will help you to quickly familiarize yourself with the use of
PrograPrint Clean.
Should you lose these Short Instructions, you can download them from

1.1. Signs and symbols
1.1.1 Warnings and additional information
Warnings
Warnings are used in these Short Instructions to warn you of a risk of injury to persons
and/or damage to property.
–Please always read and observe these warnings.
–Follow all measures marked with the warning symbol and warning word.
Depending on the severity and the probability of the danger, the following warning levels

2. Safety
WARNING! Improper use of the device.
Hazard to the user.
fThe safety chapter contains important information on the safety of the
device: Please read it thoroughly prior to installation and operation.
The device is built according to state-of-the-art technology and recognized
safety regulations. Nevertheless, operation bears the risk of injury to the
user or third parties. Moreover, impairments of the device and other
property are possible.
2.1. Intended use
PrograPrint Clean has been designed for cleaning the dental objects produced by the
PrograPrint PR5.
Use the PrograMill Clean exclusively for this purpose.
In the case of damage caused by improper use or failure to observe the Operating
Instructions, all liability and guarantee claims are void.
PrograPrint Clean is for cleaning with isopropanol that has the following properties:
–It must have a purity of at least 99.8%
–It must be suitable for cleaning medical products
Please note that only the materials and cleaning agents approved by the manufacturer
ensure processing without damage to the machine.
All information regarding material and indication extensions corresponds to
the state of knowledge at the time of going to print.

The cleaning of non-approved 3D printed materials from other
manufacturers is not recommended due to the lack of coordination with
the printing/fabrication process.

2.1.1 Potential improper use
The device is not suitable for cleaning 3D printed objects from outside of the dental field.
The following is considered as misuse of the system:
–Non-compliance with the specified intended use, intended operator specifications or
intended environment
–Modifications, maintenance and repairs without prior authorization from Ivoclar
–Operation with inappropriate parameters
–Cleaning with non-approved cleaning materials
Improper use of the device can lead to the following:
–Danger for patients and operating personnel
–Danger of fire or explosion
–Impairment of the operability of the device
–Impairment of material properties and precision of printed objects
Ivoclar assumes no liability for damages resulting from improper use.

2.1.2 Intended user
The device may only be operated by dental technicians and qualified dental staff for the
fabrication of dental objects for dental applications.
The user is responsible for selecting the correct device settings.
2.1.3 Intended environment
The device is only permitted for use in closed rooms that are ventilated as specified,
within the specified ambient conditions (see Technical data, section "Ambient conditions
for storage and transportation without cleaning fluid" in the Operating Instructions,
"Documents of equal applicability and required files", page 6) and in compliance with
the specifications for safe installation (see requirements regarding the location site in
the Operating Instructions, "Documents of equal applicability and required files",
page 6).
2.2. Operator’s obligations
The operator is responsible for the safe operation of the device.
fEnsure compliance and control:
–Intended use
–Statutory or other safety and accident prevention regulations
fOnly operate the device in a technically perfect condition, in a proper, safety-
conscious and risk-conscious manner and while observing the Operating Instructions
("Documents of equal applicability and required files", page 6).
fKeep these instructions and all documents of equal applicability complete, legible and
accessible to personnel at all times.
2.3. Personnel qualifications
fEnsure that the personnel assigned to work with the device have read and understood
these instructions and all documents of equal applicability, in particular safety,
maintenance and repair information, before starting work.
fEnsure that personnel is aware of hazards and safety equipment ("Working areas,
potential hazards and safety measures on the device", page 9).
fManage the responsibilities, competence and monitoring of staff.All work must only be
carried out by qualified technical staff.
fPersonnel to be trained should only be working with the device under the supervision
of qualified technical staff.
2.4. Staff obligations
fOnly operate the device in a technically perfect condition, in a proper, safety-
conscious and risk-conscious manner and while observing the Operating Instructions
("Documents of equal applicability and required files", page 6).
fRefrain from any process that could endanger personnel or third parties.
fIn the case of safety-related malfunctions, switch off the device immediately and
allow the fault to be rectified by the person responsible.
fIn all cases of doubt regarding the safety of the device, switch off the device and
prevent further use.
fIn addition to the overall documentation, legal or other safety and accident
prevention regulations including the applicable standards and guidelines of the
country in which the device is operated must be complied with.
fDo not wear jewellery such as rings, bracelets or watches when working on the device
to prevent cutting injuries or bruising.
2.5. Personal protective equipment
fFor the protection against material and cleaning agent vapours or other dental
material particles, wear a protective mask (half mask with protection class FFP3),
gloves and protective gear suitable for the respective material (see Instructions for
Use of the materials being used, "Documents of equal applicability and required files",
page 6).

2.6. Working areas, potential hazards and safety
measures on the device
As an operator, you are working at the areas described below.
The device is built according to state-of-the-art technology and recognized technical
safety regulations. Hazardous areas, which cannot be avoided by design, are equipped
with appropriate protective devices. Nevertheless, if the machine is used improperly,
there is a danger to life or risk of injury to the user or third parties. In addition, the
devices or dental applications may become damaged.
The working areas, their potential hazards and applicable safety measures are shown
below:

2.6.1 Fume hood / extraction cabinet at the site of use
CAUTION! Evaporation of cleaning agent during use without
fume hood / extraction cabinet.
Respiratory disorders, skin irritations and allergic reactions.
Danger of fire or explosion.
fPlace and operate the device filled with isopropanol exclusively under an
explosion-proof fume hood / in an explosion-proof extraction cabinet.
fEnsure that the explosion-proof fume hood / explosion-proof extraction
cabinet is equipped for a minimum protection level of Zone 2 according
to ATEX 137 (Definition Zone 2: A hazardous area classified as an
atmosphere where a mixture of air and flammable substances in the
form of gas, vapour or mist is not likely to occur in normal operation, but
if it does occur, will persist for a short period only).
fUse the fume hood / extraction cabinet in continuous operation
(24 hours a day, 7 days a week) if the cleaning containers are filled with
isopropanol.
fAlways comply with any additional country-specific standards /
stipulations / regulations etc. on the usage / storage / disposal of
isopropanol.
The fume hood / extraction cabinet must meet the following requirements
–Explosion-proof equipment
–Suitable for continuous operation (24 hours a day, 7 days a week)
–ATEX approved for each country of use
–No integrated plug socket, as the magnetic stirrer features a potted cable that must
be led through the fume hood towards the outside.
–Measurements (L x W x H): 450 mm x 380 mm x 700 mm
–Air flow: The country-specific standards / regulations / specifications must be
complied with.
2.7. Safety instructions for potential hazard areas
2.7.1 Magnetism
The inductive drive of the magnetic stirrer works with magnetism.
fKeep pacemakers, data carriers, magnetic cards and other devices that may be
affected by magnetic fields away from the device.
2.7.2 Electrical safety
If covers are opened or parts are removed which are only accessible with tools, voltage-
carrying components may be exposed. The plugs may also be under voltage. There is a
risk of electric shock!
fElectrical work must only be carried out by your authorized service partner.
fBefore connecting the device, check that the supply voltage and frequency are
correct at the point of installation (see electrical data and the information on the
type plate in the Operating Instructions, "Documents of equal applicability and
required files", page 6).
fTo avoid injury to the user and for cooling reasons and fire protection, never remove
the housing covers.
fFor installation, observe the requirements of the manufacturer for house installation.
fTo prevent the risk of electric shock, connect the device only to a power supply with a
protective conductor.
fThe mains plug is used as disconnect device. Always connect the mains plug to an
easily accessible protective contact socket.
fConnect the grounded and freely accessible protective contact socket to a separately
secured circuit.
fMake sure that the protective contact socket is equipped with a residual current
device (RCD).
fConnect the device to a separately secured circuit or make sure that no devices are
connected that cause severe supply voltage fluctuations when switched on. These
fluctuations interfere with the electronic controls and may cause failure of the
system.

fDisconnect power before cleaning and maintenance work approved to be performed
by the user.
fIf you need to disconnect the unit from the power supply at a later time: Disconnect
the plug from the mains socket, not on the device.
2.7.3 Hazardous materials
Cleaning agent (isopropanol)
Without the corresponding safety precautions, there is a risk of skin irritations, allergic
reactions or respiratory diseases depending on the cleaning agent.
Due to the cleaning agent vapours, there is a risk of fire or explosion if the device and
cleaning agents are handled incorrectly.
When working with cleaning agents, observe the following instructions:
fObserve the cleaning agent safety data sheet ("Documents of equal applicability and
required files", page 6).
fStore, use and dispose of cleaning products in accordance with the applicable
national regulations and safety data sheets.
fObserve applicable fire regulations when handling the cleaning agent.
fWear protective gear ("Personal protective equipment", page 8).
fTo avoid a fire or explosion hazard, do not spill the cleaning agent.
fObserve the requirements for the installation site (see specifications for the position
in the Operating Instructions, "Documents of equal applicability and required files",
page 6).
fIn order to avoid a fire or explosion hazard due to a faulty device or defective safety
features, operate the device only in perfect technical condition, in particular with
fitted, intact seals.
2.8. Safety information for the individual operating
phases
2.8.1 Transport
fTransport the device only as described in the Operating Instructions (see
requirements regarding transport and setting up in the Operating Instructions,
"Documents of equal applicability and required files", page 6).
fIn order to avoid corrosion on the device and subsequent damage to the device,
transport and store device only in the permissible temperature range and ambient
conditions (see requirements regarding the ambient conditions in the Operating
Instructions, "Documents of equal applicability and required files", page 6).
2.8.2 Initial operation
fEnsure that this device is only operated by authorized and trained specialists.
fIf the device has been stored in a cold environment or at high humidity, maintain a
drying or temperature adjustment time of approx. 4 hours (without voltage) at room
temperature before initial operation.
fBefore connecting the device, check that the supply voltage and frequency are
correct at the point of installation (see electrical data in the Operating Instructions,
"Documents of equal applicability and required files", page 6).
fThe requirements regarding the location site and ambient conditions must be
observed (see requirements regarding the location site and ambient conditions in the
Operating Instructions, "Documents of equal applicability and required files",
page 6).
2.8.3 Operation
fEnsure that this device is only operated by authorized and trained specialists.
fKeep unauthorized persons, such as patients and children, as well as animals away
from the unit.
fIn all cases of doubt regarding the safety of the device, switch off and disconnect the
device and take suitable measures to prevent further use.
fPrior to connecting power or operation, check the device, the accessories and
protective equipment for any damage.Do not use damaged, non-functioning
equipment or accessories; instead notify your authorized service partner.

fIn order to ensure the product safety and warranty services, the device must be
exclusively operated with the original accessories from Ivoclar, particularly the original
power cord. The user bears the risk when using non-approved accessories.
fIvoclar recommends using only the approved cleaning agent to ensure process
reliability.
fNever bypass the safety equipment of the device or set it out of operation ("Working
areas, potential hazards and safety measures on the device", page 9).
fTo prevent damage to the device and a reduction of the device performance, observe
the cleaning requirements and cycles (see "Cleaning by the user", page 13 in these
Short Instructions as well as the overview and instructions for the cleaning and
maintenance work in the Operating Instructions, "Documents of equal applicability
and required files", page 6).
fOnly operate the device unsupervised if the operating conditions for unsupervised
operation described below are fulfilled.
Unsupervised operation:
The device may be operated unsupervised, provided the national and local laws and
provisions allow for such action and provided that they are observed. Furthermore, the
requirements of the respective insurance company must be met.
fNever use the device if the cleaning containers are heavily soiled.
fProtect the device against unauthorized access.
2.8.4 Cleaning by the user
fOnly clean as specified in the Operating Instructions and observe the related safety
regulations (see overview and requirements regarding cleaning and maintenance
work in the Operating Instructions, "Documents of equal applicability and required
files", page 6).
2.8.5 Improper maintenance, modifications and repairs
Improper service and improper repairs or modifications will endanger patients and users
and result in damage to the device and the final products.
Should you carry out any repairs or maintenance of the device or make modifications or
remove the housing without prior written consent by an authorized service partner, all
warranty claims are void.
Unauthorized opening and removal of components can expose voltage-carrying
components. The plugs may also be under voltage. There is a risk of electric shock!
fMaintenance as well as repairs of damaged safety equipment or machine parts must
only be carried out by a service partner authorized by Ivoclar.

2. Sicherheit
WARNUNG! Unsachgemässe Verwendung des Geräts.
Gefährdung des Benutzers.
fDas Sicherheitskapitel enthält wichtige Informationen zur Sicherheit des
Geräts: Vor der Inbetriebnahme und Bedienung gründlich lesen.
Das Gerät ist nach dem Stand der Technik und den anerkannten
sicherheitstechnischen Regeln gebaut. Dennoch besteht bei seiner
Verwendung Verletzungsgefahr für den Benutzer oder Dritte. Ausserdem
sind Beeinträchtigungen des Geräts und anderer Sachwerte möglich.
2.1. Bestimmungsgemässer Gebrauch
Der PrograPrint Clean ist für Reinigung von mit PrograPrint PR5 erzeugten dentalen
Applikationen ausgelegt.
Verwenden Sie PrograPrint Clean ausschliesslich für diesen Zweck.
Bei Schäden, die durch unsachgemässe Bedienung oder aufgrund von nicht
bestimmungsgemässem Gebrauch auftreten, erlöschen jegliche Haftungs- und
Garantieansprüche.
PrograPrint Clean ist für die Reinigung mit Isopropanol mit folgenden Eigenschaften
ausgelegt:
–Muss eine Reinheit von mindestens 99,8 % aufweisen
–Muss geeignet sein, Medizinprodukte zu reinigen
Beachten Sie, dass nur die vom Hersteller freigegebenen Materialien und
Reinigungsmittel eine geräteschonende Bearbeitung garantieren können.

Die Reinigung von nicht freigegebenen Fremdmaterialien wird aufgrund der
fehlenden Abstimmung mit dem Druck-/Fertigungsprozess nicht empfohlen.
2.1.1 Potentieller Missbrauch
Das Gerät ist nicht geeignet für Reinigungsarbeiten von 3D-Druckarbeiten ausserhalb des
Dentalbereichs.
Folgendes wird als Missbrauch des Systems betrachtet:
–Nichteinhaltung des bestimmungsgemässen Gebrauchs, der Vorgaben zum
bestimmungsgemässen Benutzer und der bestimmungsgemässen Umgebung
–Änderungen, Wartungen und Reparaturen ohne Genehmigung von Ivoclar
–Betrieb mit ungeeigneten Parametern
–Reinigung mit nicht empfohlenen Reinigungsmitteln
Missbrauch der Geräte kann zu Folgendem führen:
–Gefahren für Patienten und Betriebspersonal
–Brand- oder Explosionsgefahr
–Beeinträchtigung der Betriebsfähigkeit der Geräte
–Beeinträchtigung der Materialeigenschaften und der Präzision der gedruckten Objekte
Ivoclar übernimmt keine Haftung für Schäden durch einen Einsatz für nicht vorgesehene
Zwecke.

2.1.2 Bestimmungsgemässer Benutzer
Das Gerät darf nur von Zahntechnikern und zahnmedizinischem Fachpersonal zur
Herstellung dentaler Applikationen bedient werden.
Die Wahl der richtigen Geräteeinstellung liegt in der Verantwortung des Benutzers.
2.1.3 Bestimmungsgemässe Umgebung
Das Gerät ist nur für den Gebrauch in geschlossenen, wie vorgegeben belüfteten Räumen
innerhalb der vorgegebenen Umgebungsbedingungen (siehe technische Daten, Abschnitt
„Umgebungsbedingungen Lagerung und Transport ohne Reinigungsmittel" in der
Bedienungsanleitung, „Mitgeltende Dokumente und erforderliche Dateien", Seite 16)
und bei Einhaltung der Vorgaben zum sicheren Aufstellen zugelassen (siehe Vorgaben
zum Stellplatz in der Bedienungsanleitung, „Mitgeltende Dokumente und erforderliche
Dateien", Seite 16).
2.2. Pflichten des Betreibers
Die Verantwortung für den sicheren Betrieb des Geräts obliegt dem Betreiber.
fEinhaltung und Überwachung sicherstellen:
–Bestimmungsgemässer Gebrauch
–Gesetzliche oder sonstige Sicherheits- und Unfallverhütungsvorschriften
fGerät nur in technisch einwandfreiem Zustand sowie bestimmungsgemäss,
sicherheits- und gefahrenbewusst unter Beachtung der Bedienungsanleitung
betreiben („Mitgeltende Dokumente und erforderliche Dateien", Seite 16).
fDiese Anleitung und alle mitgeltenden Dokumente vollständig und lesbar halten und
für das Personal jederzeit zugänglich aufbewahren.
2.3. Personalqualifikation
fSicherstellen, dass mit Tätigkeiten an dem Gerät beauftragtes Personal vor
Arbeitsbeginn diese Anleitung und alle mitgeltenden Dokumente gelesen und
verstanden hat, insbesondere Sicherheits-, Wartungs- und Instandsetzungs-
informationen.
fSicherstellen, dass das Personal über Gefahrenbereiche und Sicherheitseinrichtungen
unterrichtet ist („Arbeitsbereiche, Gefahrenpotentiale und Sicherheitseinrichtungen
am Gerät", Seite 19).
fVerantwortungen, Zuständigkeiten und Überwachung des Personals regeln.
fAlle Arbeiten nur von technischem Fachpersonal durchführen lassen.
fZu schulendes Personal nur unter Aufsicht von technischem Fachpersonal Arbeiten an
dem Gerät durchführen lassen.
2.4. Pflichten des Personals
fGerät nur in technisch einwandfreiem Zustand sowie bestimmungsgemäss,
sicherheits- und gefahrenbewusst unter Beachtung der Bedienungsanleitung
betreiben („Mitgeltende Dokumente und erforderliche Dateien", Seite 16).
fJede Arbeitsweise unterlassen, die das Personal oder Dritte gefährdet.
fBei sicherheitsrelevanter Störung Gerät sofort ausschalten und Störung durch
zuständige Person beseitigen lassen.
fIn allen Zweifelsfällen bezüglich der Sicherheit des Geräts, Gerät ausschalten und
weiteren Gebrauch verhindern.
fErgänzend zur Gesamtdokumentation die gesetzlichen oder sonstigen Sicherheits-
und Unfallverhütungsvorschriften sowie die geltenden Normen und Richtlinien des
jeweiligen Betreiberlandes einhalten.
fBei der Arbeit am Gerät keinen Schmuck wie Ringe, Armbänder oder Uhren tragen, um
Schnittverletzungen oder Quetschungen zu vermeiden.
2.5. Persönliche Schutzausrüstung
fZum Schutz vor Material-, Reinigungsmitteldämpfen oder sonstigen Partikeln dentaler
Materialien Schutzmaske (Halbmaske mit Schutzklasse FFP3), Handschuhe und
materialgeeignete Schutzausrüstung tragen (siehe Gebrauchsinformationen der
Materialien, „Mitgeltende Dokumente und erforderliche Dateien", Seite 16).

2.6. Arbeitsbereiche, Gefahrenpotentiale und

Als Benutzer arbeiten Sie an den nachfolgend beschriebenen Arbeitsbereichen.
Das Gerät wurde gemäss dem neuesten Stand der Technik und nach anerkannten
technischen Sicherheitsregeln gebaut. Gefahrenstellen, die sich konstruktiv nicht
vermeiden lassen, sind mit entsprechenden Schutzvorrichtungen versehen. Dennoch
können bei unsachgemässer Benutzung des Geräts der Benutzer oder Dritte in Lebens-
bzw. Verletzungsgefahr gebracht werden. Es können ausserdem Schäden an den Geräten
oder dentalen Applikationen entstehen.
