Read through these instructions fully before commencing installation.
LocatetheIXLEcoVentoinaccordancewiththerequirementsofthecurrentAustralian/NewZealand
WiringRulesAS/NZS3000relatingtodampsituations,oraccordingtoapplicableWiringRulesfor
installationsoutsideofAustraliaandNewZealand.ThisappliancehasanIPX4ratingwhichmeansitis
suitableforZone1installationsandcanbemounteddirectlyaboveabathorshowerrecess.
Thisunitisttedwithacordandplug,however,anyinterconnectingwiringandswitchesusedmust
be fitted by a licensed electrician.
Switchesandothercontrolsmustnotbelocatedwheretheycanbetouchedbyapersoninthebath
orshower.

• Donotusethisapplianceforfunctionsotherthanthosedescribedinthisuserguide.
• Afterremovingtheappliancefromitspackaging,ensurethatitiscompleteandundamaged.

Do not allow insulation material to rest against the sides or
top of the Ventflo unit when installed.

Formaximumefciencyandfanperformancethere
areafewkeypointstokeepinmindwheninstalling
your IXL Eco Ventflo exhaust fan.
Sufcientairinletintoroom
Steamwillonlyberemovedifthereissufcientow
of air through the room. Ensure generous inlets exist
throughwindows,ventsorunderthedoor.Airow
pathfrominlettofanshouldideallypassoverthe
steamsources.(SeeFig1.)
Adequateventilationinroofcavity
Itisessentialthatthereisadequatespacewithin
the roof cavity so that exhaust air from the fan can
dissipate.Wherespaceisrestricted,useFig.3
asaguidetominimumrequirementsforadequate
ventilation.
Theroofcavityitselfshouldbewellventilatedto
outside so that moist air can be removed. Local
buildingcodesmayrequireueingtooutsidethrough
roofasperFig.4(page7)foratroofinstallation.
Whereventilationspaceisrestricted
Thisproductisnotrecommendedforinstallation
betweenoorsofmulti-storeydwellings,orwhere
spacewithintheroofcavityisseverelyrestrictedand
aueasperFig.4cannotbetted.IXLhasother
Ventilationproductsavailablethatareparticularly
suitedtoinstallationsbetweenoorsorwherespace
isrestricted.ContactyournearestIXLServiceCentre

• Iftheappliancedoesnotfunctioncorrectlyordevelopsafault,contactSampfordIXLimmediately.
• Shouldtheappliancebedroppedorsufferaheavyblow,haveitcheckedbyanauthorisedservice
agentforIXLproducts
• Theelectricalsystemtowhichtheapplianceisconnectedmustconformtoapplicablestandards.
• Theelectricalpowersupply/sockettowhichtheapplianceistobeconnectedmustbeableto
providethemaximumelectricalpowerrequiredbytheappliance.Ifitcan’tdothis,contacta
qualiedelectriciantomakethenecessarymodications.
• Switchofftheapplianceattheinstallation’smainswitch:a)iftheappliancedoesnotfunction
correctly;b)beforecleaningtheoutsideoftheappliance;c)iftheapplianceisnotgoingtobeused
for any length of time.
• Theroommusthaveanadequatesourceofreplacementairforthisappliancetofunction
effectively.Moreover,ifthereisanynon-sealedcombustionbasedappliancesuchasawater
heater,gasstove,etc.inthesameroom,airreplacementmustbesufcientforallappliancesto
workeffectivelytogether.

Clearances
Allappliancesmustbemountedsothatthelowest
pointisatleast2.1mabovetheoor.TheIXLEco
Ventoisdesignedtotaceilingcavitywitha
minimum height of 215 mm (10324) & 260 mm
(10326)wheninstalledinawellventilatedroof
cavity. Where ventilation is restricted, these heights
should be increased by a minimum of 25 mm. This
willallowforthebackdraughtshutterstoopenfully
whentheunitisinoperation.
Additionally,aminimumof40mmclearanceis
requiredbetweenthesidesofthefanandany
adjoiningpartsoftheroofstructure,suchaswalls,
joistsorinsulationbatts.

Electrical Requirements
Flat Roof Installations
Seethewiringdiagram(Fig.5)forsupplyrequirementsandmaximumloadingsforeachmodel.
Fansmaybeconnectedtoalightingpowercircuitifloadingpermits.Wiringofthewallswitch(not
provided)andsocketoutletinroofcavitymustbecarriedoutbyaregisteredelectrician.Thewall
switchshouldbelocatedinaccordancetheWiringRulesAS/NZS3000.Itmustnotbeinstalledwhere
itcanbereachedbyapersoninthebathorshower.
Wheninstallingintoaatroofwithinsufcient
clearance,orwhereceilingcavityventilationis
restricted, an external venting duct must be installed.
Use Fig. 4 as a guide to minimum external outlet
requirements.
IMPORTANT:Donotattachtheducttothebodyof
thefan.Allowfor10-20mmminimumgapbetween
the fan and the end of the duct. The duct should
have a diameter of at least 235mm (10324) &
290mm (10326).

Installation
Important considerations before installing
• Joists,beamsandraftersshallnotbecutornotchedtoinstalltheappliance.
• ThisunithasanIPX4ratingwhichmeansitissuitableforZone1installationsandcanbeinstalled
directlyaboveashowerorbath.
• Fortheexhaustfantoworkefciently,replacementairofavolumeequivalenttowhatisbeing
extractedmustbeabletoentertheroom.Ingeneralthisairwouldbedrawnunderthedooror
throughaslightlyopenwindow.Iftheroomisairtightthefanwillfunctionpoorly.
• Thisproductisdesignedforinstallationinatceilingonly.Donotmountitonaslopingceiling
orverticalwall.

1. Locatingtheunit–Beforecommencingany
cutting,checkintheceilingspacethatthereare
noobstructionssuchasceilingjoistsandthat
there is sufficient clearance for the housing.
Checkthattheelectricalwiringcanberoutedfrom
thewallswitchestothemountinglocation.
2. Preparetheceiling–Usingthetemplateprovided
onpage15,marktheceilingwithapenciloutline
andcutouttherequiredhole(10324needs244
mm dia. & 10326 needs 294 mm dia. hole).
3. Remove the grille.
4. Plugthefanintothepowerpoint.
5. Ensurethatthemountingclipsareintheclosed
position,theninsertfanintoceilingcutout.
6. Usingascrewdriver(orabatterydriverwithalow
torquesetting)partiallytightenthescrews.
Thiswillmovethemountingclipsintotheopen
positionandholdtheunittotheceiling.
7. Rotatetheunitsothatthegrilledirection
linesonthebodyarealignedwiththewalls.
Theselinesshowtheorientationofthefascia
grillewheninstalled.
8. Tightenthescrews.Donotovertightenasthis
candamageplasterboard.
9. Fitgrilleontounit.Oncettedthegrillecanbe
adjustedtobetteralignwiththewalls.

1. Turnthepowerswitchon/offtomakesuretheunitruns
2. Runningthefancanexhauststeamandodoursquicklyandefciently.
Note:Shutoffpowerurgentlywhenanyabnormalitiesoccurinoperation.Thencallalicensed
electricianorIXLservicepersonforinspectionandnecessaryservicework.
Donotinsertngersorthinbarsintothegrillewhentheunitisoperating.Thiscouldcauseharmto
yourselfandtheappliance.
Theunitmustnotbeinstalledinaplacethatsuffersfromseverewaterleakage.
1. Shutpoweroffbeforecleaningormaintenance.
2. Removegrilleandwipeitwithcareusingadampsoftclothwithamilddetergentifnecessary.
Ensurethemotororotherelectricalpartscan’ttouchthewater.
3. Thegrillecanbecleanedinadishwasheronlowheatsetting~45°Candonlywashonthetopshelf.
4. Replacethegrilleafteritisthoroughlydry

1. SampfordIXLVentilationproductscomewithguaranteesthatdonotexcludethefollowing
consumerentitlementsundertheAustralianConsumerLaw:
a.replacementorrefundforamajorfailureandcompensationforanyotherreasonably
foreseeable loss or damage; and
b.tohavethegoodsreplacedifgoodsfailtobeofacceptablequalityandthefailuredoesnot
amounttoamajorfailure.
2. SampfordIXLwarrantsthatyourproductandrelatedsupplywillbefreefromdefectsin
materialsandworkmanshipduringthewarrantyterm.Yourwarrantytermisthreeyears
commencingfromthedateofpurchase.
3. SubjecttoPoint1,SampfordIXLwillduringthewarrantytermprovideareplacementofan
equivalentcurrentmodelwherethebalanceofthewarrantyperiodfromtheoriginaldateof
purchasewilltakeeffect.
4. TothefullestextentpermittedbylawandsubjectalwaystoPoint1,SampfordIXLwillnotbe
liable for:
