How do I pair my Jabra Talk 55 with my smartphone?
The first time you turn on your Jabra Talk 55, it is ready to pair with your smartphone. Follow
the voice-guided instructions to pair.
To pair with a new or second smartphone, follow these steps:
1. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone.
2. Dock the Jabra Talk 55 in the charging case, and make sure it is charged.
3. Press and hold (3 seconds) the Jabra button on the bottom of the charging case until the light
flashes blue.

4. Wear the Jabra Talk 55 and follow the voice-guided instructions to pair with your smartphone.
Enter “0000” (four zeros) if you are asked for a PIN.

Voice guidance is turned on, as the default setting, on your Jabra Talk 55. To change the setting,
follow these steps:
1. Turn on your Jabra Talk 55.
2. Make sure there is a Bluetooth connection between your Jabra Talk 55 and your mobile phone.
3. Open the Jabra Assist app on your mobile phone.
4. Tap Jabra Talk 55, and then tap Device settings.
5. Under Voice, Voice guidance & control, tap to turn the voice guidance off or on.
The app is available for iOS and Android phones. You cannot adjust this setting without using
the app.

How many Bluetooth devices can I pair with my Jabra device?
Your Jabra device can be paired with up to 8 different Bluetooth devices. If you attempt to pair a
9th device, it will replace the least used device from the existing pairings.
In general, pairing with additional devices is performed the same way as the initial pairing you
carried out for your product. You can find more information in the FAQ section Pairing with
Bluetooth for your specific Jabra product.

How do I get my Jabra headset to announce the caller name for incoming calls?
Make sure that your phone supports the Bluetooth Phonebook Access Profile (PBAP) and that
the name of the caller is stored in your phone book.
Note that on some mobile phones, a warning message about access to the phone book appears in
the top left corner. You must select this message and then agree to the connection in order for the
caller ID feature to function properly.
See the following prerequisites:

Your mobile phone supports the Bluetooth Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP).
During pairing, you must have allowed access to your phone book.
The calling number must be associated with a stored contact in the phone book.
The incoming call is not from an unknown, unlisted or blocked caller.
Note: Japanese only supports number read-out. Chinese is supported only in Chinese Simplified.

Why do I experience poor audio quality on my Jabra device?
Poor audio quality may occur if the Bluetooth range is exceeded or the Bluetooth signal is
blocked. If you experience poor audio resulting from low range, follow these guidelines:
Make sure the distance between your headphones and the paired device does not exceed 33
feet (10 metres).
Make sure there is a direct line of sight between your headphones and phone. Avoid placing
objects that can block radio signals between paired devices. These include walls, doors and
windows.
Avoid environments where computers, microwave ovens and high concentrations of Wi-Fi are
present
Keep your headphones and mobile phone on the same side of your body.
Avoid placing your mobile phone in a back pocket.

this guidance to optimise the audio settings on multiple devices.
Device equaliser - audio
Many smartphones and tablets have their own audio settings. Make sure you adjust the bass,
mid-range and treble settings to suit your preferred audio.
Connected device - maximum speaker volume
Depending on the smartphone or tablet audio settings, the maximum potential volume may be
disabled due to default settings for hearing protection from the device manufacturer.
Music and video apps - audio
Many smartphone and tablet apps have their own audio settings, which are independent of the
device audio settings. Check and adjust these app audio settings to improve the audio experience.

What is automatic volume control?

Your headset intelligently adjusts the volume* of your calls for optimal sound quality, depending
on your surrounding background noise. To manually adjust the volume, use the volume controls
on your smartphone.
*The Jabra Eclipse and Jabra Talk 55 can turn this feature off using Jabra Assist.

When I use my Jabra Bluetooth solution with the OnePlus 5/5T smartphone, why is there no audio for
calls and music in the Jabra solution?
This is currently (December 2018) a known issue with the OnePlus 5/5T smartphone, regardless of the

The following troubleshooting steps have helped some users and may work for you. Try to power the
smartphone off/on. Try to turn AirPlane mode on/off.

Why can I not play music through my Jabra device, but can use it for calls?
Your Jabra device or connected Bluetooth device may not support the Advanced Audio
Distribution Profile (A2DP), which enables multimedia audio communication, such as music,
between your Jabra device and a connected Bluetooth device. Check the technical specifications
for your devices to see whether A2DP is supported.
If your Jabra product does support A2DP, verify in your smartphone’s Bluetooth settings that
your Jabra device is selected for media streaming.

Why is there a difference between the audio quality for calls and music listening?
Telephony/communication products typically support wideband audio–also known as HD (High
Definition) voice. HD voice reproduces voice quality so that it sounds crisp, clear, and natural at
the receiving end of the call. HD voice provides high quality audio for calls but not for music
listening.
To get the best possible audio quality for music reproduction, a product should support music
and video streaming in Hi-fi stereo. Bluetooth devices typically use the A2DP (Advanced Audio
Distribution Profile) standard for streaming high quality stereo audio. For details on Jabra

Why is there no audio in my Jabra Bluetooth device when I answer an incoming call on my smartphone?
When answering an incoming call on a smartphone with the Windows or iOS operating system, the
audio normally stays in the smartphone. To transfer the audio from the incoming call to the Jabra
Bluetooth device, press the Answer call button on the Jabra device. Some smartphones may provide an
option to select where you want to transfer the audio for an incoming call.

How do I charge my Jabra headset?
Use the USB cable supplied to charge your headset on a computer. Some computers may have a
dedicated USB charging port, which is identifiable by its yellow colour or a battery icon next to
it. For more information, refer to the user manual for your computer.
Some computers use a USB suspend mode to save power. This may cut off power so the headset cannot
be charged on the USB port, even though the light indicator on the headset shows that it is charging.
If the battery level on the headset has not changed after charging for two hours, you can use the
following alternative charging methods.
Jabra options:
Purchase a Jabra AC adapter or Jabra car charger online here or at a nearby retailer.
Third-party options:
Use a third-party micro-USB charger to charge your headset on your mobile phone. A third-party charger
should meet the following requirements:
A mono/stereo Bluetooth headset, such as Jabra Stealth or Jabra Sport Pulse Wireless, is
charged by a charger/cable that supports a minimum of 500 mA and a maximum of 2,100 mA.
Speakerphones/music speakers, such as Jabra Speak 450 or Jabra Solemate Mini, are charged by
a charger/cable that supports a minimum of 500 mA and a maximum of 2,100 mA.
In-car speakerphones, such as Jabra Tour, are charged by a charger/cable that supports a
minimum of 750 mA and a maximum of 2,100 mA.
The Jabra Solemate and Jabra Solemate 2nd generation with NFC are charged by a
charger/cable that supports a minimum of 1,000 mA and a maximum of 2,100 mA.

To preserve power, your Android smartphone may be closing background apps such as Jabra Service. If
Jabra Service is closed, then the Jabra Sound+, Jabra Sport Life, and Jabra Assist apps cannot discover a
connected headset. You can change the power save settings on your smartphone to keep Jabra Service
open by using the following steps. Note the steps may vary from Android device to Android device.
Turn off the battery optimisations for the Jabra Service and Jabra Sound+ apps:
1. Open the Android settings app.
2. Select Battery.
3. Tap the three dots in the top right corner.
4. Select Battery optimisation.

5. In the Not optimised dropdown, select All apps.
6. Tap Jabra Service.
7. Select Don’t optimise.
8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 for the Jabra Sound+ app.
Allow background activity:
1. Open the Android settings app.
2. Select Apps & Notifications.
3. Choose to see all apps.
4. Select Jabra Service in the list.
5. Tap Battery.
6. Under Manage battery usage, enable Background activity.

Huawei smartphones, by default, use power save measures that prevent apps such as Jabra
Service from launching automatically. If Jabra Service is closed, then the Jabra Sound+, Jabra
Sport Life, and Jabra Assist apps cannot discover a connected headset. You can change the
power save settings on your smartphone to keep Jabra Service open by using the following steps.
Note the steps may vary from Android device to Android device.
Enable Jabra Service to launch:
1. Go to Settings>Battery>App Launch.
2. Select Jabra Service.
3. Select Manage Manually and allow the three options.
Turn off the battery optimisations for the Jabra Service and Jabra Sound+ apps:

1. Open the Android settings app.
2. Select Battery.
3. Tap the three dots in the top right corner.
4. Select Battery optimisation.

Can I pair my Jabra Bluetooth device with a computer?
No, we do not support direct connectivity between a Jabra Bluetooth device and a computer. We
therefore cannot guarantee device performance, or provide support for performance problems
that may result from using unofficial compliance.
Jabra Bluetooth headsets are optimised to be used with smartphones/mobile phones. They are not
specifically optimised to be used directly with a computer.
Pairing your Jabra Bluetooth device with a computer may work for audio streaming, but not for
call control, which is not supported by many computers. Also, if connected to a computer, audio
quality could vary because Bluetooth is not optimised for audio streaming on many computers.
However, this would be highly dependent on the specific model of the computer.
In addition, Bluetooth connectivity would place the following requirements on a computer:
The appropriate Bluetooth drivers from the computer manufacturer must be installed. Jabra
does not supply Bluetooth drivers, and Jabra devices are therefore dependent on the drivers
already installed on a computer.

The computer must also support the Bluetooth profiles that are supported by the Jabra device.
The Bluetooth profiles for Jabra devices are listed in the technical specifications located on the
Jabra product support pages.
The latest operating system updates from Microsoft or Apple must be installed on the
computer.
