The New Rugged WCRAL series of
Aluminum & Steel Live Welding
Cable Reels
•Live Reels (can be spooled in and out while welding)

WCRAL Safety
•Caution: Take all precautions to avoid electric shock. Welding produces
20 to 100 volts. Even 50 volts is enough to stop a person’s heart.
•Javelin Welding Cable Reels are insulated. Insure that they remain
insulated by checking the insulators are in good condition and the cable
insulation is not cracked.
•Shrink wrap or apply electrical tape to all but the contact end of the
connection cable lug.
•Be sure cable lug contact points and WCRAL contact points are clean and
free of corrosion.
•When operating in winter conditions where road salt is used be aware
the salt can corrode electrical contacts. Clean contacts as needed.
Caution: Insure welding cable lug
is shrink wrapped to insulate
stem of lug from the reel
Check welding cable insulation
regularly and replace damaged
cable immediately.

M10 flat head socket mounting bolts
•4 - M10 flathead socket mounting bolts are supplied to fit
the mounting bracket.
•You will need a 17mm wrench and 6mm hex key wrench.
•Insure welding cable lug is shrink wrapped to insulate the
lug stem from the reel (Refer to WCRAL Safety)
Installation

Maintenance & Parts Available
•Keep contacts clean.
•Note: When operating in winter conditions where salt
is used to deice roads we suggest cleaning contacts
more often due to the corrosive action of the salt.
•Replacement parts are available for WCRAL reels.

SET SCREWS
AND SWIVELING CONTACTS
LUBRICATE THE
SWIVELING CONTACTS :
Occasionally
(at least once every 12 months)
put a small dab of grease
on the brass swiveling contacts.
Access the swiveling
contacts by loosening
the 3-locking setscrews
and screwing apart the two
halves of the reel.
