General Safety Information
Please read the following safety information.
•
Read and understand the operating instructions
before use.
•
The vehicle must be properly lifted and supported
before starting repairs.
•
Select the appropriate size transmission jack for
the job. This jack is rated at a 2,000 lb. maximum
load. Do not overload this jack beyond this stated
capacity. Doing so may result in damage to, or
failure of the jack.
•
Keep hands, fingers, and arms away from moving
parts of the jack at all times.
•
Secure the load with the safety chain before
lowering or moving the load.

• Lower the jack slowly and avoid sudden starts
or stops that may cause the load to shift.
• This jack is designed for use only on hard, level
surfaces that are capable of sustaining the load.
Use on other surfaces, such as dirt, or gravel may
result in jack instability and possible loss of load.

Do not use the transmission jack if under the
influence of alcohol or drugs.
•
This jack as been designed and is intended
for use by properly trained and experienced
personnel. If you are not familiar with this piece
of equipment, do not use until reading and
understanding the following instructions.
•
The use of this jack is limited to the removal,
installation, and transportation in the lowered
position of transmissions and differentials.
• Failure to comply with all of these warnings may
cause loss of load. Damage to the jack and/or
failure of jack resulting in serious injury and/or
property damage.
Thank you for purchasing this 2000 lb. transmission
jack from JEGS. This jack is designed to give you
years of reliable service when maintained and
operated as instructed in this manual.
The use of this jack requires working underneath a
vehicle and moving heavy parts. Please follow the
safety information. Failure to do so may result in
personal, and/or, property damage.

Operation

Reference listed part numbers, in parenthesis, to the
tool breakdown on pg.1.
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
1. Move the jack into position under the vehicle.
2.
Turn the release valve knob (5) clockwise to fully
close the pressure valve.
3.
Move the pump handle (6) up and down to raise
the saddle toward the transmission.
4. Adjust the saddle’s forward tilt knob (4) and the
side tilt knob (9), by turning them clockwise or
counter-clockwise to align with the shape of
the transmission.
5. Adjust the jaws (3) and the chains (2) to secure
the transmission on the saddle.
6. Secure the chains with the included hooks and
wing nuts.
7.
Remove mounting hardware, driveshaft, and
disconnect any speedometer cables and cooling
lines if you have not already done so.
8.
Carefully remove the transmission from the
vehicle. Be aware of any nearby wires or lines
that may make contact when lowering.
9.
Turn the release valve knob (5) counter
-clockwise slowly to lower the saddle. Bring the
aaddle down slowly.
10.
Reverse this procedure when reinstalling
the transmission.
Maintenance
The hydraulic cylinder assembly contains hydraulic
fluid that must be kept at approximately 80% of full
at all times for proper operation. See the steps below
to check the level and fill when necessary.
1.
Tum the pressure valve knob (5) counter-
clockwise to lower the saddle.
2. Allow the saddle to lower completely.
3. Unscrew the air valve (10).
4.
Check the fluid level through the air valve opening.
The hydraulic fluid must be approximately 80%
of the capacity of the hydraulic cylinder.
5. Fill with clean hydraulic fluid only.
6. Replace the air valve.
Lubrication
• Lubricate the threads of the forward tilt knob (4)
and the side tilt knob (9) with #2 tube grease
when necessary.
