(POWER OFF - AM - FM – CD/AUX)
POWER SOURCES
This unit oper tes on 120V~ 60Hz or 6 x DC1.5V "C" (UM-2) b tteries. Do not ttempt to oper te
the unit on ny other power source. You could c use d m ge to the unit nd void your w rr nty.
Ple se be sure the power outlet you plug this unit into is working nd receives const nt
(unswitched) power.
AC OPERATION
Plug the det ch ble AC cord into st nd rd AC outlet (120V~60Hz).
1. When the AC power cord (included) is connected to the AC POWER JACK (#20) on the
b ck of the unit nd the other end is plugged into 120V AC~ 60Hz w ll outlet, the unit will
disconnect the b tteries utom tic lly, nd oper te on AC Power only.
2. Slide the FUNCTION SELECTOR (#23) to "CD/AUX" position for CD/AUX pl y, "FM" for FM
r dio, "AM" for AM r dio nd "POWER OFF" for unit power off.
WARNING:
• Before connecting to the power outlet, ensure th t the outlet corresponds to the inform tion
on the r ting l bel t the bottom of the pp r tus.

BATTERY OPERATION
1. Remove the BATTERY DOOR on the bottom of the unit.
2. Inst ll 6 x DC1.5V "C" (UM - 2) b tteries (not included) ccording to the pol rity
di gr m inside the b ttery comp rtment.
3. Close the BATTERY DOOR
IMPORTANT: Be sure th t the b tteries re inst lled correctly. Wrong pol rity m y d m ge
the unit nd void the w rr nty.
BATTERY NOTES AND CARE
1.
D nger of explosion if the b ttery is repl ced incorrectly. Repl ce only with the s me or
equiv lent type
2.
Do not mix old nd new b tteries.
3.
Do not mix lk line, st nd rd (c rbon-zinc) or rech rge ble (nickel-c dmium) b tteries.
4.
If the unit is not to be used for n extended period of time, remove the b tteries. Old or
le king b tteries c n c use d m ge to the unit nd m y void the w rr nty.
5.
Do not try to rech rge b tteries not intended to be rech rged; they c n overhe t nd
rupture. (Follow b ttery m nuf cturer's directions).
6.
Do not dispose of b tteries in fire, b tteries m y le k or explode.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
When the output sound of this unit becomes distorted or the CD pl yer oper tion ppe rs
unst ble, the b tteries re we k. You need to repl ce ll the exh usted b tteries t the s me
time s soon s possible to void b ttery le k ge.
RADIO OPERATION
1.
Slide the FUNCTION SELECTOR (#23) to AM or FM position.
2.
Rot te the TUNING CONTROL (#3) to your desired r dio st tion ccording to the di l
sc le on the knob.
3.
Rot te the VOLUME CONTROL (#10) to djust to the desired output level.
4.
To turn off the r dio, slide the FUNCTION SELECTOR (#23) to OFF position.
TIPS FOR BEST RECEPTION
AM
-
The AM ntenn is loc ted inside the c binet of the unit. If AM reception is we k,
ch nge the position of unit until the intern l ntenn picks up the strongest sign l.
FM
-
If stereo bro dc st progr m is being received, the FM STEREO INDICATOR (#12) will
light. During FM reception, lw ys keep the FM TELESCOPIC ANTENNA (#1) fully
extended for best perform nce. However, if FM reception is we k, try repositioning the
unit ne r n open window until you get the best reception.

CD OPERATION
PLEASE READ THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
CD mech nisms used in devices like this re designed to fully re d ll commerci l CDs. They
will lso re d self-compiled CD-R/CD-RW discs but it m y t ke up to 10 seconds for pl yb ck
to st rt. If pl yb ck does not st rt, it is likely due to the qu lity of the CD-R/RW disc nd/or the
comp tibility of the CD compil tion softw re. M nuf cturer is not responsible for the pl yb ck
qu lity of CD-R/RW discs.
Do not tt ch l bel or se l to either side of the CD-R/RW disc. It m y c use m lfunction.
PLAY MODE
1. Slide the FUNCTION SELECTOR (#23) to the CD/AUX position. The LED DISPLAY (#14)
will light.
2. Open the CD DOOR (#2), lo d CD with the l bel side f cing upw rd nd then close the
CD door (#2).
3. The CD will spin nd st rt re ding the disc inform tion. When finished, the LED DISPLAY
(#14) will show the tot l number of tr cks on the CD.
4. Press PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON (#7) to st rt pl ying the CD; the PLAY/PAUSE
INDICATOR (#15) will light ste dily.
5. While pl ying, press the PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON (#7) to p use pl yb ck. The
PLAY/PAUSE INDICATOR (#15) will be fl shing on the displ y. Press the PLAY/PAUSE
BUTTON (#7) g in to resume pl ying.
6. Adjust the VOLUME CONTROL (#10) to the desired volume level.
7. Press STOP BUTTON (#6) to stop pl ying.
8. To turn off the CD pl yer, slide the FUNCTION SELECTOR (#23) to POWER OFF position.
NOTE: If skipping occurs during CD pl y, try turning the volume down. Do not open the CD
DOOR when CD is pl ying.
REPEAT MODE
Repeat 1:
When you first st rt pl ying CD , press the REPEAT BUTTON (#9) once nd the REPEAT
INDICATOR (#16) will fl sh on the LED DISPLAY (#14). The current tr ck pl ying will now
repe t continuously until you stop pl yb ck or ch nge the mode.
Repeat All:
Press the REPEAT BUTTON (#9) g in nd REPEAT INDICATOR (#16) on the LED DISPLAY
(#14) will light up nd st y lit . All tr cks on the CD will pl y in order nd will repe t continuously
until you stop pl yb ck or ch nge the mode.
To Cancel Repeat Function:
Press the REPEAT BUTTON (#16) g in or until the INDICATOR (#16) on the LED DISPLAY
(#14) turn off.

SKIP AND SEARCH MODE
1. During Pl y or P use mode, t p the CD SKIP + BUTTON (#4) or CD SKIP -
BUTTON (#5) to go to the next tr ck or go b ck to the beginning of the current tr ck.
2. During pl y mode or P use mode, press nd hold the the CD SKIP + BUTTON (#4) or
CD SKIP - BUTTON (#5) to se rch within the current tr ck with udible high speed
pl yb ck.
PROGRAM PLAY MODE
This function llows music tr cks to be pl yed in progr mmed sequence.
NOTE: Progr m c n only be set in STOP mode.
1. Press the PROGGRAM BUTTON (#8) once. The progr m number 01 nd the PROGRAM
INDICATOR (#17) both will fl sh.
2. T p the CD SKIP + BUTTON (#4) or CD SKIP - BUTTON (#5) to select the tr ck to
be progr mmed.
3. Press the PROGRAM BUTTON (#8) g in to store the selection. The progr m number will
dv nce to 02 nd fl sh to prompt for the next input.
4. You m y repe t steps 2 to 3 to progr m up to 20 tr cks. As soon s you h ve entered the
20th tr ck, the LED DISPLAY (#14) will utom tic lly show the progr mmed tr cks one by
one in their correct sequence st rting from the first. At the end of progr m review, progr m
number 01 nd the PROGRAM INDICATOR (#17) will both fl sh.
5. Press the CD PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON (#7) to complete nd st rt progr m pl y. The
PROGRAM INDICATOR (#17) will light up. Press the CD STOP BUTTON (#6) to stop.
6. Norm lly ll the progr mmed tr cks will be pl yed through once nd then stop. However, you
m y use the REPEAT function to repe tedly pl y cert in tr ck (Repe t 1) or ll tr cks
(Repe t All) in the progr m. You m y lso t p the CD SKIP + BUTTON (#4) to go directly
to other tr cks he d or the CD SKIP - BUTTON (#5) to go b ck to previous tr ck(s)
during progr m pl y.
7. To edit the progr mmed tr cks during progr m pl yb ck, press the CD STOP BUTTON
(#6) nd then the PROGRAM BUTTON (#8). Progr m number 01 on the LED DISPLAY (#14)
nd PROGRAM INDICATOR (#17) will both fl sh.
. If you do not w nt to ch nge ny tr ck in the progr m, press the CD STOP BUTTON
(#6).
b. To edit progr mmed tr ck, t p the PROGRAM BUTTON (#8) repe tedly until you re ch
the progr m number whose tr ck you w nt to ch nge. T p the CD SKIP + BUTTON
(#4) or CD SKIP - BUTTON (#5) to select new tr ck nd press PROGRAM
BUTTON (#8) to confirm.
8. To c ncel progr m pl y, press the CD STOP BUTTON (#6) twice while progr m pl yb ck
is running or open the CD DOOR in stop mode. The PROGRAM INDICATOR (#17) will go off.

AUX IN OPERATION
This unit provides n AUX IN JACK (#22) for connecting extern l udio devices like MP3
pl yers, CD pl yers, sm rt phones nd iPods (except iPod shuffle 3rd gener tion) to listen to
your extern l source through the spe kers of this system.
1.
You need n udio c ble (not included) with one 3.5 mm stereo plug on e ch end of the
c ble.
2.
Plug one end of the c ble into the AUX IN JACK (#22) loc ted on the left h nd side of the
unit nd the other end of the c ble into the Line-out J ck or He dphone J ck of your
extern l udio device.
3.
Turn on the extern l udio device.
4.
Turn on the unit by setting the FUNCTION SELECTOR (#23) to CD/AUX position.
5.
The volume level c n now be controlled through the VOLUME CONTROL (#10) of the
unit. Oper te ll other functions on the uxili ry device s usu l.
6.
Set the FUNCTION SELECTOR (#23) to POWER OFF position to turn off the unit.
Notes:
•
If you connected the Line-out J ck on your extern l device then you only need to djust
the volume control of this system. If you connected the He dphone J ck of your extern l
device then you m y need to djust both the volume control of your extern l device nd
the volume control of this system to find the most desir ble volume setting.
•
Remove the udio c ble from AUX IN JACK (#22) when you finish listening. Don't forget
to switch off the power on your extern l device s well.
USING HEADPHONES (NOT INCLUDED)
Inserting the plug of your he dphones into the HEADPHONES JACK (#21) will en ble you to
listen to the R dio or CD music in priv te. When using he dphones, the Built-in Spe kers will
be disconnected.
CAUTION:
• Avoid excessive volume levels for long period of time when using the e rphones.
Prolonged use t high levels m y imp ir your he ring.
• Keep the volume t re son ble level even if your he dset is n open- ir type designed
to llow you to he r outside sounds. Ple se note th t excessively high volume m y still
block outside sounds.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1.
Do not subject the unit to excessive force, shock, dust or extreme temper ture.
2.
Do not t mper the intern l components of the unit.
3.
Cle n your unit with dry cloth. Solvent or detergent should never be used.
4.
Avoid le ving your unit in direct sunlight or in hot, humid or dusty pl ces.
5.
Keep your unit w y from he ting ppli nces nd sources of
electric l noise such s fluorescent l mps or motors.
6.
If drop-outs or interruptions occur in the music during CD pl y, or if the
CD f ils to pl y t ll, its bottom surf ce m y require cle ning. Before
pl ying, wipe the disc from the center outw rds with good soft
cle ning cloth.
