a Dyna mode s.
No. 778 - Use on all Dyna models 2006 to present
Refer to H-D®service manua for the year & mode you’re servicing
for reference and specifications.
Read all instructions before performing this service.
Tools req ired for switch removal and installation:
• 3/8” drive ratchet wrench • 3/8” drive torque wrench
• 3/8” drive extension
• H-D Service Manua for year and mode you’re working on
• No. 243 b ue Loctite thread ock
Switch Removal:
1. Refer to H-D Service Manua for instructions on preparing
motorcyc e for remova and insta ation of the ignition switch /
fork ock.
2. Now you shou d be ready to start the switch remova by remov-
ing the ignition switch abe .
See Fig 1.

3. Next, use a 3/8” drive ratchet wrench and short extension.
P ace JIMS®No.788 too on the end of the extension with pins
facing outward. See Fig 2.
4. Position the 2 pins on too against the switch face nut. Locate
pins in p ate ho es. See Fig 3.
5. Turn c ockwise to oosen face nut. See Fig 4.
6. Refer to H-D service manua for remova of the the switch from
frame.
Switch Installation:
1. Fo ow H-D service manua for insta ation of switch in frame
and correct positioning to engage fork ock.
2. Once switch is in position in the frame app y No. 243 b ue
Loctite to the I.D. of threads of the face nut and thread on by
hand in a counter c ockwise direction onto the switch body.
Next use the JIMS too No.788 and using a 3/8” drive torque
wrench and tighten to H-D specification’s per manua . See
Fig. 4
3. Last step is to insta a new switch abe . This needs to be posi-
tioned correct y before fina insta ation. See H-D service man-
ua . Notice that there is a ocation dimp e on frame for posi-
tioning the abe correct y. See Fig 1.
