John Adams tiny tears User manual

To change the batteries (this should be done by an adult):
• To insert new batteries, undo the Velcro-closure on the back of the doll’s outfit.
• Open the battery-cover lid using a small cross-head screwdriver and insert 3 new LR44
button cell batteries (follow the markings on the inside of the battery compartment).
• Close the battery-cover lid.
The batteries supplied with this doll are ‘try me’ batteries. The amount of use within the
store and age will affect the period of use you may gain from them. If the doll is not
working correctly, then follow these instructions
Please read this information sheet before giving the doll to a
child to play with.
Care and maintenance:
• The doll contains electronic components and can be damaged by immersion in water.
• Surface clean with a damp cloth only.
Important:
• To avoid damage to the electronic components, do not immerse the doll in water.
• The doll will only work properly when batteries are in good condition and inserted
correctly.
• Make sure that positive (+) and negative (-) poles are in the correct positions.
BATTERY INFORMATION:
• Tiny Tears
®
Interactive Doll requires 3 x LR44 button cell batteries (included).
• We recommend alkaline batteries for optimum performance.
• An adult should install the batteries and take note of the following – open the battery-cover
lid on the doll’s back by using a cross head screwdriver. Insert the batteries making sure the +
and – signs on the batteries are aligned with the corresponding + and - markings inside the
compartment.
• Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
• Do not mix different types of batteries, or used and new batteries.
• Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy before charging them.
• Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
• Only batteries of the same or equivalent type, as recommended, are to be used.
• Insert batteries in the correct polarity.
• Remove exhausted (used) batteries from the toy.
• Remove batteries from the toy if it is not going to be used for a long period of time.
• Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
• Batteries should be replaced by an adult.
• Do not attempt to power battery products from the mains supply and do not insert
connecting wires into electrical socket outlets.
• Dispose of used batteries at a recycling point. Never dispose of batteries in fire.
Disposal of old electrical and electronic equipment.
This symbol on the product or its packaging indicates that this product should
not be treated as household waste. Instead it should be handed over to the
appliance collection point of a recycling centre for electronic and electrical
equipment.

Fault: Action:
The doll’s functions do not work. 1. Open the battery-cover lid, insert 3 new LR44
button cell batteries (by following the
instructions on the inside of the battery
compartment) and close the battery-cover
lid.
The doll’s voice is inaudible. 1. Replace the batteries with 3 new LR44
button cell batteries.
During feeding water spills out from
the doll’s mouth, even after the feeding
bottle has been put inside the doll’s
mouth and is being gently squeezed.
1. Make sure the doll is in the lay-down position.
2. Feed the doll with less than 1/8th of the bottle
of water (approx. 20ml) from the feeding
bottle.
3. Put the tip of the feeding bottle inside the
doll’s mouth and push it in slightly until you
hear doll’s ‘drinking’ sound, then squeeze the
bottle gently so that the water goes inside
the doll’s mouth.
4. If there is already enough water inside the
doll and you continue to feed her, water will
spill out from the doll’s mouth. Stop feeding.
Press the doll’s back (upper back button) a
few times, the doll will make crying sound
with water coming out from the doll’s eyes as
‘real tears’. You can also press the doll’s
lower back button and the doll will wet.
The doll does not produce tears. 1. Feed the doll with less than 1/8th of the bottle
of water (approx. 20ml) from the feeding
bottle.
2. Put the tip of the feeding bottle inside the
doll’s mouth and push it in slightly until you
hear doll’s ‘drinking’ sound, then squeeze the
bottle gently so that the water goes inside
the doll’s mouth.
3. Press the doll’s back (upper back button) a
