Danger
Some parts of the power system are operated with high voltage. Direct contact or indirect contact
with these parts through wet objects can be fatal.
Caution
Static electricity generated by the human body can damage static-sensitive components on the
board, such as large-scale integrated circuits (ICs). Before touching the device, holding the card,
circuit board, IC chip, etc., in order to prevent the human body from damaging the sensitive
components, you must wear an anti-static wrist and ground the other end of the ESD-preventive
wrist.

It is strictly forbidden to short-circuit the positive and negative poles of the power distribution
system DC power supply or short-circuit the non-grounding pole to the ground. The power supply
equipment is a constant voltage DC power supply equipment, and short circuit will cause
equipment burnout and personal safety hazard.

Construction operations on high voltage lines may result in fire or electric shock. The area where
the AC cable is routed and routed must comply with local regulations and specifications. Only

Electrical Safety
High Voltage
The installation of AC power equipment must comply with the safety regulations of relevant industries. Personnel
performing AC equipment installation must have high-voltage, AC, and other operational qualifications.
It is strictly forbidden to wear conductive objects such as watches, bracelets, rings, etc. on the wrist during operation.
When you find that the cabinet is watered or wet, turn off the power immediately. When operating in humid environment,
moisture should be strictly prevented from entering the equipment.
On the switches and buttons that are not allowed to be operated during installation, the prohibition operation sign must be
hung.

The polarity of the cables and interface terminals must be strictly checked during DC live working.
DC power distribution operation space is compact, please pay attention to choose operating space before any operation.
Operation must use insulation tools.
When charging operation, you must pay attention to the tension of the hands, wrists and arms to prevent the tool or the
human body from moving too much and causing accidents.

❶Overview
The electric vehicle charger produced by Guangzhou Hoston Energy Technology Co., Ltd. is based on the Linux
embedded operating system, with a 32-bit embedded processor as the core unit. This product is a 20kW portable single-
gun off-board charger, which uses the charging gun to provide DC power for electric vehicles. This product has the
advantages of light weight, small size, easy operation, easy to carry, and wide application scenarios (suitable for the
operation and use of outdoor public parking lots, indoor public parking lots, and enterprise-specific parking lots.).
Main Features
• This system uses a 32-bit high-performance embedded industrial-grade processor as the main controller.
• The power module has a built-in floating-point DSP core to realize intelligent charging management, with automatic
control function, the efficiency is as high as 95%, and the harmonic current content on the input side is ≤5% (50% to
100% full-load output power).
• This system adopts 3.5-inch LED display screen, which shows bright colors, can realize the display in outdoor high-
brightness environment, and can adapt to the environment of -30~55°C.
• Support a variety of BMS battery management communication protocols, realize the charging of different brands of
vehicles, realize real-time monitoring of the battery, and accurately adjust the DC charging output power according to
the demand.
• The system has a charging gun drop-off detection to ensure charging safety.
• The system has multiple input and output detection protections, which can accurately detect input and output voltage
overvoltage and undervoltage, short circuit and insulation faults.
• Support U disk upgrade function.
• Equipped with emergency stop button and emergency stop function.
• One-key start/stop charging.
• With two-color indicator light, fault-red, charging-blue flashing/operating-blue is always on.

2.1 Inspection
2.2 Interface
Please check the following carefully before using this product:
(1) Ensure that the product is free from scratches, rust, deformation, etc.
(2) Make sure that the power supply socket is safe, and that there are no foreign objects left in the charging plug and
the charging socket on the vehicle side.
(3) If the charging cable or charging gun head has problems such as damaged shell and exposed cable, please do not
continue to use it.
(4) Keep the plug of the charging gun dry. If there is water, please dry the water on the charging plug with a dry and
clean cloth when the entire pile is powered off.

If it is a failure to start, it will display the code of the failure to start. If it is a device failure, it will display the
code of the failure.

(6) Device standby
The vehicle is not connected, prompting the customer to insert the gun.
2.3 Status Description
(1) Charging gun connection status: The system detects the connection status of the charging gun and the
vehicle.
(2) System self-inspection: self-inspection process, check whether the charger has the charging conditions.
After the self-test is passed, the charging cable can be plugged in for charging operation.
(3) Start charging: After the charging gun is connected, the user presses the start button (SB1) to charge.
(4) Charging status: The display shows "Charging", and the indicator light flashes (blue).
(5) Charging is complete: the display shows "charging stopped", and the charging indicator is always on
(blue).
(6) Fault status: The display shows "Fault", and the charging indicator is always on (red).

2.4 Trouble Shooting
1) AC input overvoltage/undervoltage: Please check whether the voltage on the AC input side is too high or
too low, and if there is still a fault after troubleshooting the input abnormality, then check whether the
threshold value set in the parameter setting interface is correct.
(2) DC output overvoltage/overcurrent: Please check whether the output voltage and current are within the
range of parameter settings, if not, please check whether the output voltage and current are too high, or
whether the parameter settings are reasonable.
(3) Insulation fault: Please check whether the insulation of the DC bus is normal.
(4) Card reader fault: Check whether the communication line of the card reader is correct, or the card reader
is broken.
(5) Charging gun connection fault: The charging gun is disconnected, please check whether the charging gun
is connected properly.
(6) Emergency stop button failure: Check whether the emergency stop button is pressed, if so, please follow
the above steps to eliminate one by one, and then turn the emergency stop button clockwise to eliminate the
fault.
(7) Unsuccessful shutdown: The communication between the monitoring board and the power module is
faulty. After pressing the emergency stop button with the minimum current, check whether the CAN
communication bus between the monitoring board and the power module is loose.
2.5 Precautions
(1) If the screen shows that the machine is faulty, please do not charge, please contact the staff;
(2) Please follow the relevant prompts of the charging equipment during operation;
(3) Pay attention when plugging and unplugging the charging cable, and do not use too much force;
(4) When an emergency occurs, please press the emergency stop switch. Charging is not allowed at this time.
If charging is in progress, it will stop charging immediately.

2.6 Indicator
Each charging gun corresponds to a charging status indicator board, as shown in Figure 2.
(1) Red light: fault indicator light, indicating that the system is faulty.
(2) Blue light: Charging status indicator light, flashes when charging, and is always on when charging is
complete/standby.
2.7 Charging cable connection detection
The charger has the function of detecting the charging cable. During the charging process, the charging plug
is plugged into the electric vehicle, and the system automatically detects it as a necessary condition for
charging. If the charging plug is not inserted or loose, the charger will not charge to prevent accidental
electric shock.
2.8 Emergency Stop Swtich
(1) In case of abnormal conditions such as fire and electric shock, please press the emergency stop switch
immediately.
(2) If the machine leaks electricity, please press the emergency stop switch immediately.
(3) In case of abnormal conditions such as fire or electric shock, please press the emergency stop switch
immediately.
(4) When the emergency stop switch is pressed in the charging state, the charging will stop immediately, the
output side circuit will be disconnected, and the fault light will be on.
(5) If the pile body fails, charging cannot be stopped, internal circuit short circuit and other abnormal
conditions, please immediately press the emergency stop switch to enter the power supply.
(6) When the emergency stop switch is pressed in the non-charging state, the fault light is on, and the LCD
screen jumps to the fault interface.
(7) When the critical situation is resolved, please rotate the emergency stop switch, otherwise the charging
cannot continue.

3 Routine maintenance
The charging station needs to be regularly checked and perform routine maintenance operations. The specific daily
maintenance contents are as follows:
-Prohibit non-professionals from opening the charger housing and turning on / off the power.
-When the front door is open, it is forbidden to touch any metal parts except the case and door handle.
-Do not operate flying wires, connecting wires and jumpers.
-Check the operating status of the charger monthly, such as MCCB, switches, lightning arresters, charging connectors,
charging modules and etc..
-Check the power limit and single-phase line connection of the distribution box every month.
-Clean the internal dust of the charger once a month.
-Use a dry cloth to clean the dirt of the charging connector monthly, wipe it, and keep the charging connector dry. Do
not drag on the ground during use to avoid abrasion
