TheuseofadditionalairstonesorairlinesisnotnecessarywiththeJUWEL
Aquariums.Ifanairstoneisused,thisshouldalwaysbeplacedinthemiddleof
theaquarium.Capillaryleaksresultingfromtheuseoftheseitemswillnotbe
acceptedasafaultwiththeaquarium.
Donottransportormoveyouraquariumwhilestillcontainingwaterorsand.
Alwaystakecarenottodamagethesealswhilemaintainingyouraquarium.
Donotusetoxicsubstancestocleanyouraquarium.
Safetyinstructions:
Thisapplianceisnotintendedforusebypersons(includingchildren)with
reducedphysical,sensoryormentalcapabilities,orlackofexperienceand
knowledge,unlesstheyhavebeengivensupervisionorinstructionconcerning
useoftheappliancebyapersonresponsiblefortheirsafety.Childrenshouldbe
supervisedtoensurethattheydonotplaywiththeappliance.

WehaveproducedyourJUWELAquariumwiththeutmostcareusingmostadvanced
productiontechniques.Extrastrongpackaginghasbeenusedtopreventdamageto
theaquarium.Pleasenotehowever,thatyouraquariumhasbeentransportedand
handledseveraltimespriortoreachingitsfinaldestination.Werecommend
therefore,thatyoutesttheaquariumforleaksinasuitablearea(e.g.garage),by
fillingitwithwaterandcheckingitverycarefully.
Havingmadeyourchecks,youshouldselectthemostsuitableanddesirableposition
foryouraquarium.Thepositionselectedshouldhaveanevenandlevelsurfaceand
shouldbeabletosupporttheweightofthefilledaquarium.Inordertoprevent
excessivealgaegrowth,werecommendthatyouselectapositionthatisnotexposed
todirectdaylight.
Placetheaquariumdirectlyonthedesignatedbase.Theaquariumiscentredatthe
rearedgeofthebase.Donotuseadditionalpads.

1.Arrangetheinspectedaquariuminasuitableplace.
2.Preparethefilterforoperationasdescribedinthechapter"PuttingtheJUWELfilter
BioflowMiniintooperation".
3.Completethedecorationwithgroundmaterialetc.asdesired.
4.Planttheshortplantspeciesintheaquariumifapplicable.
5.Slowlyfilltheaquariumwithwaterandplanttallerplantspeciesinitifapplicable.
6.Connectthepumpandanyotherdevicesthataresupposedtobeoperatedinthe
watertothepowergrid.
7.Installthecoverlightasdescribedinthechapter"CoverlightsystemJUWEL
Violux".
8.WerecommendintroducinginvertebrateorspecialfishspeciesfortheNanofish
keepinginsteps.Youmayputinthefirstanimalsafterafewdays.Thesealsoensure
thatthebiologicalfilterdevelops.Therun-inperiodofthefiltermaylast6-8weeks.
TheJUWELfilterBioflowMini
TheJUWELfilterBioflowMiniisahighlyeffectivebiologicalfiltersystemwith
componentsthatareharmonizedamongeachotherinanidealmanner.
Installingthefilterintheaquariummakeshoseconnectionsunnecessaryandprevents
leaks.Thepumpoutputisnotnegativelyaffectedbyhosecouplings,intaketubesetc.
Thepumpcapacityisdimensionedinsuchamannerthatthebiologicalfilteringis
ensuredbyasufficientflowthroughthefiltermaterialinanidealmanner.
Theconstructionofthefiltersystemenablesyoutoquicklyaccesstheindividualpump
andfiltermediumcomponents,facilitatingcomfortableoperationwhilecleaningand
maintainingthefiltersystem.

GettingStarted-TheJUWELfilterBioflowMini
Werecommendthatyoupreparethefiltersystemreadyforusebeforeyoufillthe
aquariumwithsand/gravel,plantsandwater.
Pleaseobservethefollowinginstructionscarefullytoensurethatthefiltersystem
worksatitsoptimum.
TheJUWELfilterBioflowMiniconsistsof:
-apump
-afilterhousing
-1bluefiltersponge
-4suctioncups
-anoutlet
Priortothefirstuseofthefilter,openthelowerandupperfiltercoversandremove
thefilterspongeaswellasthepumpinordertorinseallcomponentsunderrunning
water.
Insertthefilterspongeandthepumpbackintothefilterhousingandclosethefilter
covers.
Attachthefilterbymeansofsuctioncupsintherearrightcorneroftheaquarium.The
upperedgeofthefilterhousingshouldbe1cmbelowthewatersurfaceinorderto
achieveagoodflowthroughtheaquarium.
Carefullyattachtheoutletfromtheoutsidethroughtheopeningtothepumpoutlet
andensureitstightfit.

TheJUWELAquariumFilterSystemisabiologicalfiltersystem.Forittowork
effectively,bacteriacultureswillneedtogrowinsidethebluesponges.Thisprocess
cantakeup6-8weeksforthefiltertofullymature.Consequentlywerecommendto
decorateandplanttheaquariumandaddjustafew(3-5)hardyfishinordertohelp
thematurationprocess.Pleasetestthewateronaweeklybasistomonitorthewater
conditionsandoncethewaterissafeyoucanbegintoaddmorefish.

MaintainingtheJUWELPumpBioflow
TheJUWELaquariumpumprequireslittlemaintenance.Regardless,youshouldconfirm
thefunctionalityatregularintervals.
Pleaseperformthefollowingstepsinordertotestandmaintainthepump:
1.Disconnectthepumpandtheheaterfromthepowersupply.
2.Removethenozzles.
3.Removethepumpfromthepumpholderofthefilter.
4.Removethepumphousingfromthemotorandremovetheimpeller.
5.Thoroughlycleanallpartsandparticularlychecktheimpellerforsignsofwearat
themagnet.
6.Afterthat,pleasereinstallthepumpinreverseorderinthefilter.

Recommendation:
Inordertoensurethatthepowerheadoperatesatitsoptimumandmaintainsits
lownoiselevel,werecommendtocheckandpotentiallyreplacethepartssubject
towearandtear,suchastheimpellerregularly.
