Introduction
Notes on handling
Important cautions
Installation of the speakers
Select a place which is level, dry, and neither too hot nor
too cold; between 5°C and 35°C (41°F and 95°F).
Leave sufficient distance between the speakers and the
TV.
Do not use the speakers in a location near heat sources,
or in a place subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust, or
vibration.
Install the speakers in a location with adequate
ventilation to prevent internal heat buildup.
To prevent malfunctions of the speakers
There are no user-serviceable parts inside. If anything
goes wrong, unplug the power cord and consult your
dealer.
Do not insert any metallic objects or liquids into the
speakers.
Safety precautions
Avoid moisture, water, and dust
Do not place the speakers in moist or dusty places.
Avoid high temperatures
Do not expose the speakers to direct sunlight and do not
place them near any heating devices.
When you are away
When away on holiday or for other reasons for an
extended period of time, disconnect the power cord from
the wall outlet.
Do not block the vents
Blocking the vents may damage the speakers.
Care of the cabinet
Stains on the speakers should be wiped off with a soft
cloth. If the speakers are heavily stained, wipe them with
a cloth soaked in water diluted neutral detergent and
wrung well, then wipe clean with a dry cloth.
Since the speakers may deteriorate in quality, become
damaged or get their paint peeled off, be careful about
the following:
DO NOT wipe them forcefully.
DO NOT wipe them with thinners, benzines or other
organic solvents including disinfectants.
DO NOT apply any volatile substances such as
insecticides to them.
DO NOT allow any rubber or plastic to remain in
contact with them for a long time.
If water gets inside the speakers
Turn the speakers off and disconnect the power cord from
the wall outlet, then call the store where you purchased
these speakers. Using the speakers in this condition may
cause a fire or electrical shock.

Dimensions for the wall-mount attachment for
the speaker
Before connecting the speaker
cords
When you connect the speakers to an amplifier, be sure
to turn off the amplifier first.
If the speaker cord is short-circuited while the
amplifier is turned on, it may damage the amplifier.
The impedance of the speaker is 8 Ω. Use an amplifier
that can be connected to a speaker whose impedance is
8 Ω.
If this is not within the speaker impedance range
indicated on the amplifier, you cannot connect these
speakers to the amplifier.
The maximum power handling capacity of the speakers
is 30 W. Excessive input will result in abnormal noise
and possibly damage.
Be sure to turn down the volume level on the amplifier
to prevent unwanted noise before performing the
following operations;
Turning on or off other components
Operating the amplifier
Tuning into FM stations
Fast-forwarding a tape
Continuously reproducing high frequency oscillation
or high pitched electronic sounds
Connecting or disconnecting a microphone
When using a microphone, do not aim it at, or use it
near the speakers; otherwise, the howling sound which
occurs may damage the speakers.
The speakers are magnetically shielded to avoid color
distortions on TVs. However, if not installed properly,
it may cause color distortions. So, pay attention to the
following when installing the speakers.
When placing the speakers near a TV set, turn off the
TV’s main power switch or unplug it before installing
the speakers. Then wait at least 30 minutes before
turning on the TV’s main power switch again.
Some TVs may still be affected even though you have
followed the above. If this happens, move the speakers
further away from the TV.
