PREPARATIONS
Caution:
Do not connect the power cord to an AC outlet
until all preparations are complete.
Unpacking and setting up (Fig. 1 — 4)
1. Remove shipping screw C1) on the base.
2. Remove the dust cover by lifting it up.
3. Remove shipping screws @ — @.
Note:
When the turntable is to be moved, replace
the shipping screws @ — @.
4, Take out the platter and platter mat which
are packed separately.
5. Place the platter carefully on the center
spindle taking care not to damage the spin-
dle and touch internal parts.
6. Set the belt around the pulley (L-L1 only)
(Fig. 2).
7. Place the platter mat on the platter.
Note (QL-L2 only):
When performing this, be sure to align the
sensor slit in the platter mat with the acryl
prism in the platter (Fig. 3).
8. Remove the vinyl strip hoiding the tonearm
on its rest and remove the stylus cover (Fig.
4).
9. Replace the dust cover (Fig. 1).
Where to install the turntabie
Install the turntable on a firm, horizontal and
vibration-free surface.
Connecting to your amplifier or receiver
(Fig. 5)
1. Connect the signal cords to the PHONO ter-
minals on the rear panel of your amplifier or
receiver.
The white plug is for the L(left) channel and
the red plug for the R({right) channel.
2. Connect the power cord to a convenient
AC outlet. .
VORBEREITUNGEN
Achtung:
SchlieBen Sie das Netzkabel erst an eine Steck-
dosean, wenn alle Vorbereitungen beendet sind,

4. Den Plattenteller und die Plattentellermatte,
die separat verpackt sind, auspacken.
5. Den Plattenteller vorsichtig auf die Mittel-
achse setzen, dabei darauf achten, die
Mittelachse und die inneren Teile nicht zu
beschadigen.
6. Den Riemen um die Riemenscheibe legen
(nur L-L1) (Abb, 2).
7. Die Plattentellermatte auf den Plattenteller
legen.
Hinweis (nur QL-L2):
Der Sensorschlitz in der Plattentellermatte
mu mit dem Acrylprisma auf dem Platten-
teller ausgerichtet werden (Abb. 3).
8. Den Vinylstreifen entfernen, mit dem der
Tonarm an der Tonarmstiitze befestigt ist,
und die Nadelkappe entfernen (Abb. 4).
9. Die Schutzhaube wieder anbringen (Abb. 1).
Aufstellung des Plattenspielers
Stellen Sie den Plattenspieler auf eine feste,
horizontale und vibrationsfreie Unterlage.
Anschlu& an den Verstarker oder Receiver
(Abb. 5)
1. SchlieBen Sie die Signalkabel des Plattenspie-
lers an die PHONO-Buchsen Ihres Verstarkers
oder Receivers an.
Der weifge Stecker ist flr den linken Kanal
(L) und der rote Stecker flir den rechten
Kanal (R).
2. SchlieRen Sie das Netzkabel an eine Steck-
dose an.

ON (-m): Press to set to this position to
turn the power on; the indicators and
the lamp for the size detection sensor
(QL-L2 only) will light.
STAND BY ( g.): Press to set to this posi-
tion to turn the power off,
Note:
Even when the POWER switch is off, this
turntable consumes a smal! amount of elec-
tricity (2.5 watts). Disconnect the power
cord to turn the electricity off completely.
@ REPEAT button
Press this button to repeat a record, The
REPEAT indicator will light. To release this
function, press it again; the indicator will go
out,
© Tonearm movement control (< , >)
<_: Press this arrow to move the tonearm to
the left, the tonearm stops when the but-
ton is released,
> : Press this arrow to move the tonearm to
the right, the tonearm stops when the
button is released,
@ UP/DOWN & START/STOP button
UP/DOWN: Press this side to lift or lower
the tonearm. Use this for manual! opera-
tion or when you want to stop playing
temporarily in the middle of a record.
When playing records manually, move
the tonearm to the required position
using the tonearm movement control,
then press this button to lower the tone-
arm,
START/STOP: Press this side to play a re-
cord or to stop the playing of the record.
When this is pressed to start the playing
a record, it acts as the start button and
when this is pressed while a record is
being played, it acts as the stop button,

STOP button or the < , > button, be sure
to press one end of the button.
@ SPEED button (L-L1 only)
Set this button according to the speed of
the record. The corresponding speed indi-

ON (-=): Durch Driicken dieses Schalters
wird das Gerat eingeschaltet, die Anzei-
gen und die Lampe fur den Schallplatten-
groRe-Sensor (nur QL-L2) leuchten.
STAND BY ( 1): Durch nochmaliges Drik-
ken dieses Schalters wird das Gerat abge-
schaltet.
Hinweis: *
Auch wenn der Netzschalter ausgeschaltet
ist, nimmt der Plattenspieler eine geringe
Leistung auf (2,5 Watt). Ziehen Sie das Netz-
kabel aus der Steckdose, um die Spannungs-
versorgung ganz auszuschalten.
@ Wiederholungstaste (REPEAT)
Drucken Sie diese Taste, um eine Schall-
platte zu wiederholen, Die REPEAT-Anzeige
feuchtet. Durch nochmaliges Drucken der
Taste wird diese Funktion wieder freigege-
ben, die Anzeige erlischt.
@ Tonarmtaste (< , >)
< : Durch Driicken dieses Pfeils bewegt sich
der Tonarm nach Jinks und stoppt, wenn
die Taste losgelassen wird,
> : Durch Drucken dieses Pfeils bewegt sich
der Tonarm nach rechts und stoppt,
wenn die Taste losgelassen wird,
O Heben/Senken- und Start/Stop-Taste
(UP/DOWN und START/STOP)
UP/DOWN: Durch Driicken dieser Seite
hebt oder senkt sich der Tonarm. Ver-
wenden Sie diese Funktion beim manuel-
len Betrieb oder um die Wiedergabe in
der Mitte einer Schallplatte kurzzeitig zu
unterbrechen, Fir manuellen Betrieb be-
wegen Sie den Tonarm durch Drucken
der Tonarmtaste zur gewunschten Stelle
und driicken dann diese Taste, um den
Tonarm zu senken,
START/STOP: Diese Seite zum Starten und
Stoppen der Wiedergabe drucken, Diese
Seite der Taste wirkt als Starttaste, wenn
der Plattenspieler steht, und als Stop-
taste, wenn er lauft.

DESCRIPTION
ET FONCTIONS
@ Interrupteur d’alimentation (POWER)
ON (= ): Le mettre sur cette position pour
fournir de lalimentation; les indicateurs
et la lampe du senseur de détection du

STAND BY ( @): Le mettre sur cette posi-

Remarque:
Méme quand cette platine est hors circuit,
elle consomme un peu d’électricité (2,5
watts). Débrancher le cordon d’alimentation

@ Touche d’audition répétée (REPEAT)
Enfoncer cette touche pour que la platine
rejoue un disque. L’indicateur de répétition
(REPEAT) s‘allume alors. Pour mettre fin

d'un disque. En mode de lecture manuelle
se servir de la commande de mouvement
du bras de lecture pour déplacer ce der-
nier, puis enfoncer cette touche pour
abaisser le bras,
START/STOP: Enfoncer ce c6té pour com-
mencer ou arréter !a lecture d'un disque.
Si vous enfoncez cette touche pour com-
mencer la lecture d’un disque, elle sert
effectivement de touche de démarrage;
mais si vous l’enfoncez alors qu‘un dis-
que est en cours de tecture, elle sert de
touche d’arrét.

BEDIENINGSORGANEN
EN HUN FUNKTIES
@ Netschakelaar (POWER)
ON (=m ): druk deze schakelaar in voor het
inschakelen van de netspanning; de indi-
kators en de lamp voor de diametersen-
sor (alleen voor de QL-L2) lichten op.
STAND BY ( m): zet de schakelaar in deze
stand voor het uitschakelen van de net-
spanning.
Opmerking:
Deze draaitafel verbruikt zelfs wanneer de
netspanning is uitgeschakeld een kleine
hoeveelheid stroom (2,5 Watt). Trek de stek-
ker uit het stopkontakt om de netspanning
voliedig uit te schakelen.
@ Herhalingstoets (REPEAT)
Druk deze toets in voor herhaaldelijke weer-
gave van een grammofoonplaat. De herha-
lingsindikator (REPEAT) licht op. Druk de
schakelaar opnieuw in voor het uitschakelen
van de herhalingsfunktie; de indikator gaat
uit.
8 Transportregelaar (< , > )
< : druk deze pijl in om de toonarm naar
links te verplaatsen; de toonarm komt
tot stilstand, wanneer de toets wordt
losgelaten.
> : druk deze pijl in om de toonarm naar
rechts te verplaatsen; de toonarm komt
tot stilstand, wanneer de toets wordt los-
gelaten.
@ Toonarmlift-regelaar (UP/DOWN) en
STAR T/STOP-toets
UP/DOWN: druk deze kant in voor het hef-
fen of dalen van de toonarm. Gebruik
deze funktie voor handbediening of voor
het tijdelijk onderbreken van de weer-
gave. Breng voor handbediening de toon-
arm m.b.v. de transportregelaar (< , >)
naar de gewenste positie en druk vervol-
gens deze toets in om de toonarm te
laten dalen.
START/STOP: druk deze kant van de toets
in voor het beginnen of stoppen van de
weergave. Deze toets funktioneert als
starttoets, wanneer de toonarm op de
toonarmsteun rust, of als stoptoets,
wanneer de toets tijdens weergave wordt
ingedrukt.
Opmerking:
eDruk bij gebruik van de toonarmiift-
regelaar (UP/DOWN) & START/STOP-
toets of de transporttoets ( < , >) slechts
op een uiteinde van de toets.

In record cutting, a linear tracking arm is
used to cut a groove with very close corre-
spondence to the original signal.
To enable the tonearm to follow the signal
in exactly the same way as in record cutting,
it is preferable to have a tonearm working
on the same linear tracking principles, The
main advantages of this tonearm are:
1. Because there is almost no trackingerror,
high frequency harmonic distortion is
eliminated,
2. Because no inside force is generated, the
pressure of the stylus on the left and
right wails of the groove is equal so that
channe! separation is improved, tracking
ability is better and intermodulation dis-
tortion is greatly reduced.
3. Because the tonearm is shorter, its weight
is reduced; this improves tracking ability
together with low frequency response.
@ MANUAL SPEED button (QL-L2 only)
The platter speed is selected automatically,
but if the record is a 45 rom LP or a 33-1/3
rom EP, this button is used for manual
speed selection.
Once this button is pressed, only the manual
select function is engaged. When play is
completed (or the START/STOP button is
pressed), the auto speed select function is
reactivated.
@ QL-L2 indicators
REPEAT indicator: Lights red when the
REPEAT button is set to on.
45 speed indicator: Lights red when 45 rpm
is selected.
Quartz Lock indicator: Lights green when
the platter speed is correct.

OPERATION
To play a record
1,
Place a record on the platter and press the
POWER switch to set it to on; the indicators
and the record size sensor lamp (QL-L2 only}
will light.
. L-L1: Set the SIZE and SPEED buttons ac-
cording to the record (2-1 & 2-2).
QL-L2: The record size is automatically se-
lected. If the record is not standard (a
45 rpm LP or 33-1/3 rpm EP), set the
MANUAL SPEED button as required
(2-3).
. For automatic play
Press the START/STOP button. The platter
will start rotating and the record will be
played. At the end of the record, the tone-
arm automatically returns to the rest.
Notes (QL-L2 only):
elf you press the START/STOP button
with no record, the tonearm will rise then
be lowered without moving from the rest
and the platter will start turning then stop.
e@ As a light sensor is used to detect record
size, transparent and colored records, etc.
may not be played correctly and auto-
matically; with such records use manual
operation.
For manual play
Press the tonearm movement control until
the stylus is above the point from which
you want to start playing the record then
release it, If you press either side of the
button alternately you can move the tone-
arm to the left and right in small steps.
Note:
ein manual operation, do not move the
tonearm by hand, always use tonearm
movement control.
When the tonearm has been moved to the
required position, press the UP/DOWN but-
ton. The tonearm will descend onto the
record surface and the record will start to be
played,
For repeat play
Press the REPEAT button and the REPEAT
indicator lights red. To release this function,
press this button again or press the START/
STOP button, then make sure that the indi-
cator goes out,
- To pause in the middie of a record
Press the UP/DOWN button to raise the
tonearm, press again to restart.
. To stop playing in the middle of a record
Press the START/STOP button, The tone-
arm returns to the rest and the platter stops.

L-L1: Die SIZE- und SPEED-Tasten entspre-
chend der Schallplatte einstellen (2-1 &

OL-L2: Die SchallplattengroRe wird auto-
matisch eingestellt. Bei Schallplatten, die
nicht dem Standard entsprechen (Langs-
pielplatten mit 45 Upm und Singles mit
33-1/3 Upm), die MANUAL SPEED-
Taste verwenden (2-3).
. Automatischer Betrieb
Die START/STOP-Taste driicken, Der Plat-
tenteller dreht sich und die Schaliplatte wird
gespielt. Am Ende der Schallplatte kehrt der
Tonarm automatisch zur Tonarmstitze
zuruck,
Hinweise (nur QL-L2):
eWenn die START/STOP-Taste gedrickt
wird, ohne daf& eine Schallplatte auf dem
Plattenteller liegt, hebt sich der Tonarm
und senkt sich wieder, der Plattenteller
dreht sich und stoppt dann.
@ Da zum Erkennen der SchallplattengraBe
ein Licht-Sensor verwendet wird, kénnen
bei transparenten und farbigen Schallplat-
ten usw. Fehlfunktionen auftreten. Spielen
Sie solche Schallplatten im manuellen Be-
trieb.
. Manueller Betrieb
Driicken Sie die Tonarmtaste, bis sich der
Tonarm Uber der Stelle befindet, an der
die Wiedergabe starten soll, und lassen Sie
die Taste dann Jos. Durch Drucken der ent-
sprechenden Seite der Taste kann der Ton-
arm in kleinen Schritten nach rechts und
links bewegt werden.
Hinweis:
@ Bewegen Sie den Tonarm niemals mit der
Hand, sondern immer mit der Tonarmtaste.
. Wenn sich der Tonarm an der erforderlichen
Stelle befindet, driicken Sie die UP/DOWN-
Taste. Der Tonarm wird auf die Schaliplatte
abgesenkt, und die Wiedergabe beginnt.
. Wiederholte Wiedergabe
Driicken Sie die REPEAT-Taste. Die RE-
PEAT-Anzeige leuchtet. Zur Freigabe dieser
Funktion diese Taste noch einmal oder die
START/STOP-Taste driscken, Uberprifen
Sie, ob die Anzeige erloschen ist.
. Unterbrechung in der Mitte einer Schallplatte
Driicken Sie die UP/DOWN-Taste, der Ton-
arm hebt sich. Wenn die Taste noch einmal
gedriickt wird, wird die Wiedergabe fortge-
setzt.
. Stoppen in der Mitte einer Schallplatte
Driicken Sie die START/STOP-Taste. Der
Tonarm kehrt zur Tonarmstitze zuruck,
und der Plattenteller stoppt.
