operation of the HALOGEN 150 cold light foun-
tain. All essential details of the equipment and

Gerätebeschreibung
Die Kaltlicht-Fontäne HALOGEN 150 ist für en-
doskopische Untersuchungen aller Art geeig-
net. Die Farbtemperatur beträgt ca. 3400 K.
Ein hochwertiges Lampensystem sorgt für hohe
Lichtausbeute, die moderne Konstruktion für
einfache Bedienung und unproblematischen
Service.
Adapter für Lichtkabel anderer Hersteller sind
als Zubehör erhältlich.
Descripción del aparato
La fuente de luz fría HALOGEN 150 es idónea
para toda clase de reconocimentos endoscópi-
cos. La temperatura de color es de unos 3.400 K.
El sistema condensor de gran calidad permite un
elevado aprovechamiento de la luz, mientras que
el moderno diseño facilita el manejo y el servicio
técnico sin problemas.
Pueden suministrarse como accesorios opcio-
nales un adaptador para cables de luz de otros
fabricantes al mismo tiempo.
Device description
The cold light fountain HALOGEN 150 is suit-
able for all types of endoscopic examination.
Color temperature is approx. 3.400 K.
A high-quality condenser system ensures high
luminous efficiency while modern design guaran-
tees easy operation and unproblematic servicing.
Adaptors for light cables of other manufacturers
are available as accessories.

Vorsicht: Die Kaltlicht-Fontäne immer mit der
kleinstmöglichen Helligkeitseinstellung betrei-
ben, die für optimale Beleuchtung notwendig
ist. Dies gilt sowohl bei Direkteinblick als auch
bei Anschluss an eine Videokamera.
Vorsicht: Ein Eindringen von Flüssigkeit in das
Gehäuse ist unbedingt zu vermeiden. Keine
Flüssigkeit auf oder über dem Gerät lagern.
Vorsicht: Das Gerät nur mit der auf dem Typen-

Caution: Always adjust the cold light fountain to
the minimum illumination intensity necessary to
achieve optimum illumination of the endoscopic
scene, either by direct vision or when coupled
to a video camera.
Caution: Avoid allowing fluids to enter the unit.
Do not store liquids on or above the unit.
Caution: Before connecting the unit to the elec-
trical supply lines, verify that the line voltage
stated on the unit's identification plate agrees
with that of the electrical supply lines to be used.
Caution: Use only fuses of the correct rating.
Caution: Do not touch glass bulb with your bare
fingers, use the protective cover. Touching the lamp
with bare fingers may result in starting difficulty.
Caution: Federal law restricts this device to sale
by or on the order of a physician (USA only).

Warning: The electrical installations in the oper-
ating room in which the unit is connected and
operated must comply with the applicable
IEC standards.
Warning: Keep out of reach of patients.
Warning: The instructions and interface specifi-
cations for medical devices and/or system com-
ponents used in combination must be observed
precisely.
Warning: Grounding reliability can only be achieved
when the equipment is connected to a properly in-
stalled “Hospital Only” or “Hospital Grade” recep-
tacle (i.e., approved for use in an operating room
environment). Routinely inspect electrical plug
and cord. Do not use if inspection reveals damage.
Warning: Always unplug the unit before doing
any maintenance work on it (e. g. cleaning).
Warning: Danger of burns. Lamp may be hot.
Warning: Light cable socket may be very hot;
particularly if the temperature switch has been
triggered and the unit has switched off.
Warning: Danger of electric shock. Do not open
the unit. Refer servicing only to qualified per-
sonnel. Any opening of the unit by unauthorized
persons voids the guarantee. The only excep-
tion to this are activities described in this in-
struction manual.

The unit may only be used in medical rooms
whose electrical systems have been installed in
accordance with applicable national regulations.
It is not intended for use in hazardous zones.
This means, for example, that when using easily
combustible and explosive inhalation anesthet-
ics or mixtures thereof, the unit must not be op-
erated inside the hazard zone shown in the dia-
gram. This also applies for easily combustible
and explosive chemicals, e.g. skin disinfectants
and fast-acting surface disinfectants.
The unit is equipped with a connector for at-
taching a ground line. It should be connected
before power is applied to the unit in compli-
ance with current national regulations.

Safety precautions when
operating the unit
It is the user’s responsibility to make sure the
unit is safe and operates properly before using
the unit.
During treatment using the cold light fountain
HALOGEN 150 the patient must be treated and
kept under observation with the usual medical
care. This includes keeping a check on the
progress of treatment, as well as monitoring
sterile application conditions where required by
the type of intervention.

come in handy if the unit has to be transported.

pared light cable and endoscope must be kept
clean if optimal light delivery is to be maintained.
Remove heavy soiling with a lint-free disposable
cloth, disinfect the entrance and exit faces with
a cotton tip applicator soaked in alcohol and
dry.

Adaptor for light cables of
other manufacturers
If necessary light exit can be unscrewed and
replaced by adaptors for light cables of other
manufacturers (see section “Spare parts,
recommended accessories”, page 29).
To do so, unscrew light exit by rotating
counterclockwise.

La toma de luz puede desenroscarse, si es
necesario, con el fin de colocar adaptadores
para cables de luz de otros fabricantes (véase
capítulo “Piezas de repuesto, accesorios reco-
mendados” pág. 29).
Con este fin, hay que desenroscar la toma de
luz girando en el sentido contrario al de las
agujas del reloj.

Die Lichtentnahmestelle kann bei Bedarf
abgeschraubt und durch Adapterstücke für
Lichtkabel anderer Hersteller ersetzt werden

Dazu Lichtentnahmestelle durch Drehung
entgegen dem Uhrzeigersinn abschrauben.

tighten up by rotating clockwise.
