CALIBRATION PROCEDURE
KEISER M3/M3i& M5/M5i CARDIO EQUIPMENT 1
BEFORE YOU BEGIN, PLEASE NOTE:
• Calibration is only required if (1) the computer has
been replaced or (2) the Magnet Assembly has been
disassembled.
• This calibration procedure applies to computer software
version U406 and above (production models built mid-
September 2009 and beyond, see Figure 1).
• To check the software version, remove the batteries for
20 seconds, then reinstall the batteries (see Figure 2).
Observe the computer display during start-up and look
for “U###”.
Note: Allow the computer to sleep before
normal usage.
• This calibration procedure requires a Calibration Tool,
included in the kit that you received (PN 555089).
• STEP 3 through STEP 6 must be completed within
30 seconds. After 30 seconds the computer will exit
calibration mode and must be allowed to sleep before
attempting calibration again.
PREPARATION:
M Series Indoor Cycles
(M3/M3i, M3+, M3/M3i Total Body Trainer, M3X/M3iX)
1. Place the Cycle on a at, level surface with clear
access to the left side.
2. Set the Resistance Lever to the lowest position.
M Series Strider Ellipticals
(M5/M5i)
1. Place the Strider on a at, level surface with clear
access to the right side.
2. Set the Resistance Lever to the lowest position.
3. Set the right Footpad in the down position.
4. Remove the three screws of the Access Port
(#1 Phillips Screwdriver) to access the Magnet
Assembly, see Figure 4.

Begin with the Computer off. Then,
push the Resistance Lever to the lowest
position.
Please be sure to read and understand all instructions on page 1 prior to beginning the calibration procedure below.
The M3i Indoor Cycle is featured in the calibration procedure below (M3, M5/M5i similar).
Please note: STEP 3 through STEP 6 must be completed within 30 seconds.
Pedal 1 full revolution. The following
“Time Row” value will be displayed:
• M3i/M5i = “1”
• M3/M5 = “0:00”
Position the Calibration Tool (Cal Tool):
• Place the Cal Tool onto the
Flywheel as shown above.
• Slide the Cal Tool up until the Cal
Tool comes to a hard stop beneath
the Magnet Holder.
Engage the Magnets into the Cal Tool:
• Turn the Magnet Cover counter-
clocwise until the Magnets stop
against the cutouts in the Cal Tool.
• Release the Magnet Cover and
allow it to return to its rest position.
• Remove Cal Tool (it is no longer
needed).
Pedal 1 full revolution. The following
“Time Row” value will be displayed:
• M3i/M5i = “2”
• M3/M5 = “0:01”
“CAL’b” will display upon successful completion of the Calibration procedure.
(NOTE: Diagnostic values above the “CAL’b” row will vary). Allow the computer to
sleep before use.
TROUBLESHOOTING: If an error symbol “Err#” appears on the display, allow the
computer to enter sleep mode, then begin the calibration procedure again from STEP 1.
If the error persists, note the error number and diagnostic values and contact Keiser
Customer Support at 1 559 256 8000.

Move the Resistance Lever from stop to
stop 6 times.
IMPORTANT: Make sure the Resistance
Lever makes the complete travel from stop
to stop all six times. Failure to do so may force
an error.
