USING YOUR WATER FILTER PITCHER
♦Fill the asket with COLD faucet water
and replace the cover. Wait until the waĆ
ter filters through the cartridge (takes 3 to
5 minutes).
♦To fill the pitcher (a out 2 quarts of filĆ
tered water), remove the cover and fill
the asket with cold water once more, to
complete the atch.
♦Before using the water, read the followĆ
ing notes.
Notes:
•Maximum water temperature is 80°F.
•The first time you use the Water Filter Pitcher,
and whenever you change the cartridge, 
      It may
contain some harmless car on particles
(``fines'') from the new cartridge.
•Use the filtered water immediately, or if you
prefer colder drinking water, refrigerate for latĆ
er use.
•Keep the cover on the pitcher at all times, exĆ
cept when filling, or pouring filtered water.
The cover seals the pouring spout and prevents
odors from entering the cartridge and stored
water.
CARE AND REPLACEMENT OF THE FILTER
CARTRIDGE
♦Always keep the cartridge (and asket) in
the pitcher,    . This limits
the adsor ing of air orne odors, and preĆ
serves the life of the cartridge.
♦DO NOT allow the cartridge to dry-out.
If you do not expect to use the pitcher for
a few days or longer, completely su Ć
merge the cartridge in water until you are
ready to use it again.
If the cartridge does dry-out, soak it in
water for at least 1 hour efore using. This
will restore it as close as possi le to origiĆ
nal condition.
♦Cartridge life is a out 30 days, or 25 galĆ
lons (50 pitcherfuls) of filtered water.
This time will vary with the quality of the
faucet water. When you notice taste and/
or odor in the filtered water, replace the
cartridge.
Note: Keep the new cartridge wrapped in the
plastic ag until you are ready to use it.
SERVICE CHECK LIST
FILTERED WATER HAS BAD TASTE
AND/OR ODOR. –The carbon cartridge needs replacing.
FINE, BLACK PARTICLES IN FILTERED
WATER. –This is harmless carbon ‘‘fines’’ from a new
cartridge. Discard the first complete batch of
filtered water after changing the cartridge.
