(FIG. 3C) be sure t place the 3/4" and 13/16" gaskets as sh wn. Before
tightening, be sure the coll r is on the chrome d ptor.    

4. Using the 15/16" gasket as sh wn in FIG. 4, page 5, fasten the faucet filter t the
adapt r(s) installed in step 3. Y u can p siti n the faucet filter as sh wn in FIG.
4, with the water diverter c ntr l t the right. Y u can als turn the filter s the
c ntr l is t the left, r p siti n as therwise desired. Turn the c llar nt the
filter, being c reful not to cross-thre d. Tighten securely, but do not
overtighten nd bre k the filter.

CONNECT THE FILTER TO A FAUCET
 CHECK FOR LEAKS: Open the 
water faucet and adjust to a medium
flow. Check for leaks around the
collar and adaptors, and tighten if
needed to stop the leak.
: Never direct  water into
the filter.     

 PURGE FILTER CARTRIDGE: With
the cold water faucet still open, turn
the water diverter control on the
filter, to route water through the filter
cartridge (FIG. 5). Allow water to run
through the filter for a out 1/2
minute to purge small, harmless
car on particles from the cartridge.
USING YOUR FAUCET WATER FILTER
 Be sure to purge a new filter
cartridge as instructed in step 6, a ove.
JOpen the     water
faucet and adjust to a medium flow.
: Never direct  water into
the filter.     

JHold a glass, cup, pitcher, or other
container under the filtered water
outlet.
JOpen the water diverter control on
the filter, and catch the water in the
container. When full, close the cold
water faucet and / or water diverter
control.

REPLACING THE FILTER CARTRIDGE
The replaceable filter cartri ge provi es
high quality filtere water for about 3
months or 200 gallons, whichever
occurs first. If the water supply to your
house is poor quality, the cartri ge may
not last that long. Always replace the
cartri ge when you notice the return of
ba taste an /or o or in the filtere
water. Do the following steps TO
REPLACE THE CARTRIDGE.
 Be sure the sink water faucet is
close .
 Hol ing the water filter base with 1
han , turn off (counterclockwise
) the filter cap.
 Remove an iscar the filter
cartri ge.
 Remove the new filter cartri ge from
the package an set into place in the
filter base.
 Be sure the o-ring seal on the filter
base is wette with water. Then, turn
the cap on an tighten snugly.
 PURGE FILTER CARTRIDGE: With
the  water faucet open, turn the
water iverter control on the filter, to
route water through the filter
cartri ge. Allow water to run
through the filter for about 1/2
minute to purge small, harmless
carbon particles from the cartri ge.
The filtere water is now rea y to
use.

TROUBLESHOOTING CHECK LIST
Filtered water has bad
taste and/or odor.
–The filter cartridge needs replacing.
–Waterdivertercontrolnotturnedtodirectwa-
ter into the filter.
Fine, black particles in
filtered water.
–This is harmless carbon ‘‘fines’’ from a new
cartridge. Discard the first few cupfuls of fil-
tered water after changing the cartridge.
No water flow from the
filter.
– Cold water faucet not opened and/or water
diverter control not turned to direct water into
the filter.
