DS678 Hints & Tips
To reach a maximum lifetime of the battery-pack of the KENT Mini
Stapler, we recommend always storing the power unit fully charged.
UPDATED: 20.10.2015
Instructions for use
1. Choose the suitable shape of staple and place it into the electrodes (see list of staples on next page).
2. Insert the staple into the electrodes, in the angle that most suits the application (0°, 45°or 90°).
3. Once the staple is inserted into the electrode, position the staple against the area to be repaired.
4. Push the red or blue button and exert a slight pressure in order to let the staple slowly penetrate into the
plastic part. The colour of the button determines the power to use according to the thickness and the type of
plastic material:
•Blue (low power, 12.75W): plastic with 1.5 to 2 mm thickness
•Red (high power, 17W): hard plastics with thickness over 2 mm
5. Release the button and wait 3 seconds before withdrawing the KENT Mini Stapler, in order to allow the
melted plastic to harden.
6. Repeat the operation in all necessary areas until the repair is complete.
7. Cut off the excess parts of the staples with cutting pliers (protect your eyes against flying parts).

Precautions and safety
The staple inserted into the electrode during the welding phase reaches a temperature of about 500°C.
Be very careful as improper handling can cause serious burns, sparks or fire.
•Use safety goggles and heat resistant gloves when working.
•Before inserting the staple be sure the electrodes are cold.
•Do not touch the staple clip during the heating phase while it is positioned on the electrodes.
•Do not use in presence of flammable products.
•Do not use with wet hands.
•Do not store or use in humid environments.
•Do not store in direct sunlight.
•This product is designed for the repair of plastic material only.
•The KENT Mini Plastic Stapler should be used only with the original KENT staples.

Before use
Charge the unit completely before the first use.
Always charge the batteries completely (approx. 5 hours).
1. Plug in the battery charger to the electricity supply system.
2. Connect the battery charger to the side connector of the KENT Mini Stapler.
3. During charging process, the LED on the front side will be flashing (1 flash per second) .
4. The battery-pack is fully charged when LED stops flashing.
5. The battery-pack is empty when during the working process the LED starts to flash.
NB: Work can be continued by connecting the battery charger to the KENT Mini Stapler.
Hint: to reach the optimal lifetime of the battery-pack, the unit should be charged only when the batteries
are discharged completely (LED is flashing during work process).
•The charging progress is controlled by temperature of the battery-pack by a micro chip. After a longer use
of the KENT Mini Stapler, the batteries might reach an elevated temperature. The charging process will be
delayed until the batteries have cooled to the standard temperature.
•In case the unit has not been in use for a longer period and the batteries are completely empty, it is
necessary to plug in the unit for mininum 15 min. in order to be able to work with the plugged in charging
cable.
