to the driver. Viewing by the driver while operating the vehicle will create an unsafe condition.

not recommend connecting hanging wires or cables to auxiliary connectors while the vehicle is
in motion.
-This product must
not obstruct the driver's rear view when installed or used.
-It is the responsibility of the purchaser and installer to comply with all applicable laws and regulations governing
the installation and use of this product.

for any property damage or personal injury that may result from improper or
unintended installation or use of this product.

Safety precautions
AWARNING
To prevent injury or fire, take the following precautions:
•Insert the unit all the way in until it is fully locked in place. Otherwise, it may fall out of place when jolted.
•
To prevent ashort circuit, never put or leave any metallic objects (such as coins or metal tools) inside the unit.
•If the
unit starts to emit smoke or strange smells, turn off the power immediately and consult your Kenwood dealer.
•
Do not connect the unit to the front monitor. This unit is for rear seat entertainment.
•
Do not attempt to pull down or hang from the unit after proper installation.
Doing
so may cause damage to the unit or cause personal injury.
ACAUTION
To prevent damage to the unit, take the following precautions:
•Make sure to ground the unit to anegative 12V DC power supply.
•
Do not open the top or bottom covers of the unit.
•
Do not install the unit in aspot exposed to direct sunlight or excessive heat or humidity. Also avoid places with too much
dust or
the possibility of water splashing.
•
Do not use your own screws. Use only the screws provided. If you use the worng screws, you could damage the unit.
When replacing afuse, only
use a new one with the prescribed rating. Using afuse with the wrong
rating may
cause your unit to malfunction.
NOTE
• If you experience problems during installation, consult your Kenwood dealer.
•
The illustrations of the display and the panel appearing in this manual are examples used to explain more clearly how
the controls are used.
Therefore, what appears on the display in the illustrations may differ from what appears on the actual display

of the illustrations on the display may represent something impossible in actual operation.
Lens Fogging
Right after you turn on the car heater in cold weather, dew or condensation may form on the lens in the
DVD player of the unit. Called lens fogging, DVD may not be played in such condensation.
Ifthe
unit still does not operate normally after while, consult your Kenwood dealer.
Cleaning the Unit
Ifthe faceplate of this unit is stained, wipe it with adry soft cloth such as asilicon cloth.
Ifthe faceplate
is stained badly, wipe the stain off with acloth moistened with neutral cleaner, then wipe neutral cleaner off.

•Applying spray cleaner directly to the unit may affect its mechanical parts. Wiping the faceplate with ahard cloth or using
avolatile liquid
such as thinner or alcohol may scratch the surface or erase characters.
This product incorporates copyright protection technology that is protected by U.S.patents and other intellectual property

Use of this copyright protection technology must be authorized by Macrovision. Reverse engineering or disassembly is
prohibited.

Unplayable discs
This player cannot play back any of the following discs.
•DVD-ROM/DVD-RAM discs •HQ-VCD discs
• CDV discs (Only the audio part can be reproduced) •Photo CD discs
•CD-G/CD-EG/CD-EXTRA discs(Only the audio can be reproduced) • SACD/HYBRID SACD discs
Also, you cannot play back the DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW discs if not recorded in the DVD-Video
format.
Restrictions due to difference between discs
Some DVD and VCD discs can be played only in certain playback modes according to the intentions of
the software producers. As this player plays discs according to their
intentions. some functions may not work as intended by you. [0 ]

About the remote
Loading the battery
1. Use two" AAA"- size batteries.
Open the cover while pressing downwards
to remove
it as illustrated.
2. Insert the batteries with the +and -poles aligned properly,
following the illustration inside the case.
AWARNING
•Store unused batteries out of the reach of children. Contact adoctor immediately if the battery is accidentally swallowed.
Do not put the remote in aplace where it moves when you drive. If it falls under the brake pedal, etc., it will hinder your
driving, and
cause danger.
~ • Do not set the remote in hot places such as on the dashboard.

•The provided batteries are intended for use in operation checking, and their service life may be short.
•When the remote controllable distance becomes short, replace both of the batteries with new ones.

About discs
Handling discs
·Don't touch the recording surface of the disc.
•
CD-R and CD-RW are easier to damage than a
normal music
CD. Use a CD-R/RW, DVD-R/RW or
DVD+R/RW after reading the caution items on
the package etc.
•
Don't stick tape etc. on the disc.
Also,
Don't use adisc with tape stuck on it.
When using anew disc
If the disc center hole or outside rim has burrs,
use it after removing them with aball point
pen etc.

temperature is high .

the rear seat passenger by pushing the SPC button.

FM transmitter for audio
In order to listen to the audio portion of the disc through the vehicle speakers, setup the settings once the
unit has been installed.

1. Press the •(dot) button for 1.5 sec to bring out the control menu for FM transmitter
on the screen of the unit.
2. Press the up Aor down ...arrow buttons to turn the FM transmitter on or off.
3. Press the left ... or right ~ arrow buttons on the Unit to tune FM transmit frequency.
When the unit's
FM frequency matches with vehicle audio head unit's FM frequency,
the Audio will come
out through vehicle speakers.

Releasing the Monitor
Push the open button (located at the front of your screen) and open the monitor to the desired level.
You can also adjust the swivel angle.

Determining how the unit
re-acts to amovie disc according to
rating .
•Password: No factory default is registered at the
initial mode. It only displays 'New'.
Auser can register apassword
with
4 digit numbers on the remote controller.
2. Select values with the left/right arrow buttons after
highlighting the menu to change.
The
parental lock is a rating limit system for
DVD movies. It works with DVD discs that have
been assigned a
rating.
Auser can decide which ratings can be played
without blocking.(The factory default is Unlock.}

Default: Loading the factory default
for re-setting system.
•Screen Saver :Selecting Enable/Disable
