Maintenance Procedures
1. Disconnect the KSE 250 from it’s power supply.
2. Turn the unit upside down and remove the 5 screws that attach the base to the
housing. Then remove the base from the housing. The four brushes may now be
removed by taking out the three screws that fasten each brush to the housing.
3. The brushes should be washed with a mild shampoo and cool water. Rinse well
after washing. To dry the brushes, lay the wet brush on a lint free cloth. Comb the
bristles straight, as they have a memory and should dry in the original position.
4. After the brushes have dried, vacuum them vigorously to remove any
embedded debris.
5. When reassembling, install the two upper brushes first. After the upper brushes
are secure, install the lower brushes, but do not tighten the mounting screws.
6. Place the KSE-250 upside down on a flat horizontal surface and examine the
brushes. Be sure the upper and lower brushes are in contact along their entire length.
Adjust as necessary, and then tighten all the brush mounting screws.
7. IMPORTANT NOTE: Cleaning the emitters should be done ONLY after the KSE
250 has been disconnected from the power overnight. (A shock hazard may exist if an
emitter is touched or cleaned immediately after use.)
8. The six emitters are located in the printed circuit board in the top of the unit.
Any dust or dirt should be wiped off with a clean swab. This will insure that ionization is
not blocked.
9. Finally, reattach the base to the housing with the 5 screws removed earlier.
