5. Testing the automation
In order to guarantee maximum safety, this is the most important
phaseintherealizationoftheautomation.Thetestcanalsobeused
asaperiodiccheckofthedevicesthatmakeuptheautomatism.
The testing of the entire system must be performed by expert
and qualied personnel who must take responsibility for the
requiredtests,accordingtothepresentriskandverifycompliance
with the provisions of laws, regulations and standards, and in
particularwithalltherequirementsoftheEN12445standardwhich
setsoutthetestmethodstoverifygateautomatisms.
Testing
Everyindividualcomponentof the automatism, forexample safety
edges,photocells,emergencystop,etc.requiresaspecictesting
phase;forthesedevices,theproceduresindicatedintherespective
instructionmanualsmustbecarriedout.Totestthegearmotor,carry
outthefollowingoperations:
01. Check that all the provisions of this manual and in particular
chapter1havebeenstrictlyadheredto;
02.ReleasethegearmotorasshowninFig. 8;
03.Verifythatitispossibletomanuallymovetheopeningandclosing
leafwithaforcenotexceeding390N(about40kg);
04.Lockthegearmotorandconnectthepowersupply;
05.Usingthecontrolorstopdevicesprovided(keyselector,control
buttons or radio transmitters), carry out tests to open, close and
stopthegateandverifythatitsbehaviourcorrespondstowhatwas
expected;
06.Checkonebyonethatallthesafetydevicespresentinthesystem
(photocells,safetyedges,emergencystop,etc.)workcorrectly;and
thatthegate'sbehaviourcorrespondstowhatisexpected;
07.Orderaclosingmanoeuvreandchecktheforceoftheimpactof
theleafagainstthestopofthemechanicallimitswitch.Ifnecessary,
trytorelievethepressurebyndinganadjustmentthatgivesbetter
results;
08.Ifthedangeroussituationscausedbythemovementoftheleaf
havebeensafeguardedbylimitingtheimpactforce,thisforcemust
bemeasuredaccordingtotheprovisionsoftheEN12445standard;
Note–Thegearmotorhasnotorqueadjustmentdevices,therefore,
thisadjustmentisentrustedtothecontrolunit.
Commissioning
Commissioningcanonlytakeplaceafterallthetestingphasesofthe
gearmotorandtheotherdeviceshavebeensuccessfullycompleted.
Forcommissioning,refertotheinstructionmanualofthecontrolunit.
IMPORTANT – Partial or "temporary" commissioning is
prohibited.
6. Maintenance
Regularmaintenanceisrequiredtomaintainaconstantlevelofsafety
andtoguaranteethemaximumlifeoftheentireautomation.
Maintenancemustbecarriedoutinfullcompliancewiththesafety
requirementsofthismanualandinaccordancewiththeapplicable
lawsandregulations.Forthegearmotor,scheduledmaintenanceis
requiredwithinamaximumof6months.
Maintenance operations:
01.Disconnectallpowersources.
02.Checkthestateofdeteriorationofallthematerialsthatmakeup
theautomationwithparticularattentiontotheerosionoroxidation
ofthestructuralparts;replacethepartsthatdonotgivesufcient
guarantees.
03.Checkthatscrewconnectionsaretightenedproperly.
04. Check the moving parts for wear and replace worn parts as
required.
05.Reconnectthepowersupplysourcesandcarryoutallthetests
andchecksprovidedforinchapter5.
Forotherdevicesinthesystem,refertotheirinstructionmanuals.
7. Disposal
This product is an integral part of the automation, and
therefore must be disposed of together with it.
Asfortheinstallationoperations,evenattheendoftheproductlife,
dismantlingoperationsmustbecarriedoutbyqualiedpersonnel.
This product consists of various types of materials: some can be
recycled, others must be disposed of. Ask about the recycling or
disposalsystemsrequiredbytheregulationsinforceinyourarea,for
thiscategoryofproduct.
Warning!-somepartsoftheproductmaycontainpollutingor
dangeroussubstanceswhich,ifdispersedintheenvironment,might
causeharmfuleffectsonboththeenvironmentandhumanhealth.
Asindicated by theside symbol,itis forbiddento dispose ofthis
product with household waste. Have it disposed
of separately, according to the methods set out by
theregulationsinforceinyourcountry,orreturnthe
producttothesellerwhen buying anewequivalent
product.
