本書は、製品について、性能、機能を理解し、安全に、正しくご使用いただくための詳しい情報を
提供するものです。製品をご使用いただく前に、必ずこの取扱説明書をよく読み、製品の使用方
法を正しくご理解ください。そして、冒頭の「安全に係わる重要事項」や「使用上の注意」などに記
載された指示・警告には必ず従ってください。従わなかった場合、重大な人身事故に結びつくこと

当社では、本取扱説明書の警告事項に従わなかったために生じた人身事故、死亡、損害、損失
についての責任は負いかねます。
本書の内容は、あらゆる環境下における運転、操作、点検、保守に潜む危険をすべて予測して
いるわけではありません。できないこと、してはいけないことは無数にあり、本書でそのすべてを
網羅することはできません。したがって本書に「できる」や「してもよい」と書かれていない限り、「で
きない」「してはいけない」とお考えください。本書に記載されていない運転、操作、点検、保守を
行う際に、安全に係わる疑問が生じた場合は、当社または販売店に確認してください。

製品の保証期間は納入後 1年間とします。消耗品を含むすべての部品は北川鉄工所が納入し
た部品を使用してください。北川鉄工所が製作した純正部品以外の部品を使用した際に生じた
人身事故、死亡、損害、損失についての責任は負いかねます。また、北川鉄工所が製作した純
正部品以外の部品を使用した場合、すべての保証は無効となります。

３．製品の範囲
● 本書はエアフィードチューブの取扱説明書です。チャックなど他の周辺機器についてはそ
れぞれの取扱説明書に従うこと。
安全に係わる重要警告事項
安全に係わる重要警告事項として、特に知っておいていただきたいこと、守っていただきたいこと
をまとめてあります。ご使用の前に必ずお読みください。
危険 この表示の注意事項を守らないと、死亡や重傷など重大な人身事故の
原因となります。
エアフィードチューブの取付、点検、交換時には、必ず主電源を切ること。
● 突然エアフィードチューブが回転し、体の一部や衣服が巻き込まれる危険がある。
扉（ドア）を閉めないでスピンドルを回転させてはならない。
● ドアが閉まっていないと回転中のチャックに触れたり、工作物が飛散することがあり危険。
（一般的に手動やテストモードでは、ドア閉の時だけ回転を可能にする安全インターロック機
能が働かない）
使用流体は仕様を越える圧力で使用してはならない。

許容最高回転速度を越えて使用してはならない。

アルコールまたは薬物を飲んで操作してはならない。
● 判断力の低下や誤操作を招き危険。
手袋やネクタイ等、引っかかりやすい服装や装飾品を着用して操作してはならない。
● 機械に巻き込まれ危険。

５．取付
● 以下の手順は KPCE 形または KPCF 形エアフィードチューブの取付手順を示します。それ以
外の形式のエアフィードチューブはそれぞれの納入仕様書または取扱説明書を参照してくだ
さい。
取付手順
① 作業前に必ず機械の主電源を切ってください。
② スピンドルに KPC チャックを取り付けてください。
③ スピンドルにリテーナを取り付けてください。
エアフィードチューブのノックピン(2 ヶ所)を外してください。
ドチューブをスピンドル内に挿入し、グリップを持って手で回しながらエアフィードチ
ューブ先端のねじをチャックにねじ込んでください。(ねじ込む際は工具などで強く締め付けな

● LR長さが 600mm 以上の場合、図 3のように振れ止め止めを設けること。振れ止めを設
けないと振動によりエアフィードチューブの破損を招く恐れがあり、チャックへのエア供給
が遮断され、工作物が飛散し危険。
● スリーブの回り止めは図 4のように隙間を設けること。ボルトなどでスリーブを直接固定し
た場合、エアフィードチューブの焼き付きや破損を招き、チャックへのエア供給が遮断さ
れ、工作物が飛散し危険。
● エアフィードチューブへの配管は軟質素材のホースを用い、エアフィードチューブにホー
スの曲げ力がかからないようにすること。鋼管で配管したり、ホースの曲げ力がかかった
りしたまま回転させるとエアフィードチューブの焼き付きや破損を招き、チャックへのエア
供給が遮断され、工作物が飛散し危険。
● クーラントを使用する場合はクーラントドレンを下向きに配管し、背圧がかからないように
してください。クーラントドレンに配管しなかったり、背圧がかかったりすると漏れの原因と
なります。

● Aポートまたは Bポートにエアを供給した際、エア供給ポートの横に設けられた 2ヶ所のφ
穴よりエアが漏れますが故障ではありません。

personnel in charge of operation of this product. When a beginner uses
this product, receive instructions from experienced personnel, the
distributor or our company.
・ Before installing, operating or maintaining this equipment, carefully
read this manual and the safety labels attached to the equipment.
Failure to follow these instructions and safety precautions could result
in serious injury, death, or property damage.

Preface
This manual provides detailed information about how to safely and correctly use the
product. Before starting to use the product, read this manual carefully and always follow
the instructions and warnings in "Important Safety Precautions" and "Precautions for
Use" at beginning of the manual. Failure to follow these precautions could result in a
serious accident.
Terms and Symbols Used for Safety Messages
In this manual, precautions for handling that are considered especially important are
classified and displayed as shown below depending on the damage of risk including the
seriousness of the harm that could result. Please sufficiently understand the meanings of
these terms and follow the instructions for safe operation.

The triangle is the safety alert symbol used to alert you to potential safety hazards that
could result in injury or death.

This product is a rotary joint for supplying air and coolant to the rotation portion of a lathe.

Our company will not assume responsibility for injury, death, damage, or loss resulting
from not following the instructions in this manual.
There are countless things that cannot or should not be done, and it is impossible to cover
all of them in this manual. Therefore, do not perform any actions unless they are
specifically allowed in this manual. If any questions related to safety arise about operation,
control, inspection and maintenance which are not specified in this manual, please
confirm them with our company or distributor before performing them.

Guarantee and Limitation of Liability
The guarantee period of this product is 1 year after delivery. Use the parts delivered by
Kitagawa Iron Works for all the parts including consumable parts. We will not assume
responsibility for injury, death, damage, or loss caused by usage of parts not
manufactured by Kitagawa Iron Works. Additionally, if parts other than genuine parts
manufactured by Kitagawa Iron Works are used, this guarantee will be completely invalid.

3. Scope of product
・ This instruction manual is for the air feed tube. As for the other application,
follow each instruction manual.
Important Safety Precautions
Important safety precautions are summarized below. Please read this section before first
starting to use this product.
DANGER Failure to follow the safety precautions below will result in
serious injury or death.
Turn off main power supply before attaching, inspecting or replacing air
feed tube.
・ The air feed tube may start rotation suddenly, and a part of the body or clothing may be
caught.
Close door before rotating spindle.
・ If the door is not closed, you may touch the rotating chuck or the work may fly out, which
is very dangerous. (In general, the safety interlock function which allows rotation only
when the door is the manual mode or the test mode)
Do not use the fluid used under pressure exceeding the specification.
・ The air feed tube is damaged and air supply to the chuck is interrupted, causing the
work-piece to fly out.
Do not allow the rotation speed to exceed the maximum allowable speed.
・ The air feed tube is damaged and air supply to the chuck is interrupted, causing the
work-piece to fly out.

Maintain the lubrication oil level of the lubricator.

reduced, causing the workpiece to fly out.
・ The lubrication oil to be used must be the turbine oil type-1 additive free (ISO VG32).
Do not operate the machine after drinking alcohol or taking medication.
・ Dangerous since these lead to operation mistakes and misjudgment.
Do not operate the machine wearing gloves, a necktie, and other loose
clothing or jewelry.
・ Dangerous since it will be caught.

5. Attachment
・ The installation procedure described below is for the KPCE or KPCF type air feed tube.
For the air feed tubes of other types, refer to the Delivery Specification or the
instruction manual supplied respectively.
Installling procedures
1. Before start of work, be sure to turn off the main power of the machine.
2. Install KPC chuck to lathe spindle.
3. Install the retainer to lathe spindle.

When LR length is 600 mm or more, prepare the steady rest as shown as Fig.3.
If the steady rest is not prepared, a feed tube may be damaged by vibration,
this is dangerous as the workpiece will fly out.
・ Ensure a clearance for the sleeve lock as shown in Fig.4. If the sleeve is fixed
directly with bolts, etc., the air feed tube gets seized or damaged and air
supply to the chuck is interrupted, causing the workpiece to fly out.
・ Use a hose made of soft material for piping to the air feed tube so that bending
stress of the hose is not applied to the air feed tube. If a steel pipe is used for
piping, or if the air feed tube is turned with bending stress of the hose applied,
the tube gets seized or damaged and air supply to the chuck is interrupted,
causing the workpiece to fly out.
・
・ When you use coolant, pipe a coolant drain downward, and keep back pressure
from being applied. It will become a cause of a leak, if a coolant drain is not piped or
back pressure is applied.
・ When air is supplied to the ports A and B, the air leaks from the two φ1 holes beside
the air supply port, but it is not faulty.
・ Ultimate disposal of this product should be handled according to all national laws and
regulations.
