DEPLOY OUTRIGGERS PRIOR TO SETTING
ON ESCALATOR.
DO NOT WEAR LOOSE CLOTHING OR JEW-
ELRY WHEN OPERATING MACHINE. KEEP
HAIR & CLOTHING AWAY FROM MOVING
PARTS.
THE 2240 MUST BE ALIGNED WHEN
SLIDING ONTO ESCALATOR. SLIDING THE
2240 ONTO ESCALATOR AT AN ANGLE
MAY CAUSE BINDING WHICH COULD DAM-
AGE THE ESCALATOR AND/OR THE 2240.
SEE DIAGRAMS BELOW.
NEVER USE POWER CORD FOR CARRYING,
PULLING OR UNPLUGGING THE 2240.
KEEP CORD AWAY FROM MOVING PARTS.
DO NOT MODIFY PLUG OR USE ADAPTER
PLUGS.
1
1. Measure width of escalator.
2. Measure distance from comb strip to
face of escalator kick-plate where esca-
lator grip rail passes through.
3. Extend vacuum pick-up heads and
brushes on both sides of the 2240 un-
til each snaps into a position just under
width measured in step 1.
4. Align the 2240 with escalator and tilt
handle down. DO NOT SET ON ESCALA-
TOR AT THIS TIME.
5. On the side of machine shown above,
find hole in outrigger slide whose dis-
tance from the brush is just over that
measured in step 2. Place outriggers into
these holes.
6. Carefully slide the 2240 onto the
escalator insuring vacuum pick-ups or
