HOW TO USE YOUR KETTLE
It is recommended that yo operate the kettle several times following the below
instr ctions and then discard the water before first proper se. This will remove
the materials or d st remaining in the appliance, which is ca sed by the
man fact ring process.
1. Open the lid a tomatically by press down the Lid Knob and fill the kettle
with water. Then replace the lid, otherwise the kettle can not c t off power
a tomatically after water has been boiled.
Ca tion: The filled water level m st be between the “Max” and “Min” level
as indicated on the ho sing. Too little water will do damage to the heat
element and if the water is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.
2. Replace the kettle on the Power Base and connect to power s pply.
Position the kettle so that the spo t of kettle is facing away from yo .
3. The kettle will emit a so nd and the display screen will display the c rrent
temperat re. DO NOT open the lid while the water is boiling. At that time,
the “+” “-“ is active. Press the “+” ‘-“ switch to choose the desired
temperat re yo wish yo r water to be heated to. (The choice of
temperat re range is between 20°C and 100°C). It will defa lt to 100°C if
yo don't make a selection. Press the “ ” switch and the water will begin
to heat p. The kettle will a tomatically t rn off when the water is heated
p to the selected temperat re.
Ca tion: Ens re that switch is clear of obstr ctions and the lid is firmly
closed. The kettle will not t rn off if the switch is blocked or if the lid is left
open.
KEEP WARM SETTING
When the power b tton is pressed, the temperat re will flash on the screen.
When this happens, the temperat re setting can be adj sted sing the + or –
b ttons.
Once the desired temperat re is set, hold down the power b tton for 3 seconds.
The screen will flash with “xx” (with xx representing the temperat re). The
kettle will then heat the water p to that temperat re, and if the temperat re
drops below that setting, it will a tomatically heat the water back p again.
AUTIONN
•Never operate the appliance empty. In the event of this happening, the
thermal c t-off inside the kettle will operate to c t off power a tomatically.
Unpl g the appliance and let it completely cool down.
•The filter m st be in place d ring operation otherwise water spillage may
occ r.
•Any sit ation where the kettle has been dropped may res lt in cracked
glass. Please exercise extreme ca tion.
•If cracks appear in the kettle, f rther se is forbidden as it will be extremely
dangero s to se.
NOTE: Ensure the power is turned off while the kettle is not in use.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When sing electrical appliances, the following basic safety preca tions sho ld
always be followed:
1. Read all instr ctions before se.
2. Before connecting the kettle to the power s pply, check that the voltage
indicated on the appliance corresponds with the voltage in yo r home. If
this is not the case, contact the Kogan c stomer service team and DO NOT
se the kettle.
3. Unpl g from o tlet when not in se or when po ring water in the body of
the j g. When kettle will not be sed for an extended period of time, please
clean the nit. Allow nit to cool completely before cleaning.
4. Do not let cord hang over edge of that table or co nter or to ch any hot
s rfaces.
5. Place the appliance on a flat s rface. Do not place on a heated s rface or
near a hot gas or electric b rner, or in a heated oven.
6. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, pl g, power base or
kettle in water or any other liq id.
7. Ens re that the kettle is sed on a firm and flat s rface, well o t of reach of
children.
8. This appliance is for boiling water only. Don’t se it for milk, coffee or tea,
etc. When boiling, remember keeping the water level between MIN and
MAX.
9. Do not to ch hot s rface. Use handle or knobs only.
10. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or pl g or after the
appliance malf nctions. Contact the Kogan c stomer s pport team for
f rther information.
11. Do not let children play this prod ct. When in se, please keep a close eye
on children to ens re that b rns do not happen.
12. Be caref l when opening the lid for refilling when the kettle is hot.
13. The kettle is for ho sehold se only, not for o tdoor se.
14. Do not se the appliance when lack of water.
15. Avoid contact with steam from the spo t when the water is boiling or j st
after it has switch off. DO NOT immediately open the lid.
16. Always ens re the lid is closed and do not lift kettle while the water is still
boiling. Scalding b rns or operational malf nctions may occ r if the lid is
removed d ring the brewing cycle.
17. Always npl g from the pl g socket when in following conditions: No water
in kettle, filling water, not in se , before cleaning or when moving the
kettle.
18. The kettle can only se with the stand provided. Do not se the appliance
for other than intended se.
19. Save a copy of this instruction manual.
LEANING & MAINTENAN E
1. Remove the pl g from wall o tlet and let the appliance completely cool
down before cleaning.
2. Do not immerse power cord, kettle or power base in water
3. In order to maintain the polish of the o ter s rface, do not se abrasive
cleaner to wipe the stainless steel ho sing.
This appliance is intended to be sed in ho sehold and similar applications s ch
as:
•staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
•by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
The kettle is only to be sed with the stand provided.
This appliance is not intended for se by persons (incl ding children) with
red ced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, nless they have been given s pervision or instr ction concerning
se of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children sho ld be s pervised to ens re that they do not play with the appliance.
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified Kogan
technician in order to avoid a hazard.
