Before You Begin
Observe all local plumbing and building codes.
Unpack and inspect the bath for damage. Return the bath to the carton until you are ready to
install.
This bath is designed for alcove installation. Models K-1145-F, K-1155-F and K-1245-F are designed
for corner installation.
Provide properly dimensioned framing.
Install the bath to an adequately supported, level subfloor.
The basin area requires no additional support when the subfloor is level and square with the stud
framing. Consider using shims for additional support if the subfloor is uneven.
Before installation, ensure proper access to the final plumbing connections.
Verify adequate mounting and connection space for the faucet.
Confirm adequate support for the faucet. Large deck-mounted faucets that may be inadvertently
used as a means of support are not appropriate or safe for this installation.
This bath conforms to ANSI Standard Z124.1. All dimensions are nominal.

1. Prepare the Site
NOTICE: Adequate floor support must be provided. Consult the roughing-in sheet packed with your bath
for specific floor loading requirements.
WARNING: Risk of product damage. Do not support the bath by the rim.
Make sure the flooring offers adequate support for your bath, and verify that the subfloor is flat and
level.
This bath should be installed in an alcove or corner installation, depending on the model chosen.
When constructing the framing, allow for the thickness of the finished wall materials.
Construct 2x4 or 2x6 stud framing according to the roughing-in information packed with the bath.
Position the plumbing according to the roughing-in information. Cap the supplies and check for
leaks.
Unless the bath is elevated for an above-floor drain installation, a hole will need to be cut to
accommodate the drain connections. Refer to the roughing-in information.
NOTE: For corner installations, cut a hole large enough to allow for the diagonal positioning of the drain.
2. Prepare the Bath
Install the drain to the bath according to the drain manufacturer’s instructions. Do not connect the
trap at this time.
Position a clean drop cloth or similar material in the bottom of the bath. Be careful not to scratch the
surface of the bath.

3. Secure the Bath to the Subfloor – Models With Support Blocks Only
CAUTION: Risk of product damage. Do not support the bath by the rim.
Choose the installation option that best applies to your particular installation.
If the subfloor is not level, shim the bath support blocks as necessary.
Secure Using Cement or Mortar Bed Option
Spread a 2″(5.1 cm) thick layer of cement or mortar on the subfloor where the bath will be placed.
This will help secure, level and support the bath.
NOTE: The support blocks must rest directly on the support floor.
Clear all the material away from the support block locations.
NOTE: Do not use gypsum cement or drywall compound for this application, as they will not provide an
acceptable, durable bond.
Position a piece of plastic drop cloth or similar material over the cement or mortar bed.
With help, carefully lift the bath into place and make sure the support blocks do not rest in the bed
material. Verify that the bath is level and resting on all support blocks.
Insert the drain tailpiece into the trap.
NOTE: An access panel will simplify future maintenance.
Secure Using Construction Adhesive Option
Apply a generous amount of high-quality construction adhesive to the bottom of the support blocks.
With help, carefully lift the bath into place and make sure it is level and resting on all support
blocks.

4. Secure the Bath to the Subfloor – Models With Bath Base Only
CAUTION: Risk of product damage. Do not support the bath by the rim.
Choose the installation option that best applies to your particular installation.
If the subfloor is not level, shim the bath support blocks as necessary.

5. Secure the Bath to the Stud Framing
Drill a small pilot hole through the nailing–in flange at each stud location. Add shims between the
nailing-in flange and the studs as needed to eliminate any gaps.
Nail 1/4″(6 mm) thick furring strips to the studs to shim out to the edge of the nailing-in flange.
Use #6 large-head galvanized nails or screws to secure the nailing-in flange to the studs.
6. Install the Plumbing
CAUTION: Risk of personal injury. Bath rim-mounted faucets that may be inadvertently used as a
means of support are not appropriate or safe for this installation.
CAUTION: Risk of property damage. Make sure a watertight seal exists on all bath drain connections.
NOTE: Provide access to all plumbing connections to simplify future maintenance.
Connect the trap to the drain according to the drain manufacturer’s instructions.
Install the faucet valving according to the faucet manufacturer’s instructions. Do not install the
faucet trim at this time.
Open the hot and cold water supplies and check all connections for leaks.
Run water into the bath and check the drain connections for leaks.
Fill the bath to the overflow and check for leaks.

7. Complete the Installation
If used, install the optional apron at this time according to the instructions (only applies to select
models) packed with the apron.
Carefully remove the protective tape from the bath rim.
Apply a bead of silicone sealant to the nailing-in flange.
Install water-resistant wall material a maximum of 1/4″(6 mm) above the bath deck.
Seal the joints between the bath rim edges and the water-resistant wall material with silicone
sealant. Tape and mud the water-resistant wall material.
Install the finished wall. Seal the joints between the bath rim and the finished wall with silicone
sealant.
Install the faucet trim according to the faucet manufacturer’s instructions.
Clean-Up
When cleaning up after installation, do not use abrasive cleaners, as they may scratch and dull the bath
surface. Use warm water and a liquid, non-abrasive detergent to clean the surface.
CAUTION: Risk of product damage. Do not allow cleaners containing petroleum distillates to remain
in contact with the surface for long periods of time.
Remove stubborn stains, paint, or tar with turpentine or paint thinner. Remove plaster by scraping with a
wood edge. Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, or other metal tools. You can use a powder-type
detergent on a damp cloth to provide mild abrasive action to any residual plaster.

Avant de commencer
Respecter tous les codes locaux de plomberie et de bâtiment.
Déballer la baignoire et l’examiner soigneusement pour en déceler tout dommage. Remettre la
baignoire dans son emballage de protection en attendant de commencer l’installation.
Cette baignoire est conçue pour une installation dans une alcôve. Modèles K-1145-F, K-1155-F et
K-1245-F sont destinés pour des installations dans un angle.
Prévoir un cadre aux dimensions appropriées.
Cette baignoire doit avoir le support nécessaire sur un sol nivelé.
L’espace du bassin ne nécessite pas de support additionnel si le sol est nivelé et d’aplomb avec le
cadre. Utiliser des cales pour un support additionnel si le sol n’est pas nivelé.
Avant l’installation, s’assurer d’avoir suffisamment d’accès pour les raccords finaux.
Vérifier le montage correct et l’espacement pour le robinet.
S’assurer du montage correct du robinet. Les larges robinets ayant été utilisés par inadvertance
comme moyen de support ne sont pas appropriés ou saufs pour cette installation.
Les dimensions de la baignoire sont nominales et conformes aux tolérances données par la norme
ANSI Z124.1.

1. Préparer le site
AVIS : Le sol doit être correctement préparé. Consulter le plan de raccordement emballé avec votre
baignoire, pour les spécifications de la préparation de votre sol.
AVERTISSEMENT : Risque d’endommagement du produit. Ne pas reposer la baignoire sur ses
rebords.
S’assurer que le podium constitue un support adéquat pour votre baignoire et que le fond soit plat
et nivelé.
Cette baignoire doit être installée dans une alcôve ou en angle, en fonction du modèle choisi.
Pendant la construction du cadre, tenir compte de l’épaisseur des matériaux du mur.
Construire le cadre avec des montants de 2x4 ou de 2x6 suivant l’information du diagramme de
raccordement
Positionner la plomberie, selon le plan du raccordement. Boucher les robinets des alimentations et
vérifier s’il y a des fuites.
A moins que la baignoire ne soit installée sur un podium, un trou sera nécessaire pour y
accommoder la connexion du drain. Consulter le plan de raccordement.
REMARQUE : Pour une installation dans un angle, percer un orifice large pour bien loger le drain en
position diagonale.
2. Préparer la baignoire
Installer le drain à la baignoire selon les instructions du fabricant qui accompagnent le produit. Ne
pas brancher le siphon à ce moment.
Placer un linge ou une matière similaire à la base de la baignoire. Travailler soigneusement pour ne
pas égratigner la surface du produit.
Positionner

3. Sécuriser la baignoire au plancher- Modèles à blocs support uniquement
ATTENTION : Risque d’endommagement du produit. Ne pas reposer la baignoire sur ses rebords.
Choisissez l’option qui mieux correspond à votre installation.
Si le fond n’est pas nivelé, placer des cales sous les blocs de renfort de la baignoire.
Sécuriser en utilisant un lit de ciment ou de mortier
Poser un lit de ciment ou mortier de 2″(5,1 cm) d’épaisseur sur le sol à l’endroit de l’installation de
la baignoire. Ceci pour aidera à fixer, niveler et supporter l’unité.
REMARQUE : Les blocs de renfort doivent s’appuyer directement sur le sol.
Retirer tout matériau, excès de ciment ou de mortier, se trouvant autour des blocs de renfort.
REMARQUE : Ne pas utiliser le plâtre de Paris ou une pâte à joint pour cette installation, car ces produits
ne fourniront pas un scellement acceptable, ni durable.
Déposer une bâche de plastique sur le lit de ciment ou de mortier.
Demander de l’aide pour soulever et installer soigneusement la baignoire en place et s’assurer que
les blocs de renfort ne reposent pas sur le matériau de la base. S’assurer que la baignoire soit nivelée
et qu’elle s’appuie sur ses pieds.
Introduire l’about du drain dans la trappe.
REMARQUE : Une ouverture d’accès facilitera un entretien futur.
Sécuriser avec un adhésif de construction
Appliquer un adhésif de construction de haute qualité à la base des blocs de renfort.
Avec de l’aide, soulever soigneusement la baignoire en s’assurant qu’elle soit nivelée et quelle
repose sur chaque bloc.
Introduire l’about du drain dans la trappe.
REMARQUE : Une ouverture d’accès facilitera un entretien futur.
