Tools and Materials
Before You Begin
Observe all local plumbing and building codes.
Turn off the water supplies.
Carefully inspect the fittings for damage before installing.
For new bath installations: Install the drain to the bath and finish
the installation according to your bath’s installation guide.
For replacement installations: Remove the wall covering from the
drain end of the bath and remove the existing drain.
The overflow ell and drain ell tubes may need to be cut for
proper fit. Dry fit or measure and cut them to the proper length.
If cutting is needed, remove any burrs from the tubes.

1. Assemble the Drain
Remove
Unthread the screw from the strainer.
Remove the strainer, strainer body, and gasket from the drain ell.
Unthread the screws on the hood.
Pull the hood out from the overflow ell to access the pin on the
plunger assembly.
Remove the pin on the plunger assembly from the overflow ell,
and remove the plunger assembly.
Set aside the pin, plunger assembly, hood, and screws.
Install
Install the coupling nuts and the gaskets onto the overflow ell
and the drain ell.
Fit the overflow ell and the drain ell into the tee.
If necessary, cut the drain ell to fit a minimum of 3/4″(19 mm)
inside the tee. Remove any burrs using emery paper.

Assemble the Drain (cont.)
Hand tighten the coupling nuts. Do not wrench tighten at this
time.
Apply thread sealant to the threaded end of the tailpiece. Thread
the tailpiece into the tee.
Insert the tailpiece approximately 1″(25 mm) to 2″(51 mm) into
the trap inlet (not shown). If necessary, cut the tailpiece to its
proper length and install the tailpiece into the trap inlet.
Tighten all drain connections.

2. Install the Overflow Ell
Position the gasket with the tapered side against the overflow ell
with the thin edge of the gasket at the top of the overflow ell.
Align the overflow ell with the overflow hole of the bath.
Fit the hold down plate over the lower mounting holes on the
overflow ell.
Wrap thread sealant tape around the threads of the two flat-blade
screws. This will prevent water seeping through the lower
mounting holes on the overflow ell.
From inside the bath, insert the two flat-blade screws through the
hold down plate and into the lower mounting holes on the
overflow ell.
Thread the screws into the overflow ell approximately three to
four turns. Do not tighten the screws completely. The overflow ell
must be loose in order to align the rest of the drain.

3. Install the Drain Ell
CAUTION: Risk of property damage. Do not reposition the
drain ell after the strainer body is tightened. Moving the
drain ell may damage the seal created when the strainer is
tightened, increasing the risk of leaking.
Apply a ring of plumbers putty or other sealant around the
underside of the strainer body. Refer to the plumbers putty or
sealant manufacturer’s instructions.
Fit the gasket between the drain ell and below the bath drain
outlet.
Thread the strainer body into the drain ell.
Using pliers handles, tighten the strainer body securely into the
drain ell.
Place the strainer into the drain ell.
Thread the screw into the strainer.
Remove any excess sealant.

4. Complete the Installation
Insert the plunger assembly into the overflow ell.
Properly secure the hold down plate to the overflow ell to
complete the hold down plate installation.
Attach the pin on the plunger assembly to the backside of the
hood.
Wrap thread sealant tape around the threads of the two Phillips
screws. This will prevent water seeping through the mounting
holes on the overflow ell.
Secure the hood to the overflow ell with the two Phillips screws.
Ensure the ″KOHLER″logo is above the lever. Do not
overtighten the screws.
Make all final plumbing and drain connections.
Push the lever on the hood down to close the drain.
Fill the bath with water and check for leaks.
Check for proper operation of the lever. If necessary, refer to the
″Plunger Assembly Adjustment″section.

Plunger Assembly Adjustment
NOTE: Adjust the plunger assembly until it is at the proper height.
Remove the hood from the overflow ell.
Remove the pin on the plunger assembly from the hood.
Remove the plunger assembly from the overflow ell.
Remove the pin from the link, then reinsert the pin at the proper
height.
Reinsert the plunger assembly into the overflow ell.
Reinstall the hood to the overflow ell.
Verify proper operation of the lever.

Care and Cleaning (cont.)
•Use a mild detergent such as liquid dishwashing soap and warm
water for cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners that may scratch
or dull the surface.
•Carefully read the cleaner product label to ensure the cleaner is
safe for use on the material.
•Always test your cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area
before applying to the entire surface.
•Do not allow cleaners to sit or soak on the surface.
•Wipe surfaces clean and rinse completely with water immediately
after cleaner application. Rinse and dry any overspray that lands
on nearby surfaces.
•Use a soft, dampened sponge or cloth. Never use an abrasive
material such as a brush or scouring pad to clean surfaces.

Warranty
ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
KOHLER plumbing products are warranted to be free of defects in
material and workmanship for one year from date of installation.
Kohler Co. will, at its election, repair, replace or make appropriate
adjustment where Kohler Co. inspection discloses any such defects
occurring in normal usage within one (1) year after installation. Kohler
Co. is not responsible for removal or installation costs. Use of in-tank
toilet cleaners will void the warranty.

Pour des installations de remplacement: Retirer le revêtement
mural de l’extrémité drain de la baignoire et retirer le drain
existant.
Les tubes du coude du trop-plein et du coude du drain devront
peut-être être coupés pour bien s’adapter. Les adapter à sec ou les
mesurer et les couper à la longueur appropriée. S’il est nécessaire
de couper, éliminer toutes les ébarbures des tubes.

1. Assembler le drain
Retirer
Désenfiler la vis de la crépine.
Retirer la crépine, le corps de la crépine, et le joint statique du
coude du drain.
Désenfiler les vis sur le couvercle.
Tirer le couvercle hors du coude du trop-plein pour accéder à la
goupille se trouvant sur l’ensemble plongeur.
Retirer la goupille se trouvant sur l’ensemble plongeur du coude
du trop-plein et retirer l’ensemble plongeur.
Mettre la goupille, l’ensemble plongeur, le couvercle et les vis de
côté.
Installer
Installer les écrous d’assemblage et les joints statiques sur le
coude du trop-plein et le coude du drain.
Adapter le coude du trop-plein et le coude du drain dans le té.

Assembler le drain (cont.)
Si nécessaire, couper le coude du drain pour adapter un
minimum de 3/4″(19 mm) à l’intérieur du té. Éliminer toutes les
ébarbures en utilisant du papier d’émeri.
Serrer les écrous d’assemblage à la main. Ne pas serrer avec une
clé à ce point.
Appliquer du mastic pour filets sur l’extrémité filetée de la pièce
de raccordement. Enfiler la pièce de raccordement dans le té.
Insérer la pièce de raccordement entre 1″(25 mm) et 2″(51 mm)
environ dans l’orifice d’entrée du siphon (non illustré). Si
nécessaire, couper la pièce de raccordement à sa longueur
adéquate et installer la pièce dans l’orifice d’entrée du siphon.
Serrer toutes les connexions du drain.

2. Installer le coude du trop-plein
Positionner le joint statique avec le côté conique contre le coude
du trop-plein et le bord fin du joint statique sur le haut du coude
du trop-plein.
Aligner le coude du trop-plein sur le trou du trop-plein de la
baignoire.
Adapter la plaque de retenue par-dessus les trous de fixation
inférieurs sur le coude du trop-plein.
Enrouler du ruban d’étanchéité pour filets autour des filets des
deux vis à lame plate. Ceci empêchera l’eau de suinter à travers
les trous de fixation inférieurs du coude du trop-plein.
À partir de l’intérieur de la baignoire, insérer les deux vis à lame
plate à travers la plaque de retenue et dans les trous de fixation
inférieurs sur le coude du trop-plein.
Enfiler les vis dans le coude du trop-plein de trois à quatre tours
environ. Ne pas serrer les vis complètement. Le coude du
trop-plein doit être desserré pour aligner le reste du drain.

3. Installer le coude du drain
ATTENTION: Risque de dommages matériels. Ne pas
repositionner le coude du drain une fois que le corps de la
crépine a été serré. Le déplacement du coude du drain
pourrait endommager le joint d’étanchéité créé lors du
serrage de la crépine, ce qui augmente le risque de fuites.
Appliquer un anneau de mastic de plombier ou un autre produit
d’étanchéité autour du dessous du corps de la crépine. Se référer
aux instructions du fabricant du mastic de plombier ou du
produit d’étanchéité.
Adapter le joint statique entre le coude du drain et sous l’orifice
de sortie du drain de la baignoire.
Enfiler le corps de la crépine dans le coude du drain.
À l’aide des poignées d’une pince, serrer le corps de la crépine en
toute sécurité dans le coude du drain.
Placer la crépine dans le coude du drain.
Enfiler la vis dans la crépine.
Retirer tout excédent de mastic.

4. Terminer l’installation
Insérer l’ensemble plongeur dans le coude du trop-plein.
Bien sécuriser la plaque de retenue sur le coude du trop-plein
pour terminer l’installation de cette plaque.
Fixer la goupille de l’ensemble plongeur sur l’arrière du
couvercle.
Enrouler du ruban d’étanchéité pour filets autour des filets des
deux vis cruciformes. Ceci empêchera l’eau de suinter à travers
les trous de fixation sur le coude du trop-plein.
Sécuriser le couvercle sur le coude du trop-plein avec les deux vis
cruciformes. S’assurer que le logo ″KOHLER″se trouve au-dessus
du levier. Ne pas trop serrer les vis.
Faire toutes les connexions finales de plomberie et du drain.
Pousser le levier du couvercle vers le bas pour fermer le drain.
Remplir la baignoire avec de l’eau et s’assurer de l’absence de
fuites.
Vérifier que le levier fonctionne correctement. Si nécessaire, se
référer à la section ″Réglage de l’ensemble plongeur″.

Réglage de l’ensemble plongeur
REMARQUE: Ajuster l’ensemble plongeur jusqu’à ce qu’il soit à la
hauteur appropriée.
Retirer le couvercle du coude du trop-plein.
Retirer la goupille de l’ensemble plongeur du couvercle.
Retirer l’ensemble plongeur du coude du trop-plein.
Retirer la goupille de la tringlerie, puis réinsérer celle-ci à la
hauteur appropriée.
Réinsérer l’ensemble plongeur dans le coude du trop-plein.
Réinstaller le couvercle sur le coude du trop-plein.
Vérifier que le levier fonctionne correctement.

Entretien et nettoyage (cont.)
•Utiliser un détergent doux comme du liquide pour vaisselle et de
l’eau chaude pour nettoyer. Ne pas utiliser de nettoyants abrasifs
qui pourraient rayer ou ternir la surface.
•Lire l’étiquette du produit de nettoyage avec le plus grand soin
pour assurer que celui-ci peut être utilisé sans danger sur le
matériau.
•Toujours tester la solution de nettoyage sur une surface non
visible avant de l’appliquer sur l’ensemble de la surface.
•Ne pas laisser les nettoyants reposer ou tremper sur la surface.
•Essuyer les surfaces et rincer complètement avec de l’eau
immédiatement après l’application du nettoyant. Rincer et sécher
tout éclaboussement sur les surfaces avoisinantes.
•Utiliser une éponge ou un chiffon doux et humide. Ne jamais
utiliser de matériau abrasif tel qu’une brosse ou une éponge à
récurer pour nettoyer les surfaces.

Antes de comenzar
Cumpla todos los códigos locales de plomería y construcción.
Cierre los suministros de agua.
Antes de hacer la instalación, verifique con cuidado que los
conectores y demás equipamiento no estén dañados.
En nuevas instalaciones de bañera: Instale el desagüe a la bañera
y termine de hacer la instalación de acuerdo a la guía de
instalación de su bañera.
En instalaciones de reemplazo: Retire el recubrimiento de la
pared del extremo del desagüe de la bañera y retire el desagüe
actual.
Es posible que el codo del rebosadero y el codo del desagüe
deban ser cortados para ajustarlos. Colóquelos preliminarmente o
mida y córtelos a la longitud adecuada. Si es necesario hacer
cortes, quite todas las rebabas de los tubos.
