Update Instruction for Mac
Turn your ZERO8 on.
Check the current ZERO8 version
appearing on the startup screen
(Figure 1).
Turn your ZERO8 off.
The ZERO8 system update requires a FireWire cable and computer with the
update downloaded. Your system must be Mac OS X 10.3.9 or higher.
At present, the updater is not compatible with OS X 10.4.10. It has been
successfully tested for use in OS x 10.4.9 and OS X 10.5

With your ZERO8 turned off, connect
the FireWire cable to your Macintosh
machine and ZERO8.
While pressing and holding the EXT1
CUE and BANK C buttons shown in
Figure 2, power on your ZERO8.
Verify that the SYSTEM UPDATE
WAIT message flashes on the LCD.
Do not proceed until the FIREWIRE
LED shown in Figure 2 lights up.

Extract the downloaded file. Double-
click on KORG ZERO8 System xxx
Updater (xxx for the version number)
in the System folder to start up the
application.
Press [Detect] to scan and find
your ZERO8. When your ZERO8 is
detected correctly, the screen shown
in Figure 3 appears.
Click on [Update] in the main window
to start the update.
You should now see a "Writing...
(??%)" message indicating the
ZERO8 is being updated. The pro-
cess lasts approximately 5 minutes.
The LCD will stop flashing now and
remain lit.
Power your ZERO8 off and discon-
nect the FireWire cable.
Turn your ZERO8 on and verify the
version as displayed on the startup
screen.
Note:
During this process, a dialog
box stating, "Sorry, Please
Retry" may appear. If this
happens, click [OK] to close
the dialog box, and then press
[Update] again to restart the
update.
