Determining if YouHaveaConfined orUnconfined Space
Usethisworksheettodetermine if youhave aconfinedorunconfinedspace.
Space: Includesthe roominwhichyouwillinstallheaterplus anyadjoiningroomswithdoorlesspassageways
or ventilationgrillsbetweenthe rooms.
1. Determinethe volumeofthespace(length×width×height).
Length×Width×Height= cu.ft.(volumeofspace)
Example: Spacesize 20ft.(length)×16ft.(width)×8ft. (ceilingheight)=2560cu.ft. (volumeofspace)
Ifadditionalventilationtoadjoining roomissupplied withgrillsor openings,addthevolumeofthese
roomstothe totalvolumeofthe space.
2.Dividethespacevolumeby50 cubicfeettodeterminethemaximumBtu/Hrthespacecansupport.
