Thank you for purchasing a KRU S kettle. Read the instructions that apply to most of our models carefully and keep
them at hand.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be
followed:
1. Read all instructions. When reading, please refer to the page of illustrations to
relate the pictures and text. The appliance should be used strictly in
accordance with these instructions.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. High temperatures are generated during use which
could cause burns. Always lift the kettle by handle.
3. To prevent fire, electric shock and injury, do not immerse cord, plugs, base or
kettle in water or other liquids.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

Warn other users, especially children, of the possible dangers (eg. escaping
steam, hot water, hot lid, etc).
5. Do not leave appliance unattended while in use. Unplug from outlet when not
in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts,
and before cleaning the appliance.
6. Do not operate any appliance which has been damaged in any way or has a
defective cord or plug. Return it to the nearest authorized service center for
examination, repair or adjustment.
7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance
manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury.
8. Do not use outdoors.
9. Do not let cord hang over the edge of the table or counter, or touch hot
surfaces.
10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
11. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
12. To disconnect, turn any control to “off”, then remove the plug from the wall
outlet.
13. Do not place the base of your kettle in a metal tray. If water spills over into
the tray, and a build-up occurs, it could become dangerous to touch.

power cord. Water can remain hot for a considerable time after boiling and
can present a scald hazard.
15. Before pouring, wait until the kettle has stopped boiling and then pour
steadily. If the kettle is tipped too much, the lid may fall off or open.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
A. A short power cord or a detachable power cord is provided to reduce the risks of
becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord accidentally.
B. Longer detachable power cords or extension cords are available and may be
used if care is exercised in their use.
C. If a long detachable power cord or an extension cord is used:
1) the marked electrical rating of the detachable power cord or extension cord
should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
2) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a
grounding type 3-wire cord.
3) the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter
where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over accidentally.
The appliance may have a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To
reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet
only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it
still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug
in anyway.

1Remove all of the various packaging, stickers or accessories from both the inside and outside of the kettle.
2Adjust the length of the cord by winding it under the base. Wedge the cord into the notch. (fig 1)
1 TO OPEN THE LID, ACCORDING TO THE MODEL
- Hinged lid: press if necessary on the locking system and pull backwards. (fig 2)
- Assisted opening lid: press on the locking system and the lid lifts automatically (fig 3)
- Automatic opening lid: press the button at the top of the handle. (fig 4)
- Lockable lid: turn the lid to the left to unlock it and lift it. (fig 5)
To close the lid, press it down firmly or turn it to the right in the case of the lockable lid.
2 PLACE THE BASE ON A FLAT, STABLE, HEAT-RESISTANT SURFACE AWAY FROM WATER
SPLASHES AND ANY SOURCES OF HEAT.

3 FILL THE KETTLE WITH THE DESIRED AMOUNT OF WATER. (FIG 6)

element (or t e bottom of t e kettle) wit water.
•Never fill t e kettle w en it is on its base.
•Do not fill it above t e maximum level, or below t e minimum level. If t e kettle is too full, boiling water may spill
out.
•Do not use wit out water.
•C eck t at t e lid is closed properly before use.
4 POSITION THE KETTLE ON ITS BASE. PLUG IT INTO THE MAIN SOCKET.
5 TO START THE KETTLE

7 THE KETTLE WILL SWITCH OFF AUTOMATICALLY
as soon as the water reaches boiling point or the chosen temperature. You can stop it manually, before removing it
from its base to pour the water. Depending on the model, the interior light and the indicator light will go out when
the water reaches boiling point. Make sure that the on/off button is in the off position after boiling and that the
kettle has switched off before removing it from its base.
Throw away the water from the first two/three uses as it may contain dust. Rinse the kettle and the filter separately.
Do not leave water in t e kettle after use as t is quickens t e formation of scale.

CLEANING YOUR KETTLE
Unplug the kettle before cleaning.
Let it cool down and clean it with a damp sponge.
Never immerse t e kettle, its base, t e cord or t e electric plug in water: t e electrical connections or t e switc
must not come into contact wit water.
•Do not use scouring pads.
CLEANING THE FILTER (ACCORDING TO THE MODEL) (FIG 8)
The removable filter consists of a mesh to retain the particles of scale and prevent them falling into your cup when
pouring. This filter neither treats nor removes the hardness of the water. It thus conserves all the qualities of the
water. With very hard water, the filter can clog very quickly (10 to 15 uses). It is important to clean it regularly. If it
is wet, put it under a running tap, if dry, then brush it gently. Sometimes the scale will not detach itself; it will then
need descaling.
•To remove t e anti-scale filter, lift t e kettle off its base and allow to cool. Never remove t e filter w en t e
appliance is full of ot water or w ile it's on.
De-scale regularly, preferably at least once a month or more frequently if your water is very hard.
To de-scale your kettle:
• using white vinegar:
- fill the kettle with 1/2 l of vinegar,
- leave to stand for 1 hour without heating.
• using citric acid:
- boil 1/2 l of water,
- add 25 g of citric acid and leave to stand for 15 min.
• using a de-scaler specifically for plastic kettles: follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
•Empty your kettle and rinse 5 or 6 times. Repeat if necessary.
To de-scale your filter (according to model):
Soak the filter in white vinegar or diluted citric acid.
Never use a de-scaling met od ot er t an t at recommended.
• The kettle does not work or stops before coming to the boil
- Check that your kettle is properly connected.
- The kettle has been switched on without water or an accumulation of scale has caused the overheat cut-out to
operate: allow the kettle to cool and fill it with water. Descale first if scale has accumulated.

Switch it on: the kettle should start working again after about 15 minutes.
• The water tastes of plastic:
Generally, this happens when the kettle is new. Discard the water from the first few boilings. If the problem persists,
fill the kettle to maximum and add two teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda. Bring to the boil and discard the water.
Rinse out the kettle.
IF YOUR KETTLE HAS BEEN DRO ED, IF IT LEAKS OR IF THERE IS VISIBLE DAMAGE TO THE OWER CORD, THE
LUG OR THE BASE OF THE KETTLE
Return your kettle to your KRU S After-Sales Service Centre, only they are authorised to carry out repairs. See the
guarantee conditions and list of centres in the booklet supplied with your kettle. The type and serial number are
shown on the bottom of your kettle. This guarantee covers manufacturing defects and domestic use only. Any
breakage or damage resulting from failure to comply with the instructions for use is not covered by the guarantee.

Do not use t e kettle. No attempt must be made to dismantle t e kettle or its safety devices.
If t e supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by t e manufacturer, its after-sales service centre or a similarly

For a child, a burn or scald, even if slight, can sometimes be serious.
As they grow up, teach your children to beware of hot liquids to be found in the kitchen. osition the kettle and its
supply cord well to the rear of the work surface, out of the reach of children.
If an accident does occur, run cold water over the scald immediately and call a doctor if necessary.
In order to avoid any accident: do not carry your c ild or baby at t e same time as drinking or carrying a ot drink.
Your appliance contains many recoverable or recyclable materials.
Take it to a local, civic waste collection point.

CONSEJOS DE SEGURIDAD
En el momento de utilizar aparatos eléctricos se deben tomar precauciones:
1. Leer el modo de empleo remitiéndose a las ilustraciones para asociar las

2. No tocar superficies calientes. Cuando el hervidor funciona, se alcanza
temperaturas altas que podrían ocasionar quemaduras. Utilizar el asa.

desplazarse o abrirse.
16. ADVERTENCIA: un hervidor sin cable nunca debe llenarse cuando está sobre
su base.
17. Un aparato eléctrico no debe utilizarse si se ha caído. En este caso, contactar
con un centro de servicio KRU S autorizado.
18. No abrir nunca la tapa del hervidor cuando el agua esté hirviendo.
19. Este aparato KRU S sólo está destinado a un uso doméstico.
20. Sólo utilizar el aparato para hervir agua.

EL CABLE DE ALIMENTACIÓN
SÓLO ARA USO DOMÉSTICO
A. Con el aparato se suministra un cable de alimentación corto para reducir el
riesgo de que alguien tropiece o se enrede accidentalmente en los pies.
B. Están disponibles cables de alimentación más largos o extensiones eléctricas y
pueden utilizarse teniendo precaución.
C. Si se utiliza una extensión:
1) las características eléctricas del cable o de la extensión deben ser al menos
iguales a las del aparato.
2) si el aparato es del tipo puesta a tierra, la extensión debe ser de tipo puesta
a tierra y comprender 3 enchufes y
3) el cable de alimentación o la extensión deben estar puestos de forma que
no cuelguen de borde del plano de trabajo de la mesa para que los niños no
puedan jalarlo o tropezar accidentalmente.

1Retire todos los embalajes, adhesivos o accesorios dentro y de fuera del aparato.
2Ajuste la longitud del cable enrollándolo debajo de la base. Inserte el cable en la muesca. (fig 1)
ANTES DE LA PRIMERA UTILIZACIÓN
1 PARA ABRIR LA TAPA, SEGÚN EL MODELO:
- Tapa articulada: presione si fuera necesario el sistema de bloqueo y tire de la parte delantera hacia la posterior.

- Tapa de apertura: presione el sistema de bloqueo y la tapa se levanta automáticamente (fig 3)
- Tapa de apertura automática: presione el botón en la parte superior del asa. (fig 4)
- Tapa de bloqueo: gire la tapa hacia la izquierda para desbloquearla y retirarla. (fig 5)

2 COLO UE LA BASE SOBRE UNA SUPERFICIE LISA, LIMPIA Y FRÍA.
El ervidor sólo debe utilizarse con la base que trae consigo y su propio filtro anti-cal.
3 LLENE EL HERVIDOR CON LA CANTIDAD DE AGUA DESEADA. (FIG 6)
Puede llenarlo por la jarra, lo que asegura un mejor mantenimiento del filtro. Como mínimo, cubra la resistencia
con agua (o el fondo del ervidor).
Nunca llene el ervidor cuando esté en la base.
No lo llene por encima del nivel máximo, ni por debajo del nivel mínimo. Si el ervidor está demasiado lleno, el
agua irviendo puede desbordarse.
No lo utilice sin agua.
Compruebe que la tapa esté bien cerrada antes de su uso.
4 COLO UE EL HERVIDOR EN SU BASE. CONÉCTELO A LA RED DE ALIMENTACIÓN.
5 PARA PONER EL HERVIDOR EN MARCHA

6 EL HERVIDOR PUEDE ILUMINARSE SEGÚN EL MODELO

en cuanto el agua llegue a ebullición o a la temperatura seleccionada. uede detenerlo manualmente antes de
retirarlo de su base para servir. Según el modelo, la luz interior y el indicador luminoso se apagará al mismo tiempo
que el agua alcanza la ebullición. Asegúrese de que el botón on/off esté en la posición off después de la ebullición y
que el hervidor este apagado antes de retirarlo de su base.
Tire el agua de las dos/tres primeras utilizaciones puesto que podría contener polvo. Enjuague el hervidor y el filtro
por separado.
No deje el agua en el ervidor después de su utilización.

PARA LIMPIAR EL HERVIDOR
Desconéctelo.
Déjelo enfriar y límpielo con una esponja húmeda.
Nunca sumerja el ervidor, su base, el cable o la clavija en agua: las conexiones eléctricas o el interruptor no
deben estar en contacto con el agua.
No utilice trapos abrasivos.
PARA LIMPIAR EL FILTRO (SEGÚN MODELO) (FIG 8)
El filtro extraíble está formado por una tela que retiene las partículas de sales minerales e impide que caigan en la
taza durante el vertido. Este filtro no trata y no elimina las sales minerales del agua. reserva todas las cualidades
del agua. Con agua muy calcárea, el filtro se satura rápidamente (de 10 a 15 utilizaciones). Es importante limpiarlo
regularmente. Si está húmedo, pasarlo por el agua, si está seco, cepillarlo suavemente. Algunas veces, las sales no se
desprende: realizar una descalcificación.
Descalcifique regularmente, preferentemente al menos 1 vez/mes, más a menudo si el agua es muy calcárea.
Para descalcificar el hervidor:
• utilice vinagre blanco de 8° del comercio:
- llene el hervidor con 1/2 l de vinagre,
- deje actuar 1 hora en frío.
• ácido cítrico:
- deje hervir 1/2 l de agua,
- añada 25 g de ácido cítrico, deje actuar 15 min
• un descalcificador específico para los hervidores de plástico: siga las instrucciones del fabricante.
Vacíe el ervidor y enjuaguelo 5 o 6 veces. Repita la operación si fuera necesario.
Para descalcificar el filtro (según modelo):
onga en remojo el filtro en vinagre blanco o ácido cítrico diluido.
Sólo utilice el método de descalcificación recomendado.
EL HERVIDOR NO PRESENTA NINGÚN DAÑO VISIBLE
• El hervidor no funciona, o apaga antes de la ebullición
- Compruebe que el hervidor está bien conectado.
- El hervidor ha funcionado sin agua, o se ha acumulado sales minerales, provocando que se active el sistema de
seguridad contra el funcionamiento en seco: deje enfriar el hervidor, llénelo de agua.

óngalo a funcionar con el interruptor: el hervidor empezará a funcionar de nuevo después de aproximadamente 15
minutos.
• El agua sabe a plástico:
Generalmente, esto se produce cuando el hervidor es nuevo, tire el agua de los primeros usos. Si el problema
persiste, llene el hervidor al máximo, añada dos cucharaditas de bicarbonato sódico. óngalo a hervir y tire el agua.
Enjuague el hervidor.
SI EL HERVIDOR SE HA CAÍDO O EXISTEN FUGAS, SI EL CABLE, EL ENCHUFE O LA BASE DEL HERVIDOR ESTÁN
DAÑADOS DE MANERA VISIBLE
Devuelva el hervidor al Servicio Técnico ostventa Autorizado KRU S, son los únicos capacitados para realizar una
reparación. Ver condiciones de garantía y la lista de los centros en el folleto suministrado con el hervidor. El tipo y el
número de serie están indicados en la base de su modelo. Esta garantía cubre únicamente los defectos de uso
doméstico. Cualquier rotura o deterioro que se produjera por no cumplir las instrucciones de utilización no se incluirá
en el marco de la garantía.
KRUPS se reserva el derec o de modificar en cualquier momento, en interés del consumidor, las características o
componentes de sus ervidores.
No utilice el ervidor. No debe intentar desmontar el aparato o los dispositivos de seguridad.
Si el cordón de alimentación es dañado, éste debe sustituirse por el fabricante, por su agente de servicio autorizado
o por personal calificado con el fin de evitar un peligro.

legalmente por G.S.E.B Mexicana S.A. de C.V. es indispensable presentar el producto junto con el
certificado de garantía, debidamente sellada y llenada por la tienda.
2. G.S.E.B. Mexicana S.A. de C.V. garantiza por UN AÑO este producto en todas sus partes contra
cualquier defecto de fabricación y funcionamiento, a partir de la fecha de entrega, incluyendo la
reparación o reposición del producto sin cargo, así como las piezas y mano de obra necesaria, para su
diagnostico y reparación.
3. Si su aparato llegase a necesitar de nuestro servicio de garantía, le rogamos llamar a nuestros teléfonos
de atención a clientes, donde le orientarán, informarán y podrá recibir este servicio. Además podrá
adquirir partes, componentes, consumibles y accesorios, que usted necesite.
O bien puede enviarlo a nuestro Centro de Servicio, siguiendo las siguientes instrucciones.
a) Empaquételo con cuidado y proteja su aparato con cualquier relleno. Asegúrelo con cinta
canela o cordel. La garantía no ampara daños ocasionados en tránsito.
b) Escriba en la parte exterior del paquete, la dirección exacta de la central de servicio. No olvide
anotar su nombre y dirección completa a la cuál regresará el producto.
c) Cuando envíe un aparato a reparación,no incluya partes sueltas o accesorios.
La empresa se hace responsable de los gastos de transportación razonablemente erogados
que se deriven del cumplimiento de la presente garantía, dentro de nuestra red de servicio.
4. El tiempo de atención de la garantía, en ningún caso será mayor de 30 días, contados a partir de la
fecha de recepción en cualquiera de los productos.
5. La garantía perderá validez en los siguientes casos:
a) Cuando el producto se hubiese utilizado en condiciones distintas a las normales.
b) Cuando el producto no hubiese sido operado de acuerdo con el instructivo de uso que se le
acompaña.
c) Cuando el producto hubiese sido alterado o reparado por personas no autorizadas por el
fabricante nacional, importador o comercializador responsable respectivo.

et les garder à portée de la main.
Lors de l’utilisation d’appareils électriques, des précautions de sécurité de base
doivent être respectées :
1. Lire le mode d'emploi au complet en se référant aux illustrations pour faire
correspondre les images et le texte. Utiliser cet appareil conformément au
mode d'emploi uniquement.
2. Ne pas toucher les surfaces chaudes. Des températures élevées générées
durant l’utilisation peuvent causer des brûlures. Soulever toujours la bouilloire
par la poignée.
3. our éviter les incendies, les chocs électriques et les blessures, ne jamais
immerger le cordon d'alimentation, la prise, le socle ou la bouilloire dans l'eau
ou tout autre liquide.
4. Une surveillance étroite est nécessaire lorsque l'appareil est utilisé par ou près
des enfants. Garder et utiliser la bouilloire et son bac d’alimentation hors de
la portée des enfants.

8. Ne pas utiliser à l'extérieur.
9. Ne pas laisser le cordon pendre d'une table ou d’un comptoir, ni entrer en
contact avec des surfaces chaudes.
10. Ne pas placer sur ou près d’un brûleur à gaz, d’une plaque électrique ou dans
un four chaud.
11. Ne pas utiliser l'appareil pour un autre usage que celui pour lequel il est prévu.
12. our débrancher, mettre le bouton en position « Off » avant de retirer la prise.
13. Ne pas placer le socle de votre bouilloire dans un récipient métallique. Si une
accumulation d'eau se produit suite à un débordement, le contact avec le
récipient pourrait être dangereux.

14. Mettre la bouilloire vers l'arrière de la surface de travail pour éviter que le
cordon ne pende. L'eau reste chaude longtemps après l'ébullition et pourrait
présenter un risque de brûlures.
15. Attendre que la bouilloire soit arrêtée avant de verser l'eau et verser alors de
façon continue. Si la bouilloire est trop inclinée, le couvercle pourrait se
déplacer ou s'ouvrir.
16. AVERTISSEMENT: une bouilloire sans fil ne doit jamais être remplie lorsqu'elle
est sur son socle.
17. Un appareil électrique ne doit pas être utilisé s'il a été échappé. Dans ce cas,
contacter votre centre de service KRU S autorisé.
18. Ne jamais soulever le couvercle de la bouilloire pendant que l’eau bout.
19. Votre appareil Krups est destiné à un USAGE DOMESTIQUE SEULEMENT.
20. Utiliser l’appareil seulement pour l’usage auquel il est destiné.

OUR LE CORDON COURT
A. Un cordon d'alimentation court ou amovible court est fourni avec l'appareil
afin de réduire le risque qu’il ne s’emmêle ou qu’il ne fasse trébucher
quelqu’un.
B. Des cordons d'alimentation plus longs ou des rallonges électriques sont
disponibles et peuvent être utilisés en prenant des précautions.
C. Si un cordon amovible plus long ou une rallonge est utilisé :
1) le calibre de la rallonge doit être au minimum le même que celui de
l'appareil,
2) si l'appareil est mis à la terre, la rallonge doit être mise à la terre et
comporter 3 fiches, et
3) le cordon d'alimentation ou la rallonge doit être disposé de telle façon qu'il
ne pende pas du bord du plan de travail ou de la table afin que les enfants
ne puissent tirer dessus ou qu’il ne fasse trébucher quelqu’un.
