1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS :
tThis unit emits a laser beam, which, projects a visible Red
spot on the target. Do not stare into laser beam or near
your eyes or the eyes of others.
tUse of controls or performance of procedures other than
those specified herein, failure to follow warning may result
in bodily injury.
2. WARNINGS :
tThe power of the emission of the Laser beam is less than
1mW in Class 2. (less than 5mW in Class IIIa for U.S.
market)
tDO NOT remove the label from the unit.
3. CARE AND HANDLING :
tThe unit is a precision instrument which must be handled
with care.
tAvoid dust and water, use a soft cloth to clean the unit.
tAvoid shock, vibrations and extreme heat.
tKeep the unit clean and dry.
tCheck battery regularly to avoid deterioration.
tSlide the "main switch" to "OFF/LIGHT" position when not
in use.
tRemove battery if to be stored for long time.

6. OPERATING ENVIRONMENT :
Operating temperature : 32ºF to 102.2ºF (0ºC to 36ºC) within still
air and hard smooth target surface for
accurate measurement.
7. NOTES :
tWhen measuring between 40' to 50' / 12m to 15m, the relative
humidity should be above 50% and target area at least
10ft. ´10ft. (3m ´3m)
tInaccurate measurement may result from the following :
1) When the battery runs out.
2) When the measured distance is out of the specified range
(1'8" to 50' / 0.5 to 15m).
3) Interference of another ultrasonic source when nearby.
4) When the unit is not held straight and perpendicularly to the
target.
5) Long narrow corridor.
6) Irregular objects near the target.
7) The reflected ultrasonic pulse from the target is narrow.
tAn error message "Err" will be displayed on screen under
following conditions :
1) When the measured distance or calculation result exceeded
the specified range.
2) When the unit is held wide angle to the target.
3) The target surface does not provide good reflection for
ultrasonic pulse. (i.e. soft and irregular surface such as thick
carpet, curtain or irregular wall paper, walls etc.)
tThis product would lose temporal memory and reset
automatically under a strong electro-static environment.

10. BEFORE OPERATING :
Slide off the battery compartment door, replace fresh 9V alkaline
type battery onto the battery connector, then slide back the
battery compartment door.
Low Battery Warning :
t" " icon continuously displayed on LCD.
1. For best accurate result choose a target that is flat, hard and
regular large surface.
2. Place a sufficient size of card board in front of the target if the
measured target is small.
3. The unit cannot measure through the glass even though the
laser beam can pass through.
CAUTION :
Do not stare into Laser beam or near a reflective surface, as the
laser beam could be projected into your eyes or the eyes of
others.

to get measured distance displayed while the unit is moving.

Point to the target with the unit perpendicular to the wall and
get measure distance by pressing .

WARRANTY
Each “KUSAM-MECO” product is warranted to be free from
defects in material and workmanship under normal use & service.
The warranty period is one year (12 months) and begins from the
date of despatch of goods. In case any defect occurs in functioning
of the instrument, under proper use, within the warranty period, the
same will be rectified by us free of charges, provided the to and fro
freight charges are borne by you.
This warranty extends only to the original buyer or end-user
customer of a “KUSAM-MECO” authorized dealer.
This warranty does not apply for damaged Ic’s, fuses, burnt PCB's,
disposable batteries, carrying case, test leads, or to any product
which in “KUSAM-MECO’s” opinion, has been misused, altered,
neglected, contaminated or damaged by accident or abnormal
conditions of operation or handling.
“KUSAM-MECO” authorized dealer shall extend this warranty on
new and unused products to end-user customers only but have no
authority to extend a greater or different warranty on behalf of
“KUSAM-MECO”.
“KUSAM-MECO’s” warranty obligation is limited, at option, free of
charge repair, or replacement of a defective product which is
returned to a “KUSAM-MECO” authorized service center within the
warranty period.
THIS WARRANTY IS BUYER’S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE
REMEDY AND IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES,
EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. “KUSAM-MECO”
SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INDIRECT,
INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES,
INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM ANY CAUSE
WHATSOEVER.
