"SD Card."

USIM Card Installation
USIM Card IC chip contains customer and authentication
information, including handset number.
USIM Card Cover/Tray Tool
Always use the included USIM Card Cover/Tray Tool when
inserting/removing USIM Card. Not doing so may damage
handset or USIM Card.

Inserting USIM Card
Insert USIM Card Cover/Tray Tool in pocket at side of USIM
Card Slot and pry Cover open
Set USIM Card Cover/Tray Tool inside the edge of Tray, then
lever out Tray in direction of
Set USIM Card in Tray
・Set with gold IC chip up and notch located as shown.
With Tray in its original position, insert straight in
・Use USIM Card Cover/Tray Tool to push Tray in all the way
Close Cover

Internal Storage & SD Card
Handset accepts a microSDHC/microSD Card up to 32 GB. Some
SD Cards may not operate properly.
Internal storage is available for saving data such as captured
still images and videos.
Storage
Handset contains main memory and internal storage. Main
memory, internal storage and SD Cards function as follows.

SD Card
Use for transferring files. Save image,
music, and other files to SD Card for use
on handset.
Inserting SD Card
Use the included Micro USB Adapter and microSD Card Reader/
Writer.
・Connect microSD Card Reader/Writer in handset after
inserting SD Card in it.
・Only included microSD Card Reader/Writer can be connected
to Micro USB Adapter. Malfunction due to connecting with
another device is not covered by warranty.
Remove cap from microSD Card Reader/Writer ( ) and
insert SD Card in slot ( )
・Gently insert straight in all the way with contacts down.
Insert microSD Card Reader/Writer in USB port of Micro USB
Adapter
・Be careful of their orientations and insert straight in.
Insert Micro USB plug of Micro USB Adapter in External Device
Port on handset
・Hold Micro USB plug by connector and insert straight in
being careful of its orientation.

Removing SD Card
Always perform Unmount SD Card first.
Remove Micro USB Adapter from handset
Remove microSD Card Reader/Writer from Micro USB Adapter
Remove SD Card from microSD Card Reader/Writer ( ), and
attach cap ( )
・Remove SD Card by ridge.
Formatting Internal Storage
In Home Screen, (Simple) (Apps)

Handset erases all data in internal storage.

Formatting/Initializing SD Card
If USB storage error appears when an SD Card is
inserted, the SD Card needs to be formatted. Tap USB
storage error Format to format the SD Card before
use.
To initialize an SD Card, in Home Screen, Tap
(Simple) (Apps) (Settings) Storage
Erase USB storage Erase USB storage Erase
everything
・Formatting/initializing erases all data on an SD Card.
First check an SD Card used on another device before
formatting/initializing.
・Format/initialize with Battery fully charged.
Important SD Card Usage Notes
Back Up Your Files
SoftBank Mobile Corp. is not liable for any damages
resulting from accidental loss/alteration of information.
Keep a copy of contacts, etc. in a separate place.
Never power off while files are being accessed. Also do not
remove microSD Card Reader/Writer or Micro USB Adapter.
Low Battery Warning
SD Card may not read/write files correctly if Battery is
low.
microSD Card Reader/Writer Usage
Insert only supported (commercially available) SD Card.
Charging Battery
AC Charger
Connect AC Charger
・Grasp Micro USB plug and insert as shown.
Plug in AC Charger
Lamp lights once charging starts. Lamp remains lit until
charging finishes.
Disconnect AC Charger after charging
・Unplug from outlet and disconnect handset.

USB Charging
Battery can be charged by Micro USB Cable (sold separately).
・Power on PC first.
・Battery may not charge or charge slowly depending on PC
status/environment.
Connect Micro USB Cable
・Grasp Micro USB plug and insert as shown.
Connect Micro USB Cable to PC USB port
Disconnect Micro USB Cable from handset
Water & Dust Resistance
Handset has a waterproof rating equivalent to IPX5 and IPX7
and a dustproof rating equivalent to IP5X (with USIM Card
Slot Cover secured) (by Kyocera testing).
Draining Water
Using a wet handset allows water to collect in Mic, Speaker,
or External Device Port. This may affect call quality, wet your
clothing, bag, etc., or allow water into handset. Follow steps
below to drain water.
Wipe handset with a lint-free clean, dry cloth
Shake handset as shown until there is no more wetting
・Confirm it is safe around you to shake handset.
・Hold firmly to prevent handset from flying out of your
hand.
Press a lint-free clean, dry cloth into gaps (Mic, Speaker,
External Device Port, etc.) to remove any water

After removing as much water as possible, leave handset at
room temperature for at least 1 hour
After draining water
Some water may still remain in handset. Do not leave
handset beside/in items that you do not want to get wet
(clothing, bag, etc.).
Power On/Off

Cancel Screen Lock window appears.
・Initial setup menu opens before Home Screen appears after
powering on for the first time.
Power Off

Handset shuts down.

pages, etc.
Tap
Tap item or key to open or execute corresponding function/
operation.
Touch & Hold
Touch item for 1+ seconds to move icons, open menus, etc.
Drag
Drag item (e.g., Touchscreen unlock slider) to move it.
Swipe/Flick
Swipe/Flick to toggle sheets, pages, etc.
Pinch/Spread
Pinch/Spread to zoom in or out on images, etc.

Basic Operations
Home Screen, Simple Menu, & Apps Menu
Home Screen top sheet appears at power on. Most handset
operations start from Home Screen sheets or Simple menu
(mainly-used applications) and Apps menu pages.
Handset Navigation
Tap menu items, icons, onscreen key, etc. to open assigned
items.
・Press to go back or escape.
Action Bar
Current application/settings window title appears on Action
Bar (Display top). Tap onscreen key or icons at right of Action
Bar to turn function off/on or access available functions.
・Icons for available functions may also appear at the bottom
of Display.
・Touch and Hold icon for function name.
Menu Operations
Tap in Action Bar, etc. for settings and options of
available functions currently in Display. Touching & Holding
Display may also access settings and options that are
available.
Handset Settings
In Home Screen, Tap (Simple), (Apps), then
(Settings) to customize functions.
Handset & Display Orientation
In most cases, Display orientation changes with handset
orientation.
・Some application content may not change with handset
orientation.

Capturing Screens
Long Press and (Volume Down Key) at the same
time.
・View captured screenshots in (File Gallery), etc.
・Screenshot capture may not work depending on the
application or function.

Mobile Manners
Silent Mode
Cancel most handset sounds to avoid disturbing others around
you.
・Camera shutter, video recording tones, media playback,
alarms, etc. sound even in Silent mode.
(Long Press)
(Mute)/ (Vibrate)
Silent mode is set.
・Set to (Mute) to also cancel notification by vibration.
・Long Press and Tap to cancel.
・Alternatively, Long Press (Volume Down Key) to
activate/cancel Silent mode.
Airplane Mode
Disable all functions that emit radio waves while handset
power is on.
(Long Press)
Airplane mode
Airplane mode is set.
・Long Press again to cancel.
