For your safety
Your safety is very important, so read the following safety advices carefully. More safety tips are listed
further in the manual:
1. The LACROS Electric bicycle is equipped with an electric motor. It is very important that you familiarize
yourself with the bicycle as soon as possible. We advise you to choose the first "practice rides" for easy
roads with little traffic and a smooth road surface.
2. When you want to ride, do not stand on the pedal, but first sit on the saddle and then start pedaling.
3. Ride the first rides preferably without electrical support to get familiar with your bike. After this you can
start with a low setting (electrical assistance).
4. The LACROS bicycles have been tested by our employees. If you have any doubts about the bicycle and/or
the electrical installation of the bicycle, we request that you contact us immediately.
5. Never expose the battery and the charger directly in the sun or heat surfaces. The battery is protected
against heat, but heating is better avoided.
6. Never use any other charger than the one provided by Shinga BV. It is very important for your safety to
always use the original charger.
7. The brakes are equipped with an "ABS" protection. As a result, the electrical assistance stops when you use
the brakes.
8. We recommend wearing a helmet while cycling.
The LACROS bicycles are delivered in accordance with the most recent European guidelines (page 2), if you
have any questions or comments, do not hesitate to contact us.

Quality standard
Your product is an electric folding bicycle. The bike is foldable at 2 locations, on the stem and halfway
through the frame. The bike is equipped with pedal assistance which is powered by an external battery.
The battery can be located in different locations, such as on the luggage carrier or in the frame. The
battery is charged by means of an external charger. This external charger is seen as a separate product and
is already provided with a CE marking (based on the Low Voltage Directive and the EMC Directive).
The input voltage of the battery is 36V/250W or 48V/500W, the motor power is 250W or 500W (S4) and the
maximum speed of the vehicle is 25 km/h.
Guidelines:
Based on the above product description, the following guidelines apply:
•EMC-directive: 2014/30/EU
•Machine-directive: 2006/42/EG
The Low Voltage Directive does not apply because the input voltage is only 36V. The charger of the battery
is separately marked with a CE mark.
A number of (harmonised) standards from the above guidelines apply.
The following 2 standards are relevant in this context and should also be used as input for all other
documentation:
•NEN-EN 15194:2015 Cycles (Electrically power assisted cycles - EPAC Bicycles)
•NEN-EN-ISO 4210-1:2014 and
•EN ISO 12100:2010

How to operate the bicycle
Switch on battery and read battery status
With the Lacros Mustang bicycle, the battery is located behind
the saddle. Switch on the electrical system by turning the key
(1) to the right. (Note, you have only activated the battery, the
display is still off). The number of lights on top of the battery
indicates the battery charge. This is a rough indication of the
battery charge. To turn off the battery, turn the key to the
left.
1 = Lock + On/Off switch
BS200-Display
Turning on the display
Press the “M” button (1) on the left of the display
to switch on the bicycle's electrical circuit. Note
that the battery is already on. A menu now
appears on the display, the electrical circuit is
switched on.
1 = On/off button display
2 = Increase support + Lights
3 = Decrease support
Switching bicycle lights on/off
You switch on the bicycle lights by pressing the red button
on the handlebars.
Horn
You activate the horn by pressing the green button on the
steering wheel.
Switching between the 9 levels of assistance
The electric assistance has 9 levels. These are shown at
the bottom left of the display. These 9 levels can be
adjusted by briefly pressing the ''+'' (2) and ''–'' (3)
button.

7
Other options of the display
Briefly pressing the ‘’M’’ key successively scrolls through
various data at the bottom of the display:
(J) = Total milage (ODO)
(K) = Tripmode (TRIP)
(L) = Cycled time (TIME)
(M) = Maximum speed (MAX)
Note: Trip, Time and Maximum Speed are reset by holding the
''–'' button. The Trip, Time and Maximum Speed are now reset.
Thumb lever
By pushing the thumb lever (A) down when
stationary, you activate the walk mode which
provides support up to 6 km per hour. Note: The
walk mode via the thumb lever does not work when
the bicycle is in electrical support level “0”. By using
the thumb lever while cycling, the electric
assistance goes directly to its maximum speed (25
km/h).
USB-port display
Below the display on the driver's side you will find a USB port
(A) where you can charge, for example, your phone or
navigation while cycling. Charging only works when you press
and hold the “M” key and the “+” key for 2 seconds. This is
how you activate the USB port.

The Shifter (1)
The derailleur shifting mechanism is located on the right
side of the handlebar. It features a “+” (A) and “–” (B)
thumb/finger controls. Pressing (B) shifts up, pressing (A)
shifts down. At (C) you can read the current gear.
Note: Keep pedaling while shifting. However, do not apply
excessive force to the pedals when shifting.
The Shifter (2)
The derailleur shifting mechanism is mounted on the
handlebar, and it features “–” (B) and “+” (C) thumb
controls. The “– “ (B, down) or “+” (C, up) can be
used to shift between gears.
How the electric support works
The bicycle works on PAS (pedal support) by means of a magnet rotation sensor. This means that the
electric assist starts the moment the pedals rotate. In addition, there is a thumb lever on the left side of the
handlebars to quickly and easily switch on the maximum support (which is separate from the levels of
support 1 to 9). As long as the thumb lever remains forward (while pedaling), the motor will provide
maximum assistance, similar to assistance level 9 on the display.
Support is interrupted when:
-You stop pedaling.
-You use the brakes.
-You release the thumb lever.

How to charge the battery
The battery has one charging point (1) on the right side of
the battery. It is recommended to connect the charger to
the battery first and then insert the 220V plug into the
powersocket. It is better for the battery to recharge after
every ride. The charger will stop charging when the battery
is full. When the battery is full (when the light on the
charger turns green), the charger may be disconnected.
Red (Power on/Charging)
Green (Power off/Full Charge)
Remove battery
The battery can be removed from the battery bay by
pressing the key (1) and turning it to the left, and then gently
pull the battery upwards. Before doing this, remove the
seatpost and saddle from the bicycle.
Always lock the battery when you put it back. The display
cannot be turned on and the battery may vibrate loose while
cycling.
Range
The range represents the distance in kilometers that can be covered with a fully charged battery. The
range is influenced by various factors:
•Battery capacity (Ah) and voltage (V)
•Electric support Level
•The carrying weight on the bike
•Amount of pedaling power delivered by the rider
•Ambient temperature (battery capacity decreases below 10°C)
•Wind force
•Tire pressure (3.5 bar/50.7 psi)
•Road surface condition
As the battery ages, the range decreases.

Battery & Charging
General
•The battery can be charged both in and out of the bicycle.
•When replacing the battery, make sure that the contacts of the battery and the contacts of the battery
bay are properly aligned.
Charge advice
•Always charge the battery with the Lacros charger supplied with the bicycle. Do not use any other
charger.
•The first 2 charges of a new bicycle must be more than 60%. To realize this, wait the first 2 times with
charging, until the battery indicator on the display has dropped below 40%.
•After the battery is fully charged, charging stops automatically. Recharge the battery only when the red
indicator light on the charger becomes visible again.
•After 2 full charges (first 2 charges), the battery does not have to run below 40% before you start
charging again. The battery can always be recharged, even after short rides.
•The battery remains in good condition if you recharge the bicycle after every use (regardless of distance).
•The warranty on the battery is void if deep discharge is found (this can only happen if you leave the
battery on and put it away for a long time without recharging.)
•In case of long-term storage: fully charge the battery, disconnect the battery from the charger and the
bicycle and switch off the battery by pressing the on/off button for4 seconds. (You will see that the
battery is off when your bike's display turns off.) Charge the battery at least once every 2 months.
•The battery performs less well below 10°C, you will then have less capacity and will therefore be able to
cycle fewer kilometers on a single battery charge.
Warnings
Read the warnings below carefully.
•Do not expose the battery to fire or heat. Never put the battery in fire.
•Do not drop or damage the battery.
•Do not immerse the battery in water or any other liquid.

the warranty, unless Shinga B.V. gives permission.
•Do not put liquids or metal in the charger.
•Do not connect the charger to the battery with wet hands.
•Do not touch the charger in case of lightning.
•Do not use the charger in a very humid environment.
