Problem Possible cause Solution
The wafer is very dark. The mixture has a high sugar
content and has browned too
quickly or the heat dial is set too
high.
Reduce the heat using the control
dial on the top of the machine.
Allow the machine to cool before
making another wafer.
The mixture is running off the edge
of the hot plates, when they are
closed.
Too much mixture is being used, or
the mixture is too thin.
Reduce the amount of mixture
you are using and make sure the
mixture is thick enough to coat the
back of a spoon.
Wafers are cracking when I roll
them around the cone shaper.
The wafers may have already cooled
and set.
The wafer needs to be removed
from the maker and shaped quickly
while still warm. Use a clean tea
towel and the cone shaper to avoid
burning your hands.
The wafer mixture is not browning. The machine is not heating. Check the maker is plugged in and
the green ready light is illuminated.
