Introduction
Their outstanding performance of the LD Systems DDQ series is the result of a precise design and perfect
features that deserve top marks across the board.
The DDQ15 active speaker is loaded with a Faital Pro woofer and a BMS tweeter. They are driven separately by
two Hypex UCD700 700W power stage modules.
The signal is processed by a Sharc DSP programmed especially for the DDQ active systems with converters that have a
remarkable dynamic range of 127dB. It handles all protection functions, whereby the predictive peak limiter is especially
worthy of mention. With a look ahead time of 1 millisecond, it ensures absolutely distortion-free reproduction even at
maximum volume. The bass-reflex enclosure of the active speaker is made of multiplex. It is also easy to transport thanks
to the innovative Evolutive handles and the comparatively low weight.
The DDQ15 active speaker is designed for all PA applications: for mobile use, for permanent installation,
in compact systems, FOH systems or delay lines, and thanks to the integral 50° angle, it can also be used as a
stage monitor. All DDQ systems are made in Germany!

FRONT OF HOUSE CONFIGURATION
For the front of house application, the narrower side of the HF horn opening must face downward.
STAGE MONITOR CONFIGURATION
For use as a stage monitor, the LD Systems DDQ15 active speaker can be positioned on its side. If necessary, the
HF horn can be rotated by 90° in order to attain a larger treble range dispersion angle. To do this, the active speaker
must first be switched off and disconnected from the mains. Next remove the front grille and loosen and remove
the screws on the mounting flange of the horn Afterwards the horn can be rotated by 90° and re-fastened (please
never rotate more than 90°). If the HF horn is to be rotated back for a vertical setup, this must always be done in
the opposite direction. Rotating the HF horn multiple times in the same direction can damage the leads to the HF
system or its terminals.

INSTALLATION & MOUNTING:
FLOWN OPERATION:
The speaker is equipped with appropriate flyware for flown operation.
The LDDDQ15 has M10 threads for use with M10 eyelet bolts, which can be used to suspend the speakers on
chains with snap hooks or on wire ropes.
As an alternative to flying points, the speaker can be flown using the LDDDQ15SB swing bracket developed
especially for use with the LDDDQ15 speaker. The assembly instructions can be found on the following pages of
this user's manual.
Please use only appropriately certified, undamaged flyware (flying points, eyelet bolts, snap hooks, chains, wire
ropes, etc.). The speaker must be additionally secured against falling using suitable and appropriately dimensioned
chains and/or steel cables. Please also observe the requirements with regard to installation personnel. Mounting
on crossbars, ceilings, walls, etc. should be carried out only by appropriately trained personnel. Please observe the
applicable regulations (which vary from country to country)!
MAINTENANCE:
The best way to clean the surface of the speaker cabinet is to use a dry, medium-hard brush (for example, a
wallpaper brush). Use only a dry cloth to clean the control panel.

monitor einzusetzen. Alle DDQ-Systeme werden in Deutschland gefertigt!
